  1. I play with my brother typically, and we each have an account on 3 different servers. The annoying part is that none of them really have any parity, so one of us is always rather overpowered. Short of a cash injection to get some funds, it would be useful to be able to send some resources to help out the other (as I have at least one account quite well-equipped). I know that the idea of somehow having a way of exchanging items between accounts has been around for a while, but the difficulty is always trying to find a way to make it feasible. So, I thought I would see what kind of response we get here to try and open discussion on the topic again.

    CURRENT PROPOSAL:

Players can send a "gift" package to another player (specified by User ID). The Gift can contain an amount of Credits, an amount of Uridium, and one (1) item.

    * The amount of Credits cannot exceed 100,000,000 Credits.
    * The amount of Uridium cannot exceed 1,000,000 Uridium.
    * The item cannot be a Drone, Drone Blueprints, Drone Design, or Ship Design.

You will be able to send one (1) Gift for every 1,000 hours of game-time (as recorded on your account), with an additional bonus Gift at 500 playing hours.

    Example:
    Gift #1 - 500 hours
    Gift #2 - 1,000 hours
    Gift #3 - 2,000 hours
    Gift #4 - 3,000 hours
    etc.

    QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

    - Should there be a limit on the Credits/Uridium? If so, what limits would you suggest?
    - Should item transfers be permitted? If so, how many? (between 1-5)
    - Should the Gift be based on game-time or real-time? (example 6 months of registered play, 1 year, 2 years, etc).

Any suggestions or feedback welcome. Thankyou for your time.

  2. I like the first part of sending credits and uridium to other accounts because then you can send credits to help people out and not have to send them via clan and take everyone's money away from them +1 from the first half but i dont like the Gift 1 Gift 2 etc

    -=[ΚΜΔϗΩ]=- likes this.
  3. we have been wanting something like this around for a while having noobs in our clan isn't a strong point and we usually only take ufes so i guess if we liked the person we would maybe gift them some items however if they were to leave we would want them back so maybe if there was a take back option even if sold by the player it was sent to it would be good

however the time to send gifts is completely stupid the fact people have spent just over 8k hours max on my server over 2 years it would be a ridiculously long period of time before we could do it again
so im in 2 minds on this

    [PΛЯΛĐOX]™ likes this.
  4. allow ship designs

  5. I've always been against this idea, I mean it's so easy to taken advantage of... but you do bring up some good counter measures, at least enough for me to think this through some.

    No Sends:
I do not believe any ELITE items should ever be sent.
No currency transfer(this means credits too).

    Send-able:
    Any credit items.
Any uri items that have a better version that can be bought, not found (ea LF2).
Now the reason I say no credits is because this would break down the bidding system.

  6. no 2 everything excpt creds that is right

  7. There isn't any "Better" Uridium items anymore because they have made LF-2 bought with credits etc and all of the other things like that.

  8. Duuno about gifting to certian players Could have a pool Where people could put their unused items up on a trade list (couple other games i kow do this ) for certian amount of creds be they elite items or not only I would have it so the people looking at the list wouldn't know who put what item up that way no one would have and unfair advantange of putting something up for 1 cred just so someone from their clan could get the item would need some refinements but wold be a nice way for say people who have 100s of lf3s or something of the like would have to keep lf4s off the list and so on well maybe not keep them off but something of a way to control it.

  9. make several noob accounts they al start with 10-15k uri, send all that uri too 1 account repeat till ufe case closed this is why you cant do this

Yeah no... that's WAY too much as a one time transfer limit.
I'm thinking 200k would have to be the max.
But I don't think this will go through anyways... because goodbye money for darkorbit. If you're wondering how they would lose money... then I can't explain the level of stupidity within you, unless you joined the game yesterday.

Very good point. Manitcore, I guess we can't make your idea a working one with loads of botters and cheaters around.

    Good Day!

If you read what Manticore has proposed then you would have realized that that can't happen:

He has thought it through the prevent people just making hundreds on new accounts and abusing it.

    "case closed"

I appreciate the thought but I think the idea is not feasible.

Cheats have been around for a long time so there are players with multiple accounts, eligible for performing "gifts". My issue would then be that there has to be some accountability to receiving botted goods but the whole aspect of a gift means that this transaction is not always mutually agreed between both parties and it just becomes extremely messy.

  15. its the time for when you can gift again , his times are for sending not recieving

    Yes, and?
You need 500 hours to send your first item, therefore your post saying:

Doesn't work since new accounts have 0 hours on them and they need 500 to send their first gift ...

    I love this idea!!!!

  18. The number of Gifts is limited so that people have to seriously think before doing it. This is NOT an item/currency trade system (because I honestly don't think that DarkOrbit would ever do something like that) - it is a genuine gift from one person to another. I'm trying to find a way to balance it so that it can't be used all the time, but still enough that we could use it more than once or twice without too much difficulty.

Ship designs aren't an Inventory item, so I'm not sure if that would be more difficult - the main reason I excluded them is because they don't stack like other items.

If only credit-cost / low uri-cost items were permitted, it would be a pointless update. You could just as easily join or form a clan and give them the Credits to buy/bid for it. It is intended to be more extravagant.

A globalised trading system would be nice, but that's not exactly the purpose I'm trying to cater for. Plenty of item-trade suggestions out there though. ;)

Okapi32 already covered it (cheers!), but this would not happen, because you aren't eligible to send your first gift until you've scored at least 500 hours of game-time - you would need to sit an account ingame for that amount of time. For a measly 15k Uridium, you'd be better off simply playing for a few hours.

I chose that amount because it's approximately how much Uridium I can get from a MHH with $100. That's not too unreasonable for a Gift.
As to the rest of your comment, perhaps you could be a little less insulting, and a little more constructive. I can see that you might have difficulty explaining things, but please try - how would this lose DarkOrbit/Bigpoint money?

True, but one stumbling block doesn't mean that it's a bad idea, it's just an area to be worked on. I'm not even considering bots/cheats as a factor, because you can use that excuse to shoot down anything. If people want to cheat, they will try to find a way. If the developers decided to put something like this in, they would absolutely try and figure out ways to stop it being abused, and whether it would be feasible in that sense - but that's their job, not ours. My only concern is whether the concept is worthwhile, balanced, and reasonable.

Thanks to all for your feedback. Even if we might disagree, I still appreciate you posting. :)

  19. Man with this acc ; i can improve my other accs u know :/

Anyways ; good idea. Add Credit Items (Guns , Generators , DF's , Extras etc.) , All Ammunitions (Limit x1000) , Credit Designs (Solemn) , Boosters

The way I see it the best idea is to make it possible to gift the full amount of the creds or Uri you can regarding the limits posted as not to exceed, but not items or even pieces of items.

Oh yes it should be permitted, I really like the played hours as a guide line, ie: 500, 1000, 2000...etc.

I believe that real time would be less confusing but the possibility of sending should be an option after a year but receiving should come after a month of play considering the notion that lasting that long should be proof enough that the investment receiver will actually stick around.
