  1. This is beyond ridiculous now, I have done multiple clean ups, and everything so that i could have a clean hunt for a 100 sub special, yet here DO is glitching up freezing up, and lagging ALL OVER THE PLACE! Stop ignoring the threads on people complaining about the lag YOUR game has, GROW A PAIR! and FIX THE DAMN LAG!

    You are the only person in the technical issues complaining of lag recently.

    If it was a big issue like your post is making it seem then surely there would be lots of people asking for it to be looked into.
    I personally have no issues on European or American servers right now, so I think it might be a problem at your end instead of the game :/

    You know all you will be told is to clear cache anyway. If it is freezing up then that sounds to be a problem with frame rate and so hardware issues or a virus.
     
  3. make sure you have fast enough internet and not too many window or devices on 1 router just sayin g i recently downgraded my internet and now have a lil lag you want like 40 megs or better to play lag free on heavy usage.

  4. GA1 chats get complaints all the time, most of them don't care to complain because DO doesn't do a damn thing. There is massive lag on GA1, it is not me, i do not have a virus, my cache is cleared, everything is up to date. And according to my system mechanic pro, i have no issues or hard drive errors, nothing. This is all DO.

    Fix This Game!, I thought do was fixed, well if not fixed, it is servilely weighted towards WW. :p:D
    I had been noticing slow loading of the game page on gb1 last week, but it seem to be back to normal now.
     
  6. There is a lag on multiple servers, they simple do nothing. Most of it started after they started with full screen mode and other add-ons they have done. especially graphic setting adjustment, I go on low on everything it still lags, new computer, better internet, no shockwave.. it still lag. it still lags. now if everyone or almost everyone boycotted DO for a week at the same time, I think they would get a message and do something
     
  7. After the addition of the CBS lag was higher in chance, now its just constant lag.

    I don't have really much trouble facing lagg.. Only when there's a lot of activity while spaceball or crazy cubs..
     
  9. I of course experienced it during crazy cube, but earlier that day I was a clean 50-65 fps, I then got on for a planned hunt and the lag was terrible, a couple other players also said so.

    Thank you all for your input into this issue, as some players are experiencing this issue during special events, and with the increased amount of actively playing players. With the addition of the new quests, there are more people enjoying the game at the same time.

    We have not had a large amount of complaints on this issue, but I will not tell you that it doesn't exist. What I will tell you is that there are a multitude of reason why you could be experiencing an issue.

    1. Web Browser is not up to date
    2. Flash and java not up to date - or missing plug ins
    3. Cache needs to be empty
    4. Browser history may need to be cleared.
    5. Distance from server
    6. Computer graphic overload. (Graphics card slow or not enough Ram).
    7. Internet type - Wifi, DSL, cable broadband or phone connection.
    8. Programs Running in the Background

    9. Possible server problem.

    These are all things that could be causing the issue, these are just suggestions as to what the issue might be to help you resolve the current problem.

  11. Its a server problem, already said I cleared it all, my stuff is up to date. switched browsers. browser history gets cleared with cache. graphics is fine and I have PLENTY of Ram. no problems running in the background, this game is just straight up broke.
     
  12. I have to agree, this game is going in the wrong direction. If they just had a week set aside where they concentrated on fixing bugs, 80% of them would be patched! The amount of errors recently introduced is phenomenal! I'll list some here for you with their probable causes:

    Game loading: When loading the game, it doesn't get past the "Loading..." bar
    Cause: This is caused by an issue where the game gets stuck on loading a font (the last asset to be loaded). If you clear cache, refresh numerous times or try other things then the font will be loaded and the game will not get suck loading.

    Game loading II: 30% of the time when loading the game, it will get stuck on "Establishing Connection"
    Cause: This is caused by NUMEROUS null reference errors... for example:

    Both of these are extremely easy to fix if they only debugged their code.

    NB. For this one I have to admit that as being a fellow developer some things are extreme edge cases and only appear when in a production environment. There is an easy fix for this: Put an error reporter! They already have a decent event logging system recently implemented, why not simply catch all uncaught errors and report it to the event logger?

    Portal Jumping: If you jump and then try and do something that would result in a server side action (pretty much anything, like disable pet, change config etc.) then 90% of the time the game will freeze and you will not jump port. This only affects cross server jumps, not jumps where the destination map is on the same (physical) server as the current map.
    Cause: Yet again this is caused by null reference errors. I managed to loose the stack traces but BP should be able to find it from this information :)

    Invisible Players: Ever since the new resolution update came out and the "pretty" fading in and out of players as they enter the screen you will sometimes run into the odd occasion where you are being attacked by a "phantom" player(s).
    Cause: For some odd reason sometimes players fail to spawn (missed packet?) on the map. This causes future attacks to appear to be coming from no where. You should probably force init (like in the old client) player spawns if the player is being attacked by someone it doesn't know about.

    Map Loading Times: For goodness sake, do something about the map load times! As you cannot see any dots on the minimap until the map background loads chasing enemies through port jumps is next to impossible because you have no way of tracking them down!
    Cause: You guys come up with something!

    I managed to discover all this in less than 30 minutes. In my opinion Bigpoint should open a public bug-tracker running Jira or something like Mozilla run.

  13. I have seen that numerous times, it is so annoying. First time it happened I said in chat "ok, so he is cloaked and attacking me?"
    Instantly a 2 hour ban for "accusing" not only does the game need fixing the admins need teaching.
     
  14. They don't need teaching, they need more understanding. Bigpoint has earnt a very big reputation of being guilty until proven innocent and has downright punished people for being helpful in the past. This needs to change if they want people to keep reporting issues with the game and the chat mods are the first line of contact for people who experience things in game. They need to be more open minded.

    What I'd really love to see is actual support from email support instead of constant Copy+Paste crap that you get every time. I understand that sometimes its useful but most of the time it hasn't been updated since the beginning of the game... Telling people to "Make sure Java is up-to date" is total nonsense considering the game doesn't use a piece of Java anywhere!
     
  15. The chat mods do the same, when we complain about the lag in game "oh clear cache, update, switch browsers" We know what we are doing, yet here we are still lagging. still having issues. Nothing gets done, and I want the lag to go away.

    Second: Is the server you play on hosted in or outside of it? (If you don't want to say what country you live in, just say if your server is hosted in or out of it)

    Anyone that plays DO on the GB1 / GB2 servers that lives in the UK has to deal with playing on a server that is not in the their own country. :rolleyes:

    However this is not a significant issue. There have been significant issue with lag recently that has nothing to do with location.
     
  18. I play Global America 1, and I live in America, matter of fact, the server follows eastern the best, which is my zone.

    The only issue with that is I think the East / West thing is a bit of a lie on DO.

    The map IP address of every map on american servers says that they are hosted in southern California by a organisation called Bandcon. Since American is a pretty big country you could end up being quite a big distance away from your server.
    Equally every map on any Eurpean server says they are hosted in Germany.

    Just to show the current issue have little or nothing to do with location, network connection or pc quality.

    Noting that I run ping and tracert test when I have DO lag/ response issue to check if it is my pc or connection.;)

    I have a 10 year old pc. With an in built graphics card and only 1.5 gb total ram. ( I only had 0.5gb with little lag on DO back in 08-09, but added 1gb just to play DO smother back in 09 as it was getting more memery hungry) I have become an expert on optimising my pc just in the hope I can play DO lag free always

    But I clear cache and try dif browsers, as that is the standard response. :rolleyes: ( accepting that anyone that doesn't know how to optimise their pc the standard response can work :))
    I live in England, the GB1 server is in Germany, I can play on both GB1 and US east at the same time, with little or no lag when the servers are not causing lag / slow loading / loading issues etc and can chat on ts and have other programs running in the back ground all at the same time.

    So It is without question that the current issue are server / DO programming errors related.

    Currently if I want to launch DO in game chat with opera I have to reduce the browser window to a minimal size, to reduce the memory drain when loading the game map and chat, but I can always get chat to launch by doing this
    :rolleyes:. I haven't tried doing this on 2 servers at the same time yet :rolleyes:.

    The Dev team could and should test for issues when launching new updates, so should launch on a Monday ( rather than a Friday
    ;)) and test as a player on distant geographical servers or local server through external access and limited spare ram etc.

    It's Friday evening here so just going to clear cache and flash cache and clean up my pc including reg files ( well run Ccleaner free ware ) just in case the Dev team have fixed all the issue so we don't have any problems at the weekend
