PvP Issue

    I didn't see any links for asking this question directly, but what I would like to understand is why are higher levels basically allowed to hunt newer pilots at anytime and anywhere, yet the ones being hunted while trying to get missions done in their own lower maps are not allowed to really say anything about it? I understand this is a PvP game, I got that, but I really think there should be some kind of restriction on it for newer pilots so they can have fun also and get missions done, myself included in that group.

    The way it is right now, that aspect of the game could easily be misused to the point of possibly causing some to quit the game if being hunted like that continually in their own lower maps. If the "full PvP" were to be reduced to the 4-x battle maps and the upper maps instead, that would give new pilots some breathing room to better prepare themselves for a more even combat field. I'm not saying full removal from the x-2 through x-4 maps, but only to the point where they can get quests done in their own lower maps without an attack-on-sight from a rival company unless they started the fighting first. If they went to the maps of their rival companies however, then they would run the risk of being shot down.

    PvP should be fun, not abused.

    And i see what you are saying, and there is something like this and it's called training protection, but that ends when you finish all the starter quests. For me it doesn't matter so much because i mostly hunt in the upper maps. Maybe there should be a restriction or something like this, but what i'm thinking is that it should be implemented by the levels of the attacker/attacked. If the attacker has 5 or more levels than the attacked, then he can't attack him, but if the lower level player shoots first then he can be attacked. And this rule should be applied in the lowers only. I think it would be a little more fair for the newbies to start playing the game a build up a ship.

    So then, do I just re-make it there or can it be transferred over? I can agree that the 5+- level range could work good, but would not totally fix it for the lower maps. The idea I was suggesting I think would further prevent the over-hunting of new players in their own map set though. Something of a "half-PvP" in that regard for the lowers.

    How far did that training protection go on the quests anyway I wonder?


    Edit: this could also in turn allow the players at mid-game to work on the devolarium and siblon quests as well, unless there was a level restriction to a certain point for the half PvP or something.

    Something has to be done about this...too many are able to use the PvP system in its current state to constantly hunt newer players with absolutely no regard for letting them work on missions necessary to progress and get anywhere in their own maps, effectively abusing the PvP aspect in that manner.

    Also, while I do see what your saying, in the old days there was no protection at all. It used to be eagerly anticipated that when you reached (I think level 12 back then) that you could then raid the enemies x-1 map as it was like any other map. My first 2 minutes in the game I left base a pnut and was destroyed something like 5 times, and this was before I even knew these were real players and not NPC's, and I didnt even know there was a chat lol.

    The way it currently is now does help some with that, as in addition to the x-1 protection and x-2 enemy warning, there is now free basic repairs. Think back to then before there was repair credits we used to get killed in credit ships and had to pay uri every time to repair ouch! and of course no starter quests at all or any type of help.....

    Your idea could be good but would also have an impact on higher players doing their own PvP quests, so it really is a circle. I would suggest that for now you find a good clan as that will help you more then anything in the beginning stages of the game, tho you never know what ideas they pluck from here to implement.

    Hope this helps a bit, and was fun thinking of the old days for a minute...

    Yeah, I guess you do have a point with there being a bit of a circle, but to be honest the current PvP system setup for the lower maps also effects the future player community. If high level players are allowed to continue to abuse it in that manner as they do now, it could cause players to quite the game more than they would stay playing it in the long run. Even a half PvP like I was talking about in the starting post would improve the game for new players without totally removing it from lower company maps.

    Edit: Plus more newer players would mean more potential competitors later on in the higher maps if that change was made. Players that could actually fend for themselves better and provide a better challenge, both for themselves and any higher levels that try to fight them at that point.

    while i understand your frustration i also have to say that we included myself didnt have any protection system and yet we grew up and now we included myself are some of the finest spacepilots out there.

    Enjoy the game, try to make your ship stronger and when time comes and you become strong noone will be able to bully u around.

    I can see where you're going with that, though some measure I believe should be taken to improve things. Its frustrating enough as it is being a newbie in the map trying to get missions done, without having to constantly run to a gate because of high levels roaming your own maps looking for you, without any regard for what progress you are trying to make.

    great PR dream, how many noobs flying in your x1 map and of those how many work up to a leo.
    the game needs new blood. its 2 games pvp and pve, u can't play pvp until spend lots of time playing pve or spend lots of money.
    getting hit by someone with whites once or twice then u pop is no fun.
    i haven't been here long enough to have answer, but the game doesn't have many players, at least while i play
    we need new players

    I'm guessing you're one of those that like to hunt the newer players then, sounds like that anyway. Whether you recognize it or not, players are literally abusing the "PvP" aspect by doing that constantly. If you want to see more new players in the later maps to have challenge fighting against, it needs to be reduced.

  13. Actually no, you can ask many people on my server, if im hunting and i see a noob, i tend to leave them (Unless it's a goliath) and i help them with bosses sometimes. Like today, helped a newbie kill a boss dev then left him be, and i was on a goli mission too but i let him go. If i'm hunting and i can't find anyone and all the big players re hugging port like the panzies they are, i'll kill who ever and what ever i like in this PvP game.

    Considering i come from the most populated (from what i hear) server, i don't think we need more :p
