I am a paid player and this is getting seriously irritating.

1.Experiencing lag in transitions from section to section between "Hanger" "Clan" "Galaxy Gates" "auction" etc.

2.Experiencing serious lag on the client page. Have died once in both my Gamma and Zeta gates (once in each) directly due to this lag. The only thing that moves on the screen is my ship...my pet is frozen...enemy and friendly players freeze and twitch as if they were parked at a gate. Unfortunately this has resulted in deaths from enemy players and NPCs. I have followed the directions on various lag fix directions and have deduced that this is not my issue...but a Darkorbit issue.
    Please sort this out.

  2. Here are a few things I can suggest to help reduce lag, clear your cache, try a new browser, close your back-page completely while in-game, if you have auto ammo purchasing CPU's, you don't need your back-page for anything, try the clan page or pilot sheet if you keep your back-page open, lower your in-game settings to the lowest possible for everything. Many players experience lag, it can be for a number of reasons from something on your end to most likely something on the DO end, paying or not, lag needs to be fixed for the players.

  3. Close your back-page - never thought of that one

Pray to the Old Gods and the New. DarkOrbit/BigPoint will sort lag out when Hell freezes over.

    Lag.
    LAG
    LLLLAAAAGGGG!!!!

Everyone talks about it, they blame it when they get killed (If they are not making "you're a cheat" accusations ;) ) They blame it when they lose a gate (even if the pizza guy turned up or the cat took a stroll across the keyboard) and they blame it for just about anything else as well.
Lets look at the 3 ways your online game can lag out.
    1. Server lag. This is when the lag is caused by server load, or a programming error (dodgy update for example) or something similar and this will effect everyone on the server playing at that time. If there are a lot of people shouting about lag in chat then you should probably avoid doing galaxy gates.

    2. Connection lag, also known as "Ping". This is the time it takes for your mouse click to reach our server and for our server to respond back to your computer. This is dependent on your connection and also the distance from your computer to our server and how many hops it takes on its way between the two. You can have a 50 megabit connection but it if you are playing on the other side of the world from your server and it has to make 50 hops for your data to get there and back you will be dead before you even realise that you have been shot.
My ping on a good day is 25ms, on a bad day I have seen it over 1000ms.. (that is over a second) and the game is totally unplayable and there is nothing ANYONE can do about it.
Dont believe me, Jump on your games console and join an online match on COD or Halo or something similar and look for a game where the host has the worst connection possible. Then play and see how hard it is to even get a shot on target, That is if you dont get killed by an opponent that you didnt even see. Then join a match that has a really good connection and you will see the difference. Ping is VERY important.
Also if you have other people sharing your internet connection you will get issues, You are playing your game, Your mother is using netflix to watch a movie, your sister is video chatting with her friends, your brother is downloading por.. music ;). and your dad is using Xbox. All of this is eating into your available bandwidth.

    3. Lag in your System. You can have the most powerful gaming system imaginable and still get lag on Dark Orbit. This is because DO is a flash player game. Flash player does not care if you have 8 processor cores, 128gb of Ram, SSD instead of mechanical HDD and 4 graphics cards as it can only operate on one CPU core at a time and can only utilise 1 graphics core at a time. SO If you are running the game, and screen capture software and TS and Vent and Skype and media player, and your torrent client and so on you are generating lag and you should expect to get problems.

The only one of these that we (Darkorbit) can do anything about is number 1, and we do daily server resets to clear Caches, we keep on top of updates and we react to server issues as soon as they become apparent. I admit that we drop the ball occasionally but in all we do a pretty good job at keeping things running.

Number 2 is down to the phone companies, even your direct service provider cannot make this better

Number 3 is down to you. Clear your cache, keep your system up to date, use anti-virus and anti-malware software and keep that up to date and dont have too much running in the background and you should get a much better experience when playing.

Lag is not criminal and if we could fix all types of lag then we would.
    Regards

Harley, well done you have once again tried to avoid the number one issue.
Those are four reasons why one would get lag. Now please explain why every other game (that has the same 4 reasons) is capable of providing me with a better quality play experience lag free?

    Would som
would someone from support be so kind as to inform its players at what speed aka megabits Big point is useing because from my understanding if player [ A ] has 50 megabit speed and trys to connect to a server running at 2 megabits of speed the best you will get is 2 megabits however internet providers only state that you will get speeds up to half of what you have.

  8. Enjoy the game.

Closing as lack of response from OP.
