Important!

I remember when, in 2011, I would fly to a jumpgate and there would be at least 3 ships there. Now, there are barely 3. This is a sign that DO is waning. We all know that. If we, the players and BP want the game to survive, it needs a change. Before this idea comes under a hail of criticism, let me tell you that I am not wining, I posted this for the good of the game!
Ideas:

1. Take out the LF-4 and refund the uri players spent on them (plus upgrades.). Personaly speaking, I have been popped by people that do astronomically high dmg. IDR what they were but they keep going higher. I bet about 60%, at least; of the people here agree: The cannon ruined the game.

2. Lower the package prices. Other games like Roblox offer a larger money to cost (in USD) ratio.

3. Remove the Zeus and Apis drones. Who cares about two more iris-like drones when everyone was fine in '11? Just make up some excuse like "the LF-4's proved to be too fragile so they were taken out of action etc etc etc". This will attract old players.

Please make these happen! I would hate to see my favorite game go out of action. There has been talk on other threads like "DO is dead" and "DO died" and all that stuff. Pleas make these happen!

DO is dead but most people that say that usually don;t want the game to change, hell these idea's are okay, I don't care either way but sure why not.

you know how hard would be to pop someone?
personally i think lf-4 is not enough we should have lf-5 now, maybe you don't see benefit but more dmg means more free uri for free players.
they should put lf-4 in shop and let every one to get them easy, not take it from game.

NO! i would quit if this game didnt have lf4s and apis and zeus / upgrades/ drone designs. and i think a lot of other people would to.

How about this:

They create a server which has none of the new client stuff. Create an new server that literally has all the same maps but only lf3/bo2 without upgrades or lf4 or drone designs.

btw whats so wrong with new things in game? when you get to that point when you can not upgrade your acc anymore because you have it all, whats the point in playing then... it is boring to do routine stuff every day (gg,fight with same ppl,cubes) it is not interesting when you don't have the ways to improve or work for something new.

 

You can't equate a uri amount to LF4 Herc havok apis or zues, as the odds for getting them have varied so much between players. Some people would cry, so would go laughing to the next mega hour shop specials.

It is better than letting everyone get them way easier, as people who spent money would crap their pants. Event though there is no deflation in this game which there ABSOLUTELY should be...but I digress.

The OP's suggestion isn't bad, but you would have to get rid of hercs too as another poster mentioned, and that may be too many roll backs. We are stuck here

Last thought....All the now UFE who spend for uri would stop, as they would have millions..or at least many thousands from the equipment refund...gate bashers have over 100+ LF4' by now. Any new players who get attracted to the game are not likely to spend much either, so DO would initially lose a large amount of revenue.....even if player numbers went up.

 

Money or not, this game needs a major renovation.

 

Like sparta said, I'd love to play on a new server without the changes from last 3 years. Last months I have even been looking for a game, like darkorbit was 3 years ago.. Unfortunately I could not find it.
And yes, refunding uridium for lf4/drone designs and apis+zeus would not be fair as getting them was often luck based.

 

You clearly underestimate the power of LF4s. Max LF4s, with all upgrades, plus sep and boosters melt away shields like they don't exist. Not to mention that you can get Moth formation, which makes it even more like it that shields do not exist.

 

lol do you even have all lf-4's?
this game is not just pvp. it is if you are rich and spending couple hundred $ every week. i like dmg easy to make uri easy to fight with players. i have all lf-4's and trust me i know how now pvp looks like and it is not that hard as you think it is. yeah my opponent can do 200k dmg but i can do it as well so it is not like he/she can shoot me down in 2 seconds.

 

All the stuff you just mentioned, those are the things that's even keeping DarkOrbit going for now. You want to kill it completely? Lol. I doubt DarkOrbit will go about 2-3 years of logs to check people's accounts to find the exact amount of uridium they spent on the stuff to refund.. (Refund? Bigpoint? Hahahahaha).. Taking out all those things would just enrage ALL the wallet warriors or those who even pay for rebate/prem packages..

NOT happening.. Very very bad idea.

 

You guys are equally matched. If you got better weapons and better shields, this same, exact thing will happen. Battle between you guys will last the same.

 

The Bio and forward should be cut.

 

We have to leave the game as it is for a few years, as adding more weapons and shields (possibly ships, depending on their roles) will make people quit. The game is just starting to gain new players as it got "Reloaded" and most of them quit whenever the UFEs/Havocs popped them one, two many times.

Take out the LF4, Pilot Bio and Drone Designs: A mass number of People will leave.
Put in stronger weapons and shields: A mass number of people, including me, will leave.

The gap between new players and the top of the line experts at the game is wayyyy too big and if you keep increasing it, there will be no one new to play the game. Right now as it is, new comers cannot survive a UFE/Havoc for even 3 seconds. Back with the LF3s being the best, you at least had a chance to run.

But peeps have gotten used with the LF4s and Design stuff being around, so the game should stay there as it is, just keep fixing the bugs and adding cool new events that everybody can do, possibly new NPCs and maps that Havocs/UFEs would have a hard time against, just like a pnut with one LF3 against a BK :3

Ideas 1 and 3 are no, you can give me all the uri spent but that doesnt give back the time spent on acquiring it. You wan tthe game to get better, make better events, assist noobier players, create new maps etc. Removing things that are part of pvp is not the way. when there were only lf3s, people were complaining that that was too much to deal with. Sadly this is a game of prey and predator in which both sides are given things to outwit and out maneuver the other. I hate to say this , but i think sometimes, we just have to be willing to shell out some money in order to even the playing field a bit.

Also lets not forget the flight of the botters. Many of them stopped playing because they didnt want to put the work back into the acct.
