Well, you don't need to be faster than who's chasing you, you just need to get to the gate before they can get close enough to get a lock, or at least before you pop. When both have all 7900's the goli's only 10 points faster

  2. Kinda hard for me lmao. When i use a leo i got to 2-4, very rarely do i use one. But in any case... 2-4 always has like 5+ vru in it, so i tend to get jumped by a lot of people or end up in a fight with one of those magic players or just some UFE no life....

Watch your mini-map like a hawk, that's the key

  4. Lol i normally do, i also prefer to find targets to kill, most of the time it isn't hard, except the lack of hp a leo has. I do fine unless it's a bunch of hard hitters on me, usually get like 10 kills just chilling there.

  5. If you were around 4 yrs ago you would know there was no EMPs or outfits. Once an enemy had your lock you were toast, unless you were right by the port. Ships may not have hit as hard as they do now, but the results were the same. and as far as a leo being able to outrun a goli, you better go back to math class cause 450 is top speed of goli and 440 is top speed for leo in lowers.

The easiest way to resolve this is if you dont want to pop play something else. If you are up to the challenge of building a ship to 1 day be the hunter, oh wait the people that are up to the challenge arent cryin about it being unfair.

You don't have be in an outfit to team up with people. I did it all the time with my friend, who stopped playing this game a long time ago, and met some new people doing it too. You don't have to use EMPs to get away, I haven't used one of those things before. If you bothered to read my other posts on this thread, I already mentioned to someone else that the leo was only slightly slower than the goli, and you don't have to be faster than the other guy, you just need to get to the gate before you pop, and since there used to be a much lower power ceiling then there is now, getting away was a bit easier.
You were toast when you blew up, if you can still move you can still get away. But now, I have a ship that's faster than a maxed out goli, and I still usually pop when they jump out because I can't get out of range before I pop. That didn't used to be the case, if you were paying attention and had decent speed or shields(or both) you had a shot at getting away.
Something like 85% of the people who are "up to the challenge" end up quitting after dying the 10000th time. I wouldn't call it "unfair," I feel like you have to either play this game like surgery and even then get killed all the time, or you can dully farm lordakias in x-2 while slowly building the skylab. I've found that trying to be careful and precise still has too many variables and only amounts to being a great way to get frustrated, and the only other decent, safe way to progress is in 90% safety in x-2, farming and boxing.
