  1. I do about 12.5k on npcs with bat (8% damage boost) but only 12,451 (highest dmg my friend saw) on players...anyone know anything about how damage is calculated that could enlighten me upon why this is?

-2nd little quick question, what hell storm rocket does the most damage pvp?
I thought it was the yellow one but i always see others using the red ones so im questioning it...

Thank you for your time and assistance.

That website is useful for just working out maximum damage, yes it's in French but it's still understandable.
I think it was Pacman who worked out the damage variation was between 100% - 75% of your maximum damage.

I too always thought the yellow ones were best for PvP, however after testing about 100~ of the yellow, red and birthday hellstorms each I had the best results with the birthday ones, yellow and red ended up pretty much the same.

If we want to be a bit more precise with the Hellstorm rockets then a single rocket will yield maximum figures of,

    BDR-1212 - Players: 4400 / NPCs: 5200
    HSTRM-01 - Players: 4000 / NPCs: 4000
    UBR-100 - Players: 4000 / NPCs: 7200

If you run out of Birthday rockets and are only looking to use hellstorms on players, then the yellow ones are cheaper and offer the same damage as red ones.

There is also a slight damage bonus if you fire a full set (5/5 hellstorm rockets on HST-2).

  5. Also, in regards to why you are seeing players using the red rockets in pvp. DO will sometimes give out the red rockets in special boxes (I think we got them in the christmas presents this year, but I really don't remember for certain) or in things like the advent calendar. So people just use them in pvp since they got them for free instead of buying the expensive yellow rockets. Once the reds are all used up, then they go back to yellow.

Hi MûяĐєяĐσĻĻš, there are a number of factors that affect damage. You mention the bat formation which adds 8% against npc, as you are seeing similar result when shooting ships, I would guess you have some bio pps in bounty hunter I and II.
2 bio pps in bounty hunter II would give 8% for ship damage and nothing to npc damage, which would give you the same damage for both when using the bat formation on npcs.

Someone will calculate your damage for you,
if you post your laser spec including which lasers / upgrades you have on your ship and drones, what booster if any, which ship / ship design and which formation/s.

Also if you wont to test your damage range, 50 shot ( I usually use 100 shots to test damage) should usually produce your full damage range within about 1 % of min and max. with min being 75% of max.

  7. Hello MûяĐєяĐσĻĻš

Thank you all for assisting with this thread.

Do you (the original poster) have any further questions or can we close?

  8. PoseidonsFury if you don't mind could you leave this open for a few more days please and thank you.

Well -Pacman2- I expected myself to be hitting noticeably higher than 12.5k on player because I do 12.5k (x1 with bat formation in venom) I don't have any pilot points for increased damage on npcs. I have full pilot points in Bounter-Hunter though so there is a 4% damage increase when i fight players.

Hi MûяĐєяĐσĻĻš, 4% of 12,5k is only 500, the range if 12,5k is max, would be 9.38k-12.5k

if you post your laser spec including which lasers / upgrades you have on your ship and drones, what booster if any, which ship / ship design and which formation/s,

we can work out what you should be hitting on both ships and npcs.
