  1. So the recent Skylab Changes have completely removed sending ore back the Skylab. Dark Orbit released this patch to combat the exploit of people being able to send over thousands of Seprom to their ship, to put on lasers, rockets and generators.

Great. Another exploit out of the game that people now can't abuse. However, the job is 50% done.
You now face the problem that there are people running round with millions, if not hundreds of millions worth of seprom on their lasers. For new users, or those that didn't take advantage of this exploit, it makes the game ridiculously unbalanced.

There are ways this could be fixed, either you up the production rate of the Skylab, making it produce and store a lot more ore. The other option would be to completely wipe peoples refinery upgrades who have unrealistic amounts of seprom attached.

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to seeing some replies, and hopefully seeing some fixes implemented.

N.B: I didn't post this here by mistake. In my opinion it is a general game issue that I would very much like to see something done about. I didn't fancy posting this anywhere where it definately won't get an official response.

    Notorious and Triester like this.
  2. well what would be an unrealistic amount I have 3 mil sepped up lasers from signing on everyday to send sep to ship when wasn't able to play. did it for a couple months it builds quick. I know people with 8 mil sep lasers by limited play but sending everyday so not sure what would be a unrealistic amount.

  3. Well, there's people on GE6 who have about 250 million seprom on their lasers. That is unrealistic.
The situation is one of them that's going to need investigation and input from the users, but it simply can't stay the way it is, it makes the game unbalanced.

  4. its just seprom on lasers... calm down

  5. Lol its just sep...you must be one of em...I actually talked to a few of these people who were exploiting this. They had anywhere from 25 mill to 150 mill rounds of sep on...and knew people who had more....So yeah.....1 BIG imbalance...And DO doesnt have to remove everybodies sep...just those who have the nearly unlimited ammount of sep on.

Sorry But I don't believe this is exploiting. We run our Skylabs and upgrade them because we need the Sep on lasers, rockets and the skilltree.
Hell its pretty much fuel too. I have lots of sep on my lasers and rockets. I also have to upgrade that module 2 more times to be at lvl 20. upgrading to lvl 19 takes about a week. Now that's why I'm hoarding sep on lasers and rockets. Well that and the fact that I just can't seam to find any LF4 lasers in the bootybox's. It's a lot of work upgrading your skylab it also takes a lot of time. Stop crying work on your lab and start putting the stuff on your ship. The real issues is the lag in this game. Not sep hoarding thats just part of the game. Anyway what would you have us do with the xtra sep our lab puts out, just let it sit in the lab and not use it? Be real! Figure out how to use your skylab and stop trying to stop others who have already figured it out. Good luck and have fun. Remember it's a game. It's should be enjoyable not a place to stress you out.

  7. Star*Fire how much seprom do you have with lvl 18 skylab on lasers now? lol
i dont understand what are you trying to say

  8. You missed the post by a mile, but don't worry I'll explain quite simply for you. The send to skylab function was recently removed due to the fact that there was an exploit in which you could send endless amounts of seprom over.

If you've played genuine and not taken advantage of this exploit, you should be fine. If you're sending over seprom, waiting a couple of days for it to generated again, then sending it over, you have nothing to worry about.

My problem is I don't want to start out on a new server, and have to come up against these players with unlimited seprom on their stuff because they've exploited an aspect of the game.

  11. You must turn off your prometid and duranium refineries and you will get resources needed to upgrade. Refineries consume everything you earn immediately if collectors are in same level as refineries, at beginning you should keep your collectors at higher level.

(there is a little power button when you click your refinery at bottom left corner of the info screen, press that and refinery will go offline)

I believe he doesn't know what was the seprom exploit and why this change was made.

See when I started working on my skylab I fill my first 3 modules from my ship. That gave me a head start on the rest. So by removing that option in my book was wrong. If the issue is sending sep back to the lab they should have took only that option away. Now if I wish to save xeno in my lab so you don't make a mistake and shoot it all ya can't. Sorry to tell ya but everyone hoarders sep on lasers and rockets. If you don't you don't stand a chance. Kinda like me running into a ship filled with LF4's. So start upgrading your sep module and shipping the stuff to your ship. let the hoarding start. Plus that's the name of the game isn't it. We fight each other. So start working on those upgrades it takes a bit. Have fun!! if it's not fun don't do it. Life's to short.

Your right I don't. When I'm moving rocks to my ship to sell. I'll drain my Prom. refinery when its is as close to empty as I can get by moving the max amount each time. Then I switch to sep and drain it the same way. Which is split between rockets and lasers. To tell ya, I have a few mill. on lasers and a few 100,000 on rockets. I'm also a free player with about 1,541 hours of playing time I've reached lvl 17 soon to be lvl 18. It's a fun game but when you don't pay to play you need a good system and you most treat it like a job.

  14. You want a sep cap - heck no. If I want 3 million sep on lasers all I have to do is not fire on anything a for a few months while sending sep to my ship and your rank will go down in flames accordingly.

  15. No one said anything about capping anything. Don't know how many times I have to say it having hundreds of millions of seprom isn't fair, unless everyone is given the same opportunity to mass produce seprom.

  16. I no its a pain people having mills of sep on lasers but just like the sep on engines bug they will just have to let it run out

You are talking about caps. How are you not? The skylab makes the stuff you put it on your ship. Unless I'm missing something. Let me ask this: Explain to me what this so called exploit of the skylab was and how it was done. This just seams silly. Folks who play this game stock up on things. I know for sure that there are a few players out on the maps that have 100,000 whites and 50,000 x3s from rewards from spinning for gates and doing gates. Should we also cap those because it's not fare to those who have not completed them yet?

  18. You are missing something - quite a lot actually.

The point was that people were sending 9k seprom to their ship and when seprom arrived, they did put it in their lasers but at the same second they sent the seprom back to their skylab. The problem is that they got 90k sepped rounds but the 9k seprom went back to skylab. People were getting sepped rounds without losing a single piece of seprom. That "bug" was very easy to exploit so they had to make it impossible. That is why the option to put stuff back to skylab was removed.

There is nothing wrong with stocking up things. I can't see how this update is making it harder? I am sending promerium and seprom to my ship just as I have done all these years, I have never needed to send anything back to skylab o_O

You can still stock up anything you want and as much as you want.
