  1. how about he quits, and you not get angry because PvP players want this game to be PvP not a damn cry fest. We all played this game with being killed, for gods sakes back in the old days instead of worrying about ONE player finding you, you had to worry about the 10+ in the map hunting together!

    GROW UP YOU GIRLS!

I feel for the newbie guy ,but like some people said in here back in the days we were given a phoenix, rep with uri , and everytime we bought a ship i used to loose it , hence the expression "I will put you into a phoenix lol"
Now this expression doesnt make sense anymore. I just wanna say something to the little guy ,the game will be long and full of obstacles ,it is normal they pop you but if u have full engine speed its the only thing that can make u safe and survive.
Dont forget some of us when we started the servers were much busier and there was full of hunters now its just random players goin up and down so u have a good chance.
And if u buy anything is premium not anything else

  3. I know what you mean, but at the moment Dark Orbit isn't growing at all as a game. If it was continuing to blossom I would say that the current PVP situation is fine. It's clear however that it's upsetting new players though and this is a time where new players are needed desperately.

Way back when I used to be able to get back to port in a vengance but not anymore. Still in this situation I did make it to FE(still workin on UFE after 2yrs of scattered playing) with all the imbalance. I started that particular account just after rsb came out so its possible to become a big bad ship in a lot of time with a minimum of cash spent. (I probably got premium 2 times on that account, and never bought uri outright)

All I can say is get all your quests done and build your ship up enough to go around in 5-3 so you can collect palladium and do galaxy gates.

  5. you dont have to be ufe to hunt/ get kills in this game. I have been playin over 4 yrs, I'm not ufe and I have over 20k ship kills. If you want everything givin to you in a day find another game, cause this game takes time and work. Money can aid in the proces, but time and work are still needed. Back before outfits if you and 2 buddies wanted to do the 200 quest, that meant 600 sibs and you had to transfer the lock to the guy that needed it, now for 3 people to do the 200 quests it only requires 200 sibs to be shot down and all 3 players complete the quest. Much easier now, and that goes for all quests. And if you think its hard to get away from 2 ufes hunting, you would have never made it when there were 5-10 fes hunting in any 1 map at the same time.

BP has catered to the new players and yet the new players want more givin to them, as I stated before time and work are what is needed to last in this game not having everything givin to you before you know what to do with it.

  6. Yes this is a pvp game but i have seen newbies in goli's still under the new player protection.

Iv been playing on and off since 2010, As Plaku said back then there was alot more players to worry about and we had to pay for everything with uri none of this free reps the new players have now.

  7. I'm sorry to say, but this is how the game goes. You, new players, now days, do have it a lot easier than how us older players did back in the day.
Maps used to be full everytime (especially after Mega Happy hour) with 5 - 10 FE's hunting in the map, meaning that you either had to stick to port and wait or go around to edges of the map, so you're not caught.
Plus we didn't have the free repairs, that you new players have. Oh and we ere given a phoenix...as a starter ship.
I can go on, and on, but the list would be too long. If you can't handle this game, then you could always quit. Otherwise, just suck it in, till you're F.E, then you won't face as much trouble, as you're facing now. :)

Oh, pfft. You couldn't get as powerful back then as you can now, so the word "FE" has a lot more punch now then it did then. One player can have more punch then 3 FE's these days. And there weren't as many steroid-loaded tanks running around terrorizing noobs for a quest. I was there back in the old days too, and NO, it was not this bad. Don't let anyone tell you different. Seriously, it's harder to find a time when there isn't a FE/UE running around killing everything that moves in another companies' map. I think people that started in the early days got to FE, and once they were there it was easy for them to keep up with the games' power upgrades.
A PvP game is where players can match their work and skills with other players. In this game, you have to pray that you won't even see an enemy player while doing a task as simple as moving from map A to map B. THAT'S NOT PVP, GUYS.

Thanks for speaking up about it. Back then "FE" meant something totally different, because they had LF-3, BO2s Irises and nothing more. If you ran into one, you actually stood a bit of a chance if you had some nice ammo and a friend or two. Notice how quickly and how many people will jump in to silence thoughts like this, because they're true

  9. It is much easier to do quests as a noob now than it was 4 yrs ago, simply because there are just a small fraction of people hunting compared to 4 yrs ago. And as a noob leo 4 yrs ago you stood no chance against an FE goli, you may not have popped as fast as today but you popped none the less. As a new player you are free to box, collect and shoot strueners in your x-1 map where as 4 yrs ago everyone lvl 16 and up was hunting in the x-1 map, it was not uncommon for there to be 4 enemies in the x-1 map at any time and they didnt have to wait for you to shoot them first, they usually popped you before you could see a name.

If you think DO should do more to help the noobs than they already do, you have no guts or drive to accomplish something for yourself. If everyone was granted company protection until lvl 16 or whatever, there would just be a bunch of lvl 16 players that have no idea how to survive or use the equiptment givin to them.

  10. 1 x3 & x4 are most deadly maps for new players - do not go there
2 hell no - u have to learn how to play cleaver
3 yes yes no - see my guide on my signature and i am waiting ur questions

In case you haven't noticed, how fast you pop in this game is everything when it comes to hunting. If you pop slower then you have a chance to get to the gate. I was there four years ago too(this is a new account), you might not have had a chance to fight in a leo but you had a decent chance to get away. And if you were in an outfit, you definitely stood a chance, you could team up with some sub-elite bigboys and take one out. And that noob protection stuff lasts less than a day, I was already losing more than half my bonus box and kill rewards after one day, and then went on to spending more than 20 minutes in 3-3 to kill ten lordakias. True story. But even then, noob quests are almost useless, they give like 20 uri that you could have made in at most a minute through farming and boxing, and they take forever and you die a bunch. Quests aren't worth your time until much, much later in the game. Anyway, there still would be lots of people in the home maps had they not added the "shoot first" protection, which was a step in the right direction.
Point is, the game revolved a lot more around groups and teamwork then it does now, now one person can be a freaking army. Noobs may have easier access to LF-3s now, but they don't have easy access to the LF-4s, drone designs, and x4 and x6 ammo they're getting killed with. So I honestly think it's about the same now as it was then. If it was as bad as that, there wouldn't be any older players, besides wallet warriors, because if that was the case you couldn't step outside the DMZ without dying. Even if the game is becoming more noob-tolerant, and I don't think it is, then it's about time they started doing something about it. The only thing they've changed is they've the point of progress you can get to before you hit a brick wall, and even that doesn't matter, because they've also hugely raised the overall power ceiling.

  12. 1) Yep, most of us here had to go through the same
there are a lot of new quests for higher ranked ships
that require stronger ships to vist those maps you mentioned.

It was a lot harder when most of us here started
e.g there was no protection in x1 maps etc

    2) No, A leo can easily outrun and defend against bigger ships,
but with any Pay to Play game, if someone is spending a fortune
on equipment each week, then they are going to be a lot stronger etc

    3) for the maps you mentioned, a Leo is a great ship to defend
against a Goli attack (you get a Shield,Hp,Speed bonus in the lower maps)
all the money you spend should of been spent on Shields!
then Lf3's after that .. Speed gens,Rep bots etc you can pick up
for a few Thousand credits in Auction

U EIC cause if u are inv me to outfit and i'll smash some npcs with ya ;) im EIC and my name is 'Definitely-Not-Dino' So if u see me in the chat just gimma shout or a whisper and i'll come help u with yer quests ;)

  15. Not sure of the maths, but i know you got a speed bonus in lower maps
Fe Leo can easily 1v1 an Fe goli in lower maps

  16. Lol help him even if he isn't EIC.

On GA1 i help vru and mmo all the time, sometimes it leads to the big groups of vru not shooting me seeing me help them.. sometimes it leads to me ticking off the wrong eic group :p

Actually you do not get a speed bonus. There was never such a thing added as DO said numerous times. Nothing does and nothing will receive a permanent speed boost. Not even the Leonov has it.

  17. Well its advertised as having one ...
An i remember using one back in the day.. it was way faster than a Goli.

Lenov Standard speed is 360, Home map bonus speed 380
    Goli Standard speed is 300

Lenov 440 top speed inc all speed gens , Goli top speed 450 inc all speed gens

  18. I haven't looked in a long time but the last time i looked like 6-8 months ago it didn't have anything on it about speed, cause i copy and pasted it to someone in chat asking what they should get and wanted to know what about a leo is so good for noobs. Maybe a error for me. But either way, leonov as you just said is not faster then a goli so..

I remember it having a speed bonus only in your own X1 map but that was it.

  20. Yeah mine shows the extra 20 speed now. for the home maps, so the x-1, x-2, x-3, x-4 maps.
