complete lockout after server restart 3/17/2014

  1. i cant login after the server reset. the graphics started glitching right after reset. i'd click the clan vis window, and only the icon would show on the client screen where it's sposed to pop up.
    couldnt outfit.
    couldnt jump in my galaxy gate.
    anyone else get this issue?

  5. apparently all i can get is establishing connection and nothing else it won't load the game screen figures they do server restart and mess something up

    not the only one i can log into one of my other ships on this server but not my main account support just kept telling me to clear cookes ans such

    Exact same issue here- can't log with my main, but can with other on same server. I have updated, flushed, cleared, and eaten plenty of cookies.

  9. ok DO fix the East coast 1 server game screen, I have tried multiple browsers, 2 different accounts on that server and all i get is establishing connection, this has been going on for hours!
     
  10. ok, so here's what happened: the tech guys, after being forced by whip into server labor, finally got the chance to kick back after setting their equipment up to do a server update. well, one of em put his feet on the PC kiosk, right next to a cup of coffee, fell asleep, and kicked the cup over into the open casing for the server.

    and bam, it costs all of us. how much do you want to bet they wont reimburse us? i coulda made 10k uri during that hour and a half

    I contacted support and got a very quick reply. It appears that whatever the issue was, it was widespread and on DO's end. The problem (for me at least) was resloved.
     
  13. GA1 is not USA East 1. why ppl fro other servers would comment on this in comparison to a server thats not mentioned is beyond me.
    that said, this next comment is to Raijin. the issue was ongoing for roughly 3 hours, which interupted my uridium intake due to inability to log in. now, support sent me an email saying to watch forums for the word on reimbursement for this issue. i have not seen such been posted.
    that tells me support doesnt care that i would have made 30,000 uridium in that 3 hour period, and thats how much on the low side. we wont mention the high side, support would never reimburse that much an anyways.
    now, support knows how much money players spend on this game. i'm sure they know how much i've spent, as i reming them in every email about glitches that they either fail to respond to, or give me some excuse over.
    this isnt the first tie this issue has arose. roughly a month ago on East there was a log in issue that resulted in Support sending out promo codes with log disks, ammo, rockets, and booty keys that further resulted in many ppl who should have gotten one in an email, not getting it. i was one of them. i had to fight with support in emails to get mine then, and now i'm going to make sure it's known here in forums that despite their reluctance to gie it in the first place, i did appreciate them finally doing what was right.
    so, cheers everybody, to support making right with the consequences of this issue.

    I am sorry to hear that you and many others have experienced an issue that made it impossible for you to enjoy your game play.

    As it was mentioned that support had been contacted on this matter, and the issue was being investigated. As for the mention of compensation, When the support member directed you to watch the forums for any announcement on that, this is the correct procedure. However when compensations for game issues are made, it is usually something that is done game wide and effects all.

    The loss of a few hours of game play is a great deal better than the alternative which is a 24-48 hour Maintenance cycle. Which could happen 2-3 times a month.

    If you have further issue on what you were unable to make during this time frame of unestablished game play. I recommend that you continue to contact support to seek a response from them. As we here in forums can not offer you any type of compensation.

  15. yeah, i do actually.
    ive been around a long time. admittedly, i've had my periods of break time. so, i've never seen periods of 24-48 hours for this "maintenance cycle". must have happened during the times i wasnt playing. does this explain why there are so many glitches in the game? not getting the 2-3 times a month 24-48 hour server maintenance? there's too many unanswered questions floating around about how all these weird glitches occur and why. most of us think its cause of hackers. now, you suggest that it could be something else without even meaning to. for the last 3 months, ive been logged in daily. never seen a 2-3 ties a month 24-48 hour maintenance cycle... maybe thats the cause of disruption to paying players and free players alike. maybe thats the cause for massive lag and incorrect drone dmg and some upgraded lasers not appearing in the hanger hall one minute, and being there later. maybe that's the real cause of 80% of "clear your cache" issues? tell me please, that you assign some other non maintenance cycle server to handle our gameplay while the original server is under cycle, or i'm going to be rather suspicious as to what your saying, because like i said, 3 months of daily login with no cycles... i'd think if i owned serious equipment like what BP uses, that i'd be on top of that to give the best gaming experience possible to all the loyal fans and players?

    You were upset over a few hours of not being able to play the game. There are several games on the internet that do regular Maintenance cycles. Dark Orbit strives very hard to keep the game up and playable. This is why they do not do Maintenance cycles where the game is down for long periods of time. Updates and Syncs are set up to be implemented into the game at while the players are still actively playing.

    You have read far more into that statement than was actually there. It is easy to blame Bigpoint and Dark Orbit as they strive to make the game better. Older players remember when the game was experiencing less lag and less issues, however that is how they want to remember it. Clear back to 2008 there were always ingame issues that were constantly being worked on to enhance the game. However with every new fix someone wasn't happy. As for the lag within the game, admittedly there are times when it can be server related. However there are many players within the game who are unaware of how to clear their flash storage data, shut off large programs constantly running in the background, or even do simple updates to necessary programs such as adobe flash. This along with those who are using WiFi, public access internet or are a great distance from the server that they play... will experience lag. None of which may apply to you.

    As for the game itself, it is an ever growing system that is being worked on daily as to offer the players a better gaming experience.

    If you feel that the game has far to many issue that are unresolved or explained. I would recommend that you send those issues to the support team.
