    It fires lcb augmented missles ie: r310's, plt2120's.
    It goes into the laser slots.
    Nothing to do with skylab.
    Same rate of fire and duration as lasers, missles and lcb, no cooldown, The details are there for anyone to see.

    These answers came from an annoyed VESPID hovering over my shoulder.
    His comp is fried again.

    I see now that this says you can't use in conjunction with any other lasers, does this mean that this will be all you fire ?? ( and also your 1 regular missile, plus your rocket launcher) ...In other words, no laser fire at all ?

    Sorry so many questions, but this is basically a whole new weapon system for noobs, so I'm trying to understand all the details.

    You also inter change the word missile and rocket, which are two different things, thats why I was being picky about which it fired.

    Yes, the railgun will be the only laser slot weapon that equipped ships may fire.
    The only use of the lasers is to assist in range and accuracy.

    The limit of 5 will insure that UFE will not take advantage of the massive damage it provides for the smaller uri ships that need the boost.

    The damage of the missles is cut to 50% with no ore assistance.
    The more powerful missles will represent the same options that the more powerful laser ammo provides regular lasers.

    The word change will occure when VES get's his comp back.

    The cannon I am proposing fires LCB augmented non-hellstorm missles instead of just the lasers. The range of the missle is upgraded to long range and the accuracy is upgraded to standard,"if needed" but the missle damage is reduced by 50%.

    The missle type can be different from the launchers selection.
    A restriction of 5 cannons per ship will be imposed and this tech can not be used in concert with other lasers at all.

    This tech uses only un boosted ammo, the ammo may be ore boosted but the ore remains untouched while just the ammo is used.
    The LCB used with this tech deals no damage, instead they assist the range "if needed" and the targeting system.

    Electro-optics and Heat-Seeker abilities both apply to this tech. The visual and audio effect will be similar to company color looking sab ammo being fired from the ship.

    The suggested price of this item would be 15k Uri each.
    This tech will only be available to the Leo outside the Lower maps.

  5. After ALL my questions (ty for explaining everything) ..I give a tentative thumbs up....might help the noobs some, and UFE's wont care...

    Potential problem : this might get costly in credits for noobs, as missiles are way more expensive than laser ammo. Using this weapon, you may lose credits on everything but BK's...... ( not sure, I could do some math but its a Saturday morning lol)

    Also with damage reduced by 50% ..I think allowing ore boosts would be OK still....and this might be the balance needed for credit ammo, as you will have to shoot WAY less rockets on a BK or whatever.

    Either way after all the pesky details I made you fill in ( covering ALL the loopholes and potential abuse factors), this seems like a goods idea for noobs ( as long as its cost effective in credits for them ).

    But before i give my final call for this idea, I wait someone who could give us math about this idea.
    I am too lazy to do it :rolleyes:

    AND... I have a question too...
    How would Chevron formation affect to these cannons?

  9. I like it, but at the same time, i feel like i don't understand, bit on the multi tasking side right now, so understanding that while working like 3 other things is a bit difficult, could you do a quick simple explanation to me that simplifies the idea a bit?

    Unfortunately credits in trade are wacky enough. GA1 has Billions down, and i see it hit down on small servers to, so i don't see much of a difference plus the credit hack still has some users remaining with those credits so...

  11. No from me and btw wrong name for your weapon, rail guns are like lasers. You should find a new name.
     
  12. Railgun isn't laser kind of weapon, because bullet is composed from aluminium.
    It has nothing to do with light like lasers have.

    Actually Railgun is High velocity long range weapon, and has nothing to do missiles either, so its true, that name is wrong.

    I'm just trying to use what is in game already, I doubt DO would be willing to create new ammo when a lil imagination can be used to explain the use of the ammo employed by this gun.

    Yes, only 5 guns are allowed and no they will not work with any other laser gun.
    I doubt imagination will be strained to determine why.
     
  14. Yada yada. A laser cannon that shoots not lasers, but rockets. Ok. But, why do we need this?

  15. I'm confused because you say that the rocket range is increased by the lasers. No way. I don't want anything that increases range. Also, the way I see it, this is a really expensive(rockets) useless(low damage) weapon. What exactly is the point and can you explain it without all the gobbledygook.

    well hes probably gonna make it so he can put it on his nooby credit ship with only 5 lazer slots... this idea seems ok at best but we do not need this in the game.

    There is no point if you could put only 5 of these to goli and rest would be locked and empty... that is just stupid.

    And that range thing is also stupid -.-'

    I don't know if you need it, you will have to answer that for yourself.
    While you are at it think of the ship or ships you own that this item may fit in and then answer truthfully while everyone else does the same.
