So many update and idea in the update & idea pool, Ideas are meant to be updated!

=) So wonder what it would feel like to have a whole new type of darkorbit? one that's made just by every players?

First off I live in the united states and as an American, I know that the jury system consist of the minorities opinion too! if the minority doesn't love it, then they should have a chance. Why can't we just apply the same concept into Darkorbit?


To make the minority idea's stand out, darkorbit should add in a new test server that comes out once or twice every year and lasts for about a week. Many of our previous test server shows us what DO is going to release, but why not just have the new test server be players idea's that are in the update & idea's pool and have it included into the testing server, we would all get a ton of uridium, then we get to test it out onto the new items from the update and idea pool, and play around with 5-10 different types of ideas, no matter how silly it may be. This should range from LF-5, Bo-3, New ships, new designs, new ammo, etc. and its all created from the players idea's that are in the forum.

This idea helps the darkorbit team reach out to the players, and the players reaching out to DO and perhaps we can all have out ideas actually be tested and hopefully we all choose to hate LF-5's and we don't have to see it in our own server ever again. Then a new test server comes out with 5-10 different ideas again, and we can be able to choose to accept it or not into the game.

lastly, I would like to say that perhaps we could make 2 different test server at a time so we wouldn't over-crowed one server, and we can separate the ideas so it wouldn't make another idea look bad.

I do hope this idea actually works out, so we can actually test out every other ideas there is.

I'm sure many would quit, there are good idea's in the update and idea section but most are awful, I like and don't like this idea lol, I suppose since there's testing first then it would be good, good luck getting all this to happen though ^^.

 

There are A LOT more bad ideas in the forums than there are good ideas. I don't think that it would really worth it, and would be just a waste of time. Why force the programmers and developers to spend time on something that everyone hates.

 

LOLZ I think you want them to put in some of the great ideas floating around
that would make the game better or get new players to join/stay.Sorry but the
bean counters are rejecting most of them. TBH most minorities don't stand a
chance in this world(real/cyber) It's all about the money Idea may need some adjustments Good luck.

 

There are some really bad ideas on these forums i would quit instantly.

 

that do sound interasting, but it is not posible to do lol
programers would need many months just to turn 1 of those ideas in to working program, and cost way to much.

 

here's the thing you guys are not getting this, let me restate.


First we would have new ideas, like uhh prototype ideas, DO developers and programmers have to design it, but not actually try and fix any bugs and make it super perfect, since we will only be testing it for 1 week. And they have about 6-12 months every time they release it, good enough for prototypes

second these aren't permanent, and last only one week, in a different test server, they will not actually be in gameplay in your own server, its just a test trial for many ideas that just of course.. last a week

third I would like to point out, I know how there are many idea's out there that darkorbit players hate, but not exactly 100% of them hate the idea's. There are players who actually made these ideas and shared them with us, I am just asking for a chance to add several into testing prototypes, and if we still hate them, then it wouldn't hurt anyone because we tried them in testing servers.

fourth, the idea's that most players hate can actually be favored by them, I mean hey, you really don't know if you like it or not if you really haven't tried them out, and with the new ideas maybe we will turn out to like the idea and then the players are happy and then bigpoint can get money and the people who made the ideas are happy. Its a win win.


please do reconsider, im not trying to do anything lame here. only trying to put this idea of mine into a prototype stage

Just because they are "ideas" in the idea and update pool DOES NOT MEAN THEY SHOULD BE PUT IN THE GAME!!!

 

All i have to say is...if you let ideas here be tested on a test server. you'll find yourself getting instantly popped by VESPIDS 1 hit k.o super cannon or some rubbish like that.

The best thing devs can do is have a look at the ideas and mark them as either 1) looks good, will develop in near future; 2) looks good, might consider in due time given more feedback etc; 3) needs more feedback; 4) not good idea, close thread.

So that players know if their ideas are being looked at at all.

 

lol this isn't vespid. It's someone else, you do know there's like 10 others in this forums that have ideas as bad as his.

Seraphim, I'd like to say that all ideas are tested, including the good ones, not just the crappy ones, who knows, maybe we will turn out to like the crappy ones and hated the good ideas we thought were good, IDK its just how the developers picture what we picture and put it in and give it a shot, Id say if we do make a new testing ground for all ideas, probably only 1 out of 100,000 ideas would actually be loved and made into our game, but right now I do think that we should just give every idea's a reconsideration, there has to be those pro's and con's on every idea, if not then they wouldn't be an idea to begin with now would it?

 

I don't want to test 100k crappy idea's to find 1 good one and I don't think the dev's should waste time with all that nonsense lol.

Ideas that do not sound good in writing aren't going to sound good in real life.

 

So you think that the devs should spend weeks to months coding 1 idea and you want them to do everyones ideas 1 idea after the other just so those people will not learn and keep posting mostly bad ideas?

Do you realize how long it takes to code a item in a game?

Let me tell you it takes awhile. Even simple items.

If they closed down the idea and update pool right now and took this idea up. Just the 1st page of the update pool would take them about 10 months to put on a test server.

 

With this dev team, it will take 10 years to do half the page >_>
