PET speed with spearhead not making any sense

I won spearhead at auction, was really surprised but it turned out there are some problems
I know this question has been asked many times but i dont find any definite answers so hopefully this will provide me with better ideas.
I have max generator the fastest one and i am really fast as a ship however my pet is weird. i was collecting pally and i noticed a citadel was just placed there, probably not active, so his pet was out and i notived that his citadel pet was faster than mine and it was stealing my pally. i thought its my fault but my ship have the max generator and prom on the generator but no use it kept getting stolen by a citadel's pet. its not just him but other pets aswell so i am confused.

the only thing is that my pet have a lvl 3 resouce collector protocol and it is lvl 8 and i think the answer is maybe that pet who are lvl 15 they have more speed or something like this becz i dont really find any protocol or gear which i thought may be to do with speed. some people say radar but Radar expand i dont think they increase speed of pet
so is it the lvl which also affect pet abilities like shield and damage u know something like that?

As far as I know All Pets have the same speed regardless of which Ship you are in.
They may keep up with you when you are on the Fly but in cases such as collecting Boxes or Palladium they revert to the same speed as any other PET.
In the case of which others PETs are collecting Palladium before yours It has happened to me many many times, I would suspect that all the pets arrive at the same time and the system randomly picks which of the pets gets the Rock.
On the other hand I also expect that it could be Due to the Ping between thousands of different peoples Internets; his PET may be arriving a millisecond before yours due to ping.

The part where u say the pet speed its all the same in all ships is wrong.
It depends on the ship speed plus the generators you have.
As this guy said his should be faster.
but as cortana said it could be ur ping or internet speed, however, when collecting palladium before the change to the cloud was put in effect. You would dissconnect from your ship leaving ur ship without an internet connection.
then what upload and download and ping would your ship and pet have?
there was not a computer in between so there was no internet connection between the ship and the computer.
the pet does not work with internet connection would be the answer why?
try downloading a heavy program from internet and play do at the same time.
your pet still collects at the same speed.

 

put it simply dont buy spearhead if u think u will not get beaten by golis, there pet will be stealing so yea i agree its pretty worthless but now i have it do i cant do anything

The speed of the PET is 30% faster than your ship speed, so the type of ship does make a difference. It is possible that once the PET "locks on" to a resource, it sort of moves in on autopilot, which is why it might seem to be going slower than other ship's, they have gotten there first, and it's just the graphics catching up.

It also depend on the pilot points that is increase of cargo and boxes loot,resources loot too

from the time i got all 12 radar protocols for my pet .. in bonus box collection pet has become way faster & more effective than before
