I had seen my rank point breakdown many times. There was something in there that didn't reflect reality. I had killed way more than 7 Cubes, but it is showing that I killed only 7 cubes. I did my 10-cube mission, killed some with my friends, killed some with my enemy-friends, and killed more than 25 cubes, but the rank list shows that I had killed only 7 cubes. Why isn't this changing to reflect the actual number of my kills?

You will only get the alien kill rank points if you got the first shot on the npc ;)

  3. Also you might think you shot it first but in reality someone shot it before so they just come back fast before the "mark" goes away from them so you see it red but it turns white again for you.

The answer given by whoeva & †→Zєηη←† is correct.

Thank you for assisting with this thread.

The correct answer is as follows:-
Only the player with the actual red lock when the cube pops will get the npc kill rank reward.
The person who has the final red lock may not be the player who shoot it first. Also there is a bug at times, so sometime you may see the cube target as red, but you do not actual have red lock.

oh. I get it. SO you have to shoot it first to get the rank points?

No the player that the game sees as having red lock when the npc (in this case cube ) pop is the player who get the kill registered in the npc kill listing.
This is not necessarily the player who shoots the npc first. However normally the player that shoot first will keep red lock if they continue to shoot the npc until it pops.

hmmm, so red lock tells the game that the player is locked onto the npc?

  10. Hello SPSAT99

If you have red lock then it means kill credit will mostly be yours and if you have grey lock then its someone else who locked it.

Typically with a cube ( or any npc /ship) if you shoot it first and do not stop shooting it until it pops, you are most likely to get the kill added to your alien kill listing.

If you stop shooting the cube for a period of time, the red lock will transfer to another player that is shooting the cube.

Occasionally there is a red lock bug where even if you are continually shooting say a cube you will still loose red lock so the kill will not show on you alien kill listing
