Deaths caused by Radiation zone does not award shooter with kill.

Just as the title states. If you want the kill, follow the guy into the radiation zone and continue to shoot him.
So, if some guy starts shooting you, you fly into the radiation zone, and die by radiation damage (without having taken damage from the shooter in the last five seconds), the shooter is not awarded with the kill. But, if the shooter continues to shoot the person, and it has been less than five seconds since damage was last received form the shooter, then the shooter will still get the kill.

You realize that's already how it works? If you're in the rad zone long enough without them following you, they don't get the kill if you pop. You're better off letting them pop you though than popping via rads.
Plus, if you're an aegis with double cooldown boosters you could stay in rad zone indefinitely (yep i've done it because i was too lazy to fight 5v1) and if a goli chases you in, just fly em to the 16k dmg per second bit, start shooting, and drop a pod. They'll usually pop before you do
