For those of you who don't know there is now a cap on credit payouts by clan. I posted at the bottom so you could see. While the incremental increase payouts I think could help decrease newbie clan jumpers I don't think it is right to cap the maximum payout. The credits belong to the clan and you(darkorbit) shouldn't have the right to tell us what to do with them. It is bad enough that if we collect 200 million, you put a tax on the payouts! I don't know what kind of "unfair behavior" you saw but the fact is it is the job of the clan leader to help clan members get to ufe. If that means giving the member 1 trillion credits to bid and get all their stuff then so be it. They are clan credits and no matter how you look at it they belong to the clan. Please remove the cap as this has gone to far. Thanks.

    Greetings, Pilots!

We would like to inform you that we have adjusted the clan payout rules. From now, the amount of Credits a clan can pay out to their members is restricted as follows:

    · Maximum payout in the first week of clan membership: 5 million Credits.

    · An additional 10 million Credits for each week the player is member of the clan. This number adds up for every week a player is member of the clan (e.g. after the second week 15 million, after three weeks 25 million and so on)

    · Maximum payout per week: 250 million Credits

    · If a player leaves a clan and joins another clan, the amount is reset back to 5 milliom Credits.

Please understand that we had to restrict clan payouts due to unfair behavior of certain clans.

For more detailed information please look at the Clan Payout FAQ.

I believe the main issue was that people gained credits through illegal means (bot, hacks, etc.) and dump the credits into clans. The credits were not only being given out to players, but they were being sold for cash. The main issue was abuse of the credits, and then of course profiting from the abused credits is a big no no, using DO as a personal business. Hope you see now why they would put a cap and also require such a long period of loyalty to a clan to receive a 'useful' amount of credits.

I can see where your coming from. Although I am not surprised on the pushing/abusing of quests and sending newb accounts credits I wasn't aware that people were selling credits for cash. This on the other hand will not stop the abusing of sending newb accounts and pushing of credits. As for people paying for credits, I don't feel I should be penalized because somebody else doesn't have enough sense not to do something like that. As for abusing of glitches don't punish us for glitches fix em! As for the the clan jumpers I already stated that I agreed that they would slow down clan jumpers but they most certainly wont stop them. Most clans only have so much in credits to give anyway. If all I have is 50 million and I give it to the newb what reason does the newb have to stay around? Once a member gets all the credits they can they are gonna leave anyway. Even if they have to wait 2 weeks to get more from the next one.

  5. I think it's fine as 250 mil per week is plenty. If they want a big chunk, they'll either have to wait for it or leave without it. Teaches patience man. :D

Padiddle, I don't think you understand how badly abused the old clan administration system was. Players would sell BILLIONS of credits. With this new system they can not sell billions and receive a good amount of credits after months in the clan, promoting loyalty to clans for not only credits. Just like TheTaser(V) claimed, 250mil is plenty. I became FE with the help of credits from my own hardwork and help from clanmates and not the clan bank either, plus i play free, so I know for a fact that there are alternatives to lan credits. I admit that I received credits for my last iris but otherwise it was my work and help from the clan that got me FE.

This new system now makes it impossible, or nearly unprofitable for those abusing the administration for personal 'business'.

You didn't answer my question though. Should anyone be penalized because somebody else doesn't have enough sense not to do something like that? I appreciate the replies but don't reply and ignore part of what I say. That tells me you don't have a response and I have replied to everyone's responses. I myself have built myself up from the ground with only a little help from my bank of clan. I guess I must be the only one who feels this way since no one else has argued for removing the ban so it doesn't really matter. I will say this. When you're a clan with a lot of credits and no one needing them it is nice to know that you can help a new member get stronger so they can help the clan as a whole. This is the goal of bank of clans. You create loyalty by being there for your clan members regardless of how many credits you give them. That doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to give them a billion credits. Just the opposite.

Well then sorry if you feel I have ignored part of your question. It basically comes down to this, people have been abusing the system and violating the terms that they agreed to. This creates an unfair advantage, and players that have been on this game for years know how much DO has been working to eradicate such unfair advantages. This was necessary because it wasn't small, it obviously happened on other servers and became a major issue. This unfair advantage and disregard for the terms made it necessary for such an update, experienced players with years on DO understand that and many will agree to it, although I believe, and others too, that it is a bit harsh.

"Should anyone be penalized because somebody else doesn't have enough sense not to do something like that?"

Well since you live on earth you should know quite well that there are plenty of people that will abuse games, law, etc for personal gain. We don't live in a utopia where everyone is good and follows rules, some tough choices have to be made because of 'bad' people.

Yes they are the same threads. When I started playing you had to pay 500 uridium to repair your ship, even if it was a credit ship, there was no palladium for gg, there were no quests that gave lf3, bo2, or any kind of laser/generator for a 5 minute job, and credits were not refunded in the auction and the bid prices were not visible, which was recently updated. I think the new Darkorbit gives noobs plenty of help compared to the Darkorbit I knew in the past. Do noobs need free lf4, bo2, aegises, and skill designs to be happy and stop complaining too???!

I don't think there is much more that can be said in this thread and it's dead.

Why do you like the idea ? - you want to safe more your own credits , and im not care about them i dont need them - if i can send them to my brother in clan i will be happy

I became FE on my active account in may of last year, when I made a clan. I therefore have had little use for credits since then. I like the idea because countless times people have joined my clan with promise of staying if they receive credits, and they never delivered. The people that I trust most and have been in my clan the longest are the ones that never asked for credits when they joined.

My experience as clan leader for almost a year now is that loyalty is by far the most important thing to have in a clan, to guarantee that it will grow strong and credits do not create loyalty. I turned off tax and clan bank for the past few months and those seeking credits left, leaving me with loyal members that I can trust and know will stay with me. I recently turned tax back on, before I learned of the new tax system, knowing the current players I have are not in my clan for just credits. I am more than happy to give credits to weaker members but I do not have respect for players who are in clans for only the credits, so they can get stronger and forget about the clan(s) that helped them.

My clan is now rank 110 in GE1 server which is pretty good considering the size of our server.
