In short, this suggestion gives ships crews and allows people to board ships and steal resources. It is not about having engineers, security, farmers etc. Ships don't even need a crew to function normally, the only reason the crew is here is for boarding. This idea was posted on the old forums here, but I decided to bring it back to the attention of DO and change it up a little bit. This makes a good addition to the game because it encourages player piracy, makes 5-3 even more tense, and might possibly help bring down ufes. My version of this idea is different than the other one because it deals with percentages, there is no difference for boarding between a fe and a ufe.

    Max Crew per Ship
    Pheonix 8
    Leonov 320 (always)
    Liberator 32
    Piranah 128
    Nostromo 240
    Bigboy 280
    Vengeance 360
    Goliath 512
    Aegis 550
    Spearhead 200
    Citadel 1100

The ships' top crew is (hp/1000)*2. Max crew is set, any hp increasing mechanics do not change it. The Leonov does not lose crew members when they leave the home maps.

    Two New Abilities (all ships)

Board: Sends a boarding part to the locked ship. Only works if the ship is in the minimap range. Pet radar protocols do affect this, and so does spearhead's Recon ability. Thirty second cooldown.

Retrieve: Takes back your crew members from the ship (still has to be locked), also only works if the ship is in minimap range. Thirty second cooldown.

    Restrictions/Exceptions
1). Shields have to be down to transfer crew, all the way.
2). Boarding someone from the same company or outfit as you just gives them more crew. Crew cannot go above the set limit.
3). You can't board or retrieve from enemies in demilitarized zones, but you can give clan/outfit members crew in the zone.
4). If you are boarded in a PvP map, you can't leave until all the the attacker's people are dead, or you are.
5). Spearheads can't board or retrieve while ultimate cloaked.

    Mechanics of Boarding
The number of people sent to the defending ship is 25% of the crew that they currently have. Ex: A citadel has 1000 civillians, an attacking ship would send 250 people. If the attacking ship doesn't have that much crew, you send over what you have. If a defending ship has 79 or less crew, a standard party of 20 is sent over.

If you have no crew, you can ask clan/outfit members for some, or you can wait until you die. When you die, your crew (regardless of your old amount) is set to 50% of the max. Every hour, that number increases by 3%, until it reaches the most you can have. This usually takes 24 hours.

Once your crew is aboard someone else's ship, you can't retrieve them for a solid 10 seconds. Every second, there is a 5% chance for each soldier to die. So on average, after 10 seconds, a raiding party of 250 would reduce to 150.

After these 10 seconds are over, if you are still in minimap range of the ship, you can recall your soldiers. When you do so, a percentage of the defending ship's cargo will be taken. That percentage is calculated as such: your soldiers left on the ship / that ship's crew. So assuming your party killed no one, you would get 15% of that citadel's cargo. If they kill the average amount (like they do below), they get 17%. You can't steal xenomit.

Every second an enemy party is on your ship, all of your crew has a 1% chance to die. On average, after 10 seconds (in the above example), your people are down to 904.

    UP FOR DEBATE:
If your party kills the remaining crew of the defending ship, a single item will be taken. The items can only be taken if they are equipped on the ship or drones, not the pet. The items that can be stolen are: Hercules/havoc, lasers, shields, the launcher, and extras. Whatever design the ship is wearing, it can be copied and brought back, so you will get that design. This definitely provides motive for boarding people outside of 5-3.

    Notes
-If the ship you boarded dies, so do your people.
-Pets are pure AI, they have no crew.
-There should probably be quests and/or titles for doing this, the quests having good rewards.
-Even if the defending crew is all dead, your crew still dies because the ship tries to kill you.
-Killing the ship that boarded you will leave the raiding party with no where to go to, so they will eventually just die off.

    Thanks for reading :)

Holy balls dude!!! It would be too cool for this idea to happen, but if I'm to understand correctly just minor changes to the game require an unbelievably high amount of effort for the development team that will plague the game with glitches, lag and droves of unhappy players leaving the game never to return.

But hey, I love the idea!!!

  3. same with war clans right and i will be able to board a UFE venom with a citadel and get an lf4 or venom nice

  4. Ugh, no, useless. It would freaking break up the game and there is a slight difference between the UFEs and FEs/Normal players.

A UFE's shields can be impossible to take down, making transfer impossible and I find it just plan dumb.

    -999 from me

If ufes have super high shields they are on a slow config, which means you can still outrun them. Anyone that uses a suicide config can be boarded easily, but retrieving is a different matter. It's not supposed to be easy to raid a ufe ship, but also it isn't supposed to be out of the question.

  6. Its completely unfair for a UFE to do this to a FE :L

  7. I have met UFEs on speed configs, yet have 750k shields. I don't know how they have that much, but they manage to keep it above 50% a majority of the time with SAB rockets/ammo.

Actually, it raises the quality the game experience if done correctly.

Wow copying things from Seafight and creating tons of lag and stealing hard earned equipment enhances the quality of the game experience, I never knew.
