better chat system...

current chat system is kinda primitive.

there's multiple channel of chat but you wont know that there's new message if you don't switch to the channel tab.

maybe some glowing notification and shortcut to switch chat tab would be nice...

or different colored chat in global to indicate which channel its coming from.

 

I completely agree with this. Of all my years in DarkOrbit, the chat hasn't changed one bit. Everything else has been revamped and I think the chat should catch up with all these recent changes. There have been a lot of problems like not being able to scroll up properly and it freezing all the time. +1 to you good sir.

 

I was thinking about this earlier and came to add my thoughts but I think you already mentioned what I was thinking about...

Bascially add a couple of more user-configerable keys that will enable you to cycle through the chat tabs instead of having to click on that annoying button to scroll back and forth from global/company chat to outfit chat if you have a small window.

 

With a game like DO changing the chat to have glowing indications would just cause unwanted lag that DO will not bother to admit to or fix.

Chat has had many changes. trust me...

 

Chat needs to be fixed because I cannot scroll up and keep it there. Also, I'd like a glowing indicator to tell me when there are new posts. Many games have that neat feature. +1 here

 

I like this, but the lighting up should only be for preselected players since when hte chats are all active you wouldnt want it lighting up like a wildfire but just for whne specfic players you are talking with in several chats type somthing,and scrolling up in chat would be a wonderfull fix when I attempt to screenshot chat issues for support to look at and players talk continuously it keeps dropping to the bottom it sohuld be able to lock and have a scroll bar so you dont over shoot hwere you're looking for.

along with this they should rewrite the chat rules aswell as most of these rules are a ton of nonesense that just ask players to get banned, personlly there shouldnt be any rules for chat other then making sexual remarks, personal attacks, and spamming. The rest such as profane langauge and flaming is just a bunch of stuff that is just asking players to get themselfs banned its a pvp game and players are gunna do those regaurdless or not if a player is young enough where flaming and profane langauge is too much to handle then they are too young ot be playing a game like this
