Cheats or something else

I just got killed by a group of mmo players on 4-1.
The problem is,they were not even close to me,i couldnt see their ships and on the space map they were really far away.Yet somehow,they got a lock on me and destroyed me without even giving me a chance.

I dont know if this is some kind of cheat,but from what i saw from the mini map they were not even close to see me on their screen.

It's a bug,lag or cheat?

 

Man it happen to me too , its just lag , the ship shows u are somewhere else but in reality u are just close to them they can see u because they dont have lag
but unfortunately u cant see them. it happens to me once ina while and im sure its not a cheat

 

It can either be Autolockers or just lag. Autolockers are apparently starting to become a problem again. As far as lag, the best way to see if you are lagging or not is by taking your PET out. Take it out and look at your mini map. Where ever your pet is located on the mini map, that is your actual location in the game.

 

If it was autolock then they would appear on his minimap at least.
The range at which the mini map extends is the range at which resources load in on your screen, anything further than that range effectively just doesn't even exist and a autolock wouldn't be able to detect the packets of a player beyond that range.
The only exception to this is when a player has lock or been locked by something in minimap range and flies beyond the minimap range, however if that was the case then they wouldn't be as far away as he says they are.

Yourself and plaku are right in saying its lag though.

The use of external programs (whether it be 'bots' or other third-party software) is all dealt with by Support. The scripts are always running to catch players who plays by unfair means, if you have any evidence please Contact Support for further assistance.
