Explanation Please.

I was attacked by this player in 2-4, who was in a leonov. Try as I could, I could not even lock onto this player despite being in a Lightning design Vengeance.

I jumped into 4-2 & repaired to about 80%.

I cloaked up & jumped back into 2-4 & moved towards the centre of the map.

Next thing I know is that all my shields are gone & am down to about 15% of my hp & found it going down further.

I used an EMP which should have stopped the attack had it been a Venom' ability - had it been so, but it definitely wasn't.

Further, you can back-check your data & you will find that I did indeed use an EMP.

Furthermore, there was absolutely no ship or npc near me.

I would like an explanation for this - I am an old a player to know that whatever it was, it was out of the ordinary!!

 

You can't lock on a player because your connection was laggy. You can still move your ship but everyone else is stuck. Then, you get the news of the 100k damage they've been doing to you.

.-ŚìζvєŖ†βuζζєT-., It is likely that you were experiencing a moment of lag in the game. I have had similar experiences in gates where the minimap shows the NPCs far away but I start taking damage, then it catches up. I may have been an Internet connection issue at the time you were having the issue. Unfortunantely there is very little I can offer for an explanation as there are too many factors involved. Even something as a scheduled antivirus scan running can cause lag.

I was showing 60 fps playing an AMD FX-8350 eight core pc with a Radeon HD 7970 graphics card & have not had lag since using this pc - & that includes Spaceball as well as Crazy Cubes & gates.

The issue here is that I jumped back into 2-4 CLOAKED from 4-2 & headed towards mid-map. All the npcs around me moved as normal. The other aspect is, as I pointed out above, despite using an EMP I continued to take damage despite being on full speed.

Even had I had lag, I should have been able to outrun the leonov & would have done so even more so after the EMP use.

Clearly not lag, if he did indeed EMP. then whoever was attacking him would have still lost lock. This clearly makes no sense, i smell foul play.

 

omg u do no emps aint 100% and and emps don't work str8 away if you have lag so give it up with clutching at stews demons

 

I know all this, however there is a big fact some you seem not to understand.

I jumped into 4-2 & then cloaked up & then went back into 2-4 after repairing to about 80%. There was nothing in sight when I jumped back into 2-4.

Furthermore, this player had no drone designs & I don't recall seeing either an Apis or Zeus drone, however they were hitting a lot more they should. I was using heart formation with shield booster & had ~800k shields. There is no way that this player could do the damage they did under normal conditions that quickly.

I play on GB1 & player name is -»PΘΘŖMΛП«-™ & am very difficult to kill. Also, I am a very old & experienced player. At that time this happened, there would have been a light payload on this server.

Also, when I noticed that I was taking damage, there were 2 enemy players shooting a boss sibelon with several npcs around them, all moving as normal.

If I did have LAG, not of this would have been possible. I just play the game & get on with it & have not complained before about other players despite the fact that a number of them that I have come across are renowned for being able to do things that are deemed beyond the realms of this game!!

 

I know what poorman is talking about it has happened to me too and i play on the same server as him. im on port but i was being hit and i didnt know what was happening. and it defo wasnt lag either.

The best answer to this was, indeed, lag. The fps only idicated the rate at which your computer is able to process the graphics information available. Other factors are packet loss, server latency (ie time taken for the signals to bounce between your computer and the game server), graphics can also freeze without affecting the average fps displayed. This is not a complete list by any meas but illustrates the pitfalls of internet gaming.

If, as you say, 'foul play' is at work then I am sure that the player will eventually be on the receiving end of the improving bot script.
