Aegis is to much powerfull

Well, I forgot to add, He had no shields xD And anyway at that time I had a good amount of bio points and BO-2s, I work on defense first, that's why I lack on LF-3 at that time.

 

That Aegis is to much powerful is good. Why? This ship costs 250.000 uridium and goliath only costs 80.000 uridium. And if you compare the price you would see the difference. The aegis normally costs 85.000 uridium without the skills. With the skills it costs 165.000 uridium. When you added the prices you see. The aegis is a little bit stronger (without skills) than goliath but with the skills they must cost 250.000 uridium.

And can look in the auction. The aegis bids are between 500 million - 2 billion credits

 

But your proposal actually makes the eagis stronger :S We do need more ammo and rocket capacity on all ships tho. I can never buy x1 to fight some stupid aliens because I'm full on sab x3 and x4 =/

 

There's a buying chip for your ammo. And BP has said they will remove the ammo limits soon...just no clue when.

 

What does bidding prices and abilities have to do with a ships strength, the Goliath is the best all around ship in the game, the Aegis is fine as it is.

 

Here is a tip, instead of complaining in the forum and making people fall asleep of your boring thread, why don't you just buy an aegis and see how it goes?

Right... if you're posting here saying "oh well just buy an aegis yourself" then this post is for you.

This is easier said than done. Yes, if you spend a lot you can easily get the 250k uri to buy an aegis, or if you have a healthy amount of creds available (500mil-ish) you can win one on the daily auction.

But not everyone can get 250k uri or maintain a good enough credit income to earn a high amount of creds. 250k uri is very hard to achieve for people who don't spend (case and point free players) and before someone says "well save up creds and bid on the daily auction then" saving up enough creds for an aegis can be hard as well.

The aegis is one of the most sought-after items in the game and so bids tend to go pretty high for it. Let's say you're in a clan with around 3-5% tax on, unless you can bash out several gates in a day it can be tough to earn a good enough credit income for a solid aegis bid. This is taking into account the fact that the clan tax will be taking a certain percentage out of your funds each day.

Of course if you're clanless or if you're not in a clan the process is made a lot easier simply because you keep all of your creds, but a lot of clans have tax on.

This also depends on how high the tax in your clan is. The average bid for an aegis (from what I've seen) on GB2 is around 500mil, bid prices on other servers may vary. Sure, on 1% this is only 5mil, not exactly a chore to earn. But in clans with higher taxes credit-earning for an aegis can become a challenge, especially as your credit funds become higher and as a result more money is taken out from the tax leaving you stuck at a certain point if your credit income is insufficient.

Not to mention you'll possibly be bidding on various other items along the way. (Ammo, rockets, mines, cloak CPUs.etc)

So think about that before you tell others to get an aegis themself. If you're a fair way beyond Full Elite then yes it's fine. I'm a Full Elite Goliath (9 drones 4 LF4s) and I tend to earn around 10-15mil per day if I'm playing so yes my income could be considered stable enough for an aegis bid but it takes a lot of time - it's not like I can just instantly put down a load of creds and get myself a guaranteed aegis. Not to mention I don't have the time to be on all-day-every-day (college... ) which tends to take my credit income down to about half of what I normally earn if not less. Also the clan leader (if you're in a clan) may decide to crank up the tax a bit at some point which of course will hinder your credit income.

Hopefully this will put an end to the now overused-in-this-thread "just buy an aegis yourself" response.

 

yes I agree it costs a lot. But the point is that it's not op. It can very easily be destroyed and when ur ue in one it can almost never beat an ue goli when both have the same skill in the game. I'm a FE aegis (9 drones and 7lf4) and make about the same as you. Aegis might seem op to optimus because hes not fe yet and can't hit over 20k ^_^.

 

Just got smashed by a UFE on my server about 8 times even though i was in an aegis with full hp and shield and using abilities.

Point is, it isn't indestructible. Even though i got smashed in it, I popped an aegis several times myself today. And i wasn't even sepped. (doing 20k damage per shot to it and they were using its repairing abilities.)

 

Bottom Line: Is EXPENSIVE

We all know is expensive and we all know how hard it is to get it with credits, and THAT´S why it HAS to preserve all of it´s abilities as they are! Not changing it because you can´t buy it!

That kind of thinking is like if I went to the car agency and I want a Lamborghini, and I ask "how much does it run?" and the salesman says "it goes over 200 mph" and then I say "How much does it cost?" and then he says "387,000 dollars" and then I say "OMG! it shouldn´t run that much!!"

Then you can´t get any LF4 because the booty is too expensive and you say "oh, they should get the damage down to 180 instead of 200"

I mean...COME ON!!!!

The Aegis is balanced out with more hp than goli and 5 less lasers.It is not supposed to me a killing machine that can effectively rep with 5 ufe pounding them.But is a support ship to help group members and allies. Because you cant pop the guy you want doesnt mean something is overpowered.

 

Agreed Aegis is fine like it is I have a Aegis but mainly fly goli cause it has more power. As for Aegis rep pod if they drop one in a fight just fly away which will either force them out of its range or they stay and rep and you get away long enough to rep yourself anyway. With either battle rep bot or pet combo rep will make it even faster to rep while Aegis reps to with its pod.

 

lol whatever. all you have say there is that you are slave to that clan lider. he put in tax and you never get some cr from clan?
maybe you shuld go out and save credits... what's the point in hellping others if they never hellp you?

I was never suggesting a change to the aegis, I was simply stating to everyone saying "buy an aegis yourself" that it was easier said than done.

I did state that the scenario only applied to those in the clan and that some may not be able to keep up a stable credit income due to things cropping up like clan tax and the fact you may occasionally want or need to bid on certain items. I also stated that people who aren't in a clan will naturally have an easier time but it's not like you can just go out there (unless you have 250k uri or several hundred million credits minimum to hand out) and get yourself an instant aegis.

 

only noob's think aegis is good. but it is not maybe for npcs it is. when it comes to pvp goliath is the best. i have all uri ships aegis and citadel are not even close to goli.

 

Yes it is easier said than done. You know what I have to say about this thread, Go buy an aegis. I saved up for two months to get my aegis before I was even fe. If a noob like me who doesn't play much can do it, then anyone can. Go get it and see how lame 15k shields per second in pvp is lol.

 

same here tazer. lol and yea the rep abilities don't do crap in pvp.
