  1. Will players experiencing the unplayable FPS conditions which include "Blinking Ship", massive frame rate fluctuations during other ship/NPC interaction and other game related slowdowns since the Contact List update please post in the current forum thread stating your current experienced problems.

    Please also tell me what GPU/Graphics Card you are currently using, ATi/Nvidia and please state if it is an Onboard GPU (On the MainBoard/MotherBoard) or a Discrete GPU (Card connected via AGP/PCI-E).

    Also a driver version would be much appreciated.

    Also include your exact Browser (most used for DarkOrbit before the problem arose).

    Thank you.

    mr_plaku™ and -oversoulpaul- like this.
  2. I am experiencing frame drops especially when I am cubing. It lags a lot when I am not cubing as well.

    Computer specs: MSI Geforce GTX 760 2GB, Intel i5 4670K quad core @3,4GHZ, 20/20 fiber connection. Web browser: SRWare Iron with pepper flash disabled.

  3. I'm experiencing both Frame drops, and 'blinking ships; excessive frame drops during cubes & PvP ( when there's a great amount of ships in an area) , and 'blinking ships' during PvP, when techs and Emp's are used.

    My computer specs, are similar to the person above. But unlike him, i use Google Chrome as my browser.

  4. I have went to a previous version of flash player and it has fixed mine, so you might want give that a try

  5. May I ask what Graphics Card you are currently running?

  6. Lagi i had same problem m8 i wrote a thread in forums about this , and i got the standard reply , clear cache ,update flash player etc etc.
    the problem is that everything started after last big update.
    i dont know they need to have a look at this

  7. Hi,

    it does not matter if you got a high-end gamer PC or a C64.... lol
    The biggest problem comes from the main-window. Keep the main-window on the ranking section and your FPS will be the best. If the main window is activated in the hangar section you will have the most decrease of FPS. (my experience so far)

  8. Current Fix For My System:

    During my tweaking, I used Chrome mainly to test these changes, I advise users to use Chrome aswell during the tips below.

    As per normal, if you are installing Chrome just to do these changes, please remember to disable PepperFlash under Chrome://plugins (as its the worst thing ever).

    1) If you are using a Flash Player Beta release via Adobe Labs, uninstall this and install the current official release via the Adobe website. Even if your Flash Player is up-to-date, completely reinstall regardless of version.

    2) Disabled Core Parking. This fix is preferable to be done or tested by experienced users, google "Disable Core Parking <your Windows Version>" (IE: Disable Core Parking Windows 8). This fix is known to only help for those with Multi-Core processors (Dual, Quad etc).

    3) Edit the mms.cfg file (Flash Admin Configuration), this can be found depending on your Operating System.

    If you are running a 32bit version of windows, you will find this file in:

    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg

    If you are running a 64bit version of windows, you will find this file in:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg

    Open the file in Notepad, by default, the file should read as:

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0 (or 1 based on your choice when installed)
    AutoUpdateDisable=0 (or 1 based on your choice when installed)

    Modify the file to read:

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0 (Do not change if this value is 1)
    AutoUpdateDisable=0 (Do not change if this value is 1)
    ProtectedMode=0
    OverrideGPUValidation=1
    UseWAVPlayer=1

    If the file won't save, you may need to copy or move the file to your Desktop, edit it, and save on the desktop, then copy or move it back.

    4) In Chrome, I enabled "Click To Play". To do this, follow these instructions:

    First of all, open the Chrome Main Menu (below):

    [IMG]

    Next, click Settings (below):

    [IMG]

    Next, click Show Advanced Settings (below):

    [IMG]

    Next, find Privary Settings and click Content Settings (below):

    [IMG]

    Next, scroll down to find Plugins, then enable Click To Play by checking the box (below):

    [IMG]

    Click Done, then restart your browser.

    Now whenever Flash content attempts to run, you must click to activate/allow it.

    5) After these 4 changes, it did not change anything with firefox32/64 (excluding Click To Play, as its different), but it did put Chrome back in the playing field of being the smoothest game experience, so I now use chrome again.

    ======================================================

    On doing all these changes, exit the Browser, clear your cache etc using CCleaner (make sure you have latest version).

    Restart Your System.

    Always make sure your system is up-to-date software wise at all times, Flash Player, Windows Update, Browsers, Graphics Drivers (Auto update tools are available from Nvidia and ATi/AMD), and finally Java. Avoid Beta drivers or Beta software releases, these are mainly used for debugging and/or developers. Laptop or Mainboard Chipset drivers are always available from your mainboard manufacturers website (commonly called INF Drivers).

    Other tweaks I have made will be made explanatory if any of the current changes don't work.

    The other changes involve Catalyst Control Centre modifications (ATi's configuration tool for AMD based Graphics Cards/GPU's)

    I hope this may help some users, if not, please post back here so I can investigate more.

    I would like to hear from Nvidia GPU users so I can verify its an ATi driver issue between Flash Player and AMD.

    As the OverrideGPUValidation=1 disables Flash Players blacklist for GPU's. As Flash Player develops more and more, it slowly leaves older GPU's behind, and ends up being that the older GPU's do not meet requirements of certain Flash Player elements. Disabling this option will force full hardware support (or up to a limit) from your GPU whether Flash Player likes it or not.

    Thank You.

    NOTE: If you are unsure of anything you should change, please, do NOT attempt to do it yourself. If unsure, please ask someone to help you change it. These hints and tweaks are designed as guidelines only.

  9. My game now performs fine over all backpages, not just 1 or 2. The problem to me, is not DarkOrbit related, its hardware and software related.

  10. Lagi i am not a good pc person and i dont know many who is. and i just cant run to the closest pc repair shop and ask them to do this for me ( i live way out in the country :D ). is there any way to make a video or get into a teamspeak with me so i can make these changes, all tho your using chrome, and i use firefox for now as it is the broswer with the less lag while playing D O thank you WJ

  11. At the moment, I use a dongle, with only a 1GB fair policy usage on it, currently I have used it, and I can't view or do anything with Youtube as streaming is blocked during this period until it resets at the end of the month (DO still works tho for some reason).

    I won't be able to make a video let alone upload it anywhere.

    I avoid TeamSpeak servers sorry to say, that also goes for most VoiP servers.

    An indepth tutorial could be made though if you want to request that.

    LAGI.
