Another Disappointment

So as most of you should know, the Battle for Influence event started on most, if not all, of the servers today. The whole aim of the event is to earn Influence Points. At first glance, I though this event was very fair. You get 2 IP for killing an Alien, and 15 IP for killing an enemy player. Well, I was wrong.

Sector Control started, and like always; nobody played. I continued to smash out the Aliens in 1-2, when suddenly I looked at the scoreboard and it looked like this:

As you can see, I was thrown from a quite-far-ahead first place, to second. I'm quite annoyed that one UFE player can quite simply join a Sector Control match and smash up a non-FE player for a free 50K IP, negating any and all work that the players before them had done.

I had high-hopes that this would be a great event and that it would get me back into playing the game again, but with the apparent lack of fairness I'm not so sure that this is the case anymore.

My Premium Subscription runs out today. I will not be renewing it, not until something is done in this game to make things fair. Had I been informed that there was an easy way for the big players to jump ahead, I would never have bothered.

Thanks to DO for letting me down yet again. Fix your loopholes before it's too late.

 

Lol i dont really play no more just thought i would pop on to see what the new quests for this influence thing is and after finding out its 400 usk and 400 ubk i logged straight back out !
What kind of a flipping quest is that its got to be the most tedious and brain numbingly dull quest i could ever think of i swear to god these people are brain dead when it comes to new ideas for this game , who the %$?! wants to waste his/her time doing 400 ubk in a game that is advertised to be a fast paced space shooter lol I swear this game is just farmville in space .

 

Your hopes are to high for Darkorbit, it's sad really, they've gotten somewhat better though but things still aren't very fair and you shouldn't expect them to be.

 

If you go to event rankings and then use the drop down menu to get to "Personal Influence" it tells you the break down of the IP, so it was never really hidden and was in a sensible place since this is an event.
MMO won quite a lot of sector controls on GB2 too so if you had just stuck around and helped your company you would have still been high ranked on IP.

 

That is true, but what is with "everyone can be top 1". There isn't any chance to be top 1 if you are not in company who is winning in this events (Sector Control or TDM). So even if you are top in your own company you can't possibly be top 1 in overall ranking. I agree event is quite new but it should tested first and not like this, it isn't treated equal to everyone.

 

True but there is in-company rankings too, what if the rewards turn out to be similar to the Solar Clash rewards? It might still be worth doing it for your company, plus this is just day 1 (for most servers), there is still plenty of time for the ranks to change.

 

also dod this event dont end till 1st of may so plently of time to catch up

 

I hope they will be same for each person top 1 at company. Also what were the rewards for it anyway?

Yea I know but I was just pointing at the problem that might occur on this event.

 

They haven't said if there will be any rewards, which is a little bit worrying. Hopefully it is like the Solar Clash event and the rewards are very nice and a big surprise

 

But what I am asking is what were rewards for Solar Clash event last year.

 

Per event winner, 3 months premium, 75k uri and 45k x4, then for the overall winner it was 6 months prem, 100k uri and 60k x4.
Then 2nd and 3rd place got reduced rewards such as 2 months prem for even winners and 4 monhts for overall etc
