Using WIFI

    I have to use wifi to play. I used to be able to play. But then a few months back. The game client stopped working. It just loads and loads. But the game won't start.

    I can still access the part where I get the log in bonus it's just the game client that won't work.
    I also did a system restore a few weeks ago. So the problem is not my laptop.

    Any suggestions?

    Sounds like the firewall on your wifi is blocking the ports DarkOrbit gamepage uses. You will need to log into your router settings and open all ports.

    lol system restore that makes more problems then it fixs try updating your flash and cleaning your browser files

    Thank you for assisting this player with their issue.

    Once you have checked the firewall situation,

    The recommendation is to clear the Flash storage data.. which can be done through the link below:

    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
    (This is an actual web page - not just an image)

    delete All the websites in the Website Storage setting Panel.

    The third option would be to try a different web browser.

    I hope that some of these ideas help to resolve your issue.

    I looked up login into router settings. And it appears you people think I'm referring to home WiFi. I do not have internet in my home. I'm using public WiFi. If I was home I'd use a usb cable to the router.
    And I'm an older person who did not grow up with a computer. If my firewall is somehow blocking me. When before it was allowing me to play the game. How do I fix this?
    As for updating my flash. After I did the system restore. I spent two days installing updates. Which included flash. And I had to re-install the browsers. So they don't need cleaning. The browsers and all the files were erased when I did the restore.

    Since it's a public network you cannot change the wifi firewall, since you cannot place it on the public wifi but you can at home I am completely certain it is the wifi firewall that is blocking you, however there is nothing you can really do about it.

    You can try contacting the network admins who run the public wifi but that is literally all you can do to try and get it fixed.

    It sounds like the public wifi owner saw how much data it was using, and cut it off.

    As they are correct the firewall on a public WiFi connection could be the problem.
    This not something that you can change within your computer.

    You can try locating another public WiFi location to try.
