As we can understand your frustration with the lag situation. please know that many players experience lag issues and game screen issues when the Server has special events going on when things are newly added to the game. Due to the added graphics and the large quantity of players wanting to experience the new additions.

Below is a variety of reasons as to why you could be. experiencing these issues.

    1. Web Browser is not up to date
    2. Flash and java not up to date - or missing plug ins
    3. Cache needs to be empty
    4. Browser history may need to be cleared.
    5. Distance from server
    6. Computer graphic overload. (Graphics card slow or not enough Ram).
    7. Internet type - Wifi, DSL, cable broadband or phone connection.
    8. Programs Running in the Background
    9. Clear Flash player data: Can be done at the following link
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
(This is an actual web page - not just an image)
    10. Possible server problem.

These are all things that could be causing the issue, these are just suggestions as to what the issue might be to help you resolve the current problem.

I hope this has help in some way.
    Have a nice day!

  5. 6. Computer graphic overload. (Graphics card slow or not enough Ram).

Can you please tell me how strong pc you must have that you can play darkorbit without lags. From my experience if you can play darkorbit on low settings without lags than you can play all other games also without any lags.

  6. was having a look about on some gaming forums one advised to go in task manager >> processes >> right click on the flash plugin or generally the one that shows the high amount on memory turn the priority to realtime\high

i haven't had to relog like i normally do also did the same for the laptop for my nephew same again didn't have to relog every 30 mins or so as normal

  7. I heard about it and try it, but don't see any difference.

I know that many don't like trying new browsers. However from a personal experience, I started using the Beta Browser from mozilla. This browser lowered my memory usage from 740 to about 360. You might want to consider giving the browser a try. I use the standard version.

I hope that this helps to resolve your issue,

  13. I am really in a bad position since last time my game cant be fixed i need some help.
All the solution u talked before are tried them already , i mean i already had a smooth graphic but last week everything changed. i really cant play when i stay still the ffs is 61 when i move and there is players around goes up to 6-10 ffs. cant really do much. im using same browser i used to 1 week ago .
please tell this issue to developers

  14. It is server problem.

  15. Isn't it amazing how its always the players fault when the game starts running slow or the FPS drops etc...

I mean, did about 50 players meet somewhere and say, "Ok, lets buy all the same hardware for our PC's", then when DarkOrbit runs sluggish, it can all be 50 people with the same problem. Well no, lets be realistic.

Why don't the developers compress SWF objects/sprites?

If you run Google Insight on the DO spacemap, it goes bonkers finding dodgy coding and bodged scripts within the DarkOrbit game.

I can see that one Interceptor on my screen when I'm shooting it (By port) causes a 100MB+ RAM usage and a 30 - 40 FPS drop. How is that even possible?

You can't tell us that it is our fault if 1 month ago our games were lovely and smooth, and all of a sudden they run like utter rubbish.

Why can't the developers actually sit back and think "Wow, loads of our players have problems, maybe its our fault".

As BigPoint are consumers of the Adobe Flash franchise and using their software to produce and develop your game content, you are obliged to contact Adobe with errors and problems of which your clients are facing. Don't just push it all under the rug and forget it happened.

And if anyone else decides to think FPS is down to your internet connection, I'm gonna wrap a banana around their head -_-, because I would at least expect (Forum Support) to know that FPS is hardware based, and not bandwidth or connection based.

  16. Setting Priority/Affinity to RealTime can cause Windows to become unstable and lead to problems.

These kinds of modifications/settings cause stress on the CPU and other tasks it may be performing, forcefully moving priority to another application or process will lead other Windows components to crash or become unstable due to loss of CPU activity.
