Oldy but a Goody

I recently heard about DarkOrbit launching a "reloaded" version of the game, and it sparked my interest. To give some background information, my old nickname is "Windydarkness", I don't know if anyone will remember it due to the fact I played in 2008. MMO power!

Anyhow, I wanted to know if anyone could explain to me what is so special about this reload? I see there are many new UI updates which will probably take some getting used to. I've also noticed there are many many new arsenal options which I'm checking out now. Has the battle system changed much? Which company seems to be the dominant force? If I recall correctly, MMO wasn't too hot when I played xD

I see there are new ships.. is it safe to assume Goliath's are no longer the top-dog ships of the game?

The dominant company depends on the server you play on, the Goliath is still the best all around ship in the game. The battle system has changed drastically, although nowadays's it's less battling and more slaughtering enemies.

 

Nope all those items you mentioned are old to really old. Some uri items are now credits back in dec i think. The only new updates was the trade system which was last week. And a quest system about mid Jan i think.

We are still waiting on any actual "reloaded" besides the name.

Darkorbit reloaded have many changes like UI, new quests, new auction system etc.

Reloaded is little more that a marketing ploy attempting to get old player to return.

Very little fundamentally changed pre/post the reloaded addition to the logo.

Which company is dominant depends on which server you are playing.

The Goli is still the top ship however;

If you was to take out you old standard FE goli and had a 1v1 a UFE ( all the latest elite equipment ) goli with all the available consumables, you would be back at base in 2-3 seconds and you would not have even scratch the UFE ship.

To get your basic FE goli to UFE cost in the region of 50 mil Uri and you would have to do about 40 zeta and 40 kappa gates to get your drone designs. Not to mention Epsilon gates for LF4s or collecting thousands of booty box to find the 45lf4s required.

If you have prem you have more hot keys for all the different types of ammo and other items.

The game these days is more like a farming game than a skilled space pvp game.

So if you have a spare few £/$K to chuck at your ship and are prepared to do a load of gates then you can get your self the top ship spec. If not then you will be little more that cannon fodder.
