Choose the best server (lag issue)

Hi, I'm a new player playing in "Global America" server, and every time I jump to another map I lag 2-5 seconds and sometimes I lag when roaming in the maps (but mostly at that times other players complain of lag as well), so my question is there anything I can do to avoid this lag ?
Do I have a chance of playing without this annoying jump lag in any other server? if yes, then is there a way to know which server is more appropriate for me without trying half an hour in each of them ?

If you have a suggestion to change some options or browsers (tried firefox and chrome) I will gladly try them

 

On the top left of your back page, click the Globe symbol. Choose the Server that is closest to you. For example, if you live on the east coast in America, choose on of the east coast servers. You will be able to reduce lag a LOT.

As for browsers, I personally use Safari and have no problems at all. I know other players that use Firefox.

Please know that there are several things that could be causing the lag,
1. Web Browser is not up to date
2. Flash and java not up to date - or missing plug ins
3. Cache needs to be empty
4. Browser history may need to be cleared.
5. Distance from server
6. Computer graphic overload. (Graphics card slow or not enough Ram).
7. Internet type - Wifi, DSL, cable broadband or phone connection.
8. Programs Running in the Background
9. Clear Flash player data: Can be done at the following link

10. Possible server problem.

These are all things that could be causing the issue, these are just suggestions as to what the issue might be to help you resolve the current problem.

Thanks for reply, I'm playing from Saudi Arabia so which server do you think is closest to me ? (have 40mb fiber connectiong)

 

No, lag is part of the game, regardless how close the server you're playing on is to you. It may reduce the lag, but there still will be lag.

And i'd say US West , although i may be wrong. (Geography isn't my strongest point)

 

Any of the Turkey servers would probably be best. Unfortunately, if you do not speak Turkish, you won't be able to chat :/ If you click on the top left of your back page, select Europe East, then you can see what server would suit you best.
