forum title

Why is the forum title one rank above the trophy you receive?

When you make your first post, you receive a trophy for forum newbie, but your title shown when you post your first post is, forum-greenhorn.

I would have thought that your first few post would have the title forum newbie, etc. Then when you reach the desired requirement you would receive the trophy and title at the same time, rather than the title and next lowest rank trophy.

 

Thats a good question. I am just gonna post like mad and see what happens next haha.

 

Lawl, Personally, I just don't get the deal with the Trophy stuff, never really made sense to me :3

 

Hello All,

The new system is a little different from the old one we had before. The Trophy system is a new a fun way to add to your forums experience. However enjoying the forums is not about the Quanity of the post... more so about the Quality. I would hate to see infractions for useless spam done to increase your post count.

Wait, so the more you type in one comment, affects the... you know, trophy stuff?

 

KilerStreak - No, only the number of postings count - however you can consider it a friendly reminder that frivolous posting just to boost a post-count will probably end up with a lot of spam warnings, and a ton of deleted posts along the way. Your post-count (or any trophies related to it) is really meaningless compared to the knowledge and advice shared - hence, why we prefer "quality" responses in the Forums.

-Pacman2- - A simple way to look at it, is that you only receive the Trophy for "completing" the required posts for that rank. So whilst your title will indicate your current progress, your Trophies are more a reflection of achievement.

Lol, I know, but as I have said before, I do not care for my title, I just wanna share what I know xD

 

I get what is happening, but it just seems a bit strange, when you get a trophy for something you also gain the title at the same time, I do not know of any other situation were you get a title and a trophy for your last title at the same time.

It would be like say a sports player getting a trophy for 2nd place and the title of 1st place. it just does not seem logical.

Also you never have the title forum Newbie as when you make your first post, you automatically become a "Forum-Greenhorn" and get 10 rank point for it. Which also does not seem logical.

I would have thought that we would first have the title Forum Newbie for the first few post, then get the trophy and title of "Forum-Greenhorn". As the title and trophy would show that we had made a few post.
The trophy would then reflect the achievement of becoming a "Forum-Greenhorn". Which would seem far more logical and reflect the norm, in relation to trophies and titles.
