  1. Hi,
this might sound dumb but is there any change for a new player to actually progress in this game WITHOUT having to go premium or spend money?
I achieved level 7 and all the mission right now require me to kill aliens which can be found in the 2-3, 2-4 systems. Problem is: as soon as I leave the 2-2 system (and often even there) I get instakilled by other players 90% of the time.
So, there is no way to avoid being killed, you cannot buy a decent ship with credits alone, Skylab doesn't really help me, I cannot progress by doing any kind of missions and I'm pretty much stuck in the first two systems.
Any suggestions or is this game simply designed to MAKE you pay if you want to move forward or just give up, delete the account and forget about it forever?

  2. I played for free for years, boxing up to get a better ship, bidding on auctions as best I could to get the items I needed, your best bet is to keep it at and do what you can, get your bio, B02, LF-3s, venge or goli and your Irises up to speed by boxing and doing as many minor quests as you can, the daily quests are also a help as some give log disks or booty keys, keep going and dont get too discouraged by the instapops, you will eventually get stronger.

  3. If you build your skylab up and send cargo several times a day you'll notice that it helps quite a bit, you can bid on ships in the auction and score a Goli or Vengi for cheap (1-5 million credits) and for quests, try doing them at a time when the server is less active or ask for some help in chat with the enemies and/or quests. A clan can also be helpful and a good place to meet other players.

  4. will try to say what prev 2 players sayed but more detailed so to be more easy for u to follow
1st try to make a translation to my guide in my signatute
2nt ur only way to survive as new player is to be able to run = very fast & cheap ship = vengeange WITH 10 speed generators of 2 k uri each WITH promerium
ALL THESE EVERY TIME U R ONLINE
    3rd get 7-8 flax
4th fill up ur ship with these speed generators and... flaxes full of shields
5th lower maps are most dangerous from all darkorbit univence - and give almost nothing as return - so when u go lvl8 AND got all i told u before - go to PVP maps (4-1 4-2 4-3 / bonus boxes there give +50% more uridium than other maps) and start boxing - boxing = uridium = power to ur ship
6th get pet to help u get more uridium per hour

    these for start
plz try to read my guide .. and i am here waiting ur reply / questions mate

My tip is to pay good attention to your minimap. That will save you a lot if you can discern if an incoming red dot is an enemy player or an alien. If you can get used to this, it will help you escape a lot of potential deaths as well as help you hunt when you get to that point. Make sure you have enough speed 10x speed engine Vengeance with Promerium upgrade to escape from enemies.

  8. Now I think the easiest way how to start playing without investing money is to get Leonov ship, and do all the new quests on old maps. You'll earn about 50.000-60.000 U and grow to level which is needed to enter new and pirate maps.. Than do all quests you can, single or with group (-it's faster). And you'll grow up very fast.. But with money paying/premium, you'll ever grow even faster..
