I would love to be able to test new equipment before I waste a ton of uridium to buy it and learn it doesn't work as I thought it would.

Is there a possibility to make a sort of equipment test server, so we can test whatever combo of ship and equipment we want (for free, of course), and see if we want to buy that, or something else. This may sound as an odd request for most people, but then again, most people first try a pair of shoes before they decide to buy them ;)

PS: I think it would be an excellent advertisement for Darkorbit

Please leave your comments, thank you :)

No thanks, it would just be a waste of space. It's not like there are 30 types of lasers and you want to see how each one works.

If I buy a citadel and then I see that I don't need it cuz it's powers are not helpful to me n its firepower is really limited, then I wasted 300k uridium for a simple test!

I bought a PET just to see if it would help me, but it didn't and when I asked earlier today if I can get a refund, they said NO REFUND, you bought it, you don't like it, but you'll have to live with it!

If you have any idea how to avoid this in the future, please enlighten me, thank you!

I like the idea but I'd change it a bit...
Reading your idea now makes me wanna change to testserver and play there lol..
I'd say you can only try something out 3 times a month, 1 Time ufe aegis, then ufe citadel then ufe speahead for example ;)

A pet is a big purchase. By now you should know how much of a uri suck it is.

  6. believe me, the pet is extremely useful, even though they come at a price (fuel)

I know now, but MY POINT is I didnt know how useless it is till I invested uri in it, and if ONLY I had a test server or a simple test map in existing game, I could have learned how it works BEFORE I wasted my uri in it!

That's why I suggested a test server, and you said its a bad idea o_O

Honestly man, would you buy shoes before you try them on???

Honest it is dumb to suggest a test sever just so you can see if you like something.

I mean look at the test servers bp puts out to "test" an item before they put it in game. Barely playable IF you can even get it to load.

And would you have to buy/collect the uri yourself or do you think bp would just give it to you since it sounds like the test server would be open 24/7.

No it would be a better idea to put most items (no lf-4s) in trade. That would be more pacrtail for both the player and bp.

LOL, your idea is uber dumb, do you honestly think that DO would put aegis n citadel on auction??? or skill designs??? and they cost 250k uri each! or even PET, without the fancy gizmos that go with it? Then they'd go bankrupt man!

    THINK McFly, THINK!

And why do you think that they would allow players to test what they buy? They want you to spend money without knowing if you will like it or not. Whats the difference between putting Aegis and Citadel in the auction than testing it out? The only difference is that you are buying them for credits.

    Hah Nope

EDIT - I would like a 'Test Run' Feature added on to darkorbit which means it will give you the certain item for free but for only an hour and you can only test run something every week, (so people don't get the item continuously) Also once you have tested the item you can not test it ever again

    Just Sayin

Honestly man, you have NO imagination at all!

For example: its X-mas time, a 12-yr old kid got $50 as a gift and he'd like to buy himself something in DO, but he has no idea what ;) so should he buy a trinity pack, or a PET with all gizmos? Whatever he decides, he'll soon see that he wasted his money and next time he'll just buy candy and firecrackers instead :)

Now, if only he could've tried his options first, he'd see that he needs aegis, a spare hangar and put rest in bio or apis :D

Bottom line: I'd never EVER waste my real money for something I cant try first! I admit that there are some of kids who would, but not many, considering the recent economical situation. and even those who mistake once rarely do so again ;)

Sure, its one solution, but test map would be better, cuz if its outside the normal game, it cant disbalance anything :)

So suggesting a "test server" that would be open 24/7 is more practical then trade. They are going to waste all that time and resources on another server just so players could login to it, get free uri and see if they like something. Then that player is going to log off and go to the main server and "play"

Do you honestly think that BP would put out a test server that just give you the uri to buy it and then leave that "test" server open 24/7?

LOL, Sorry folks, I thought there are a few ppl on this forum who actually have brain, but since this is a game forum, I obviously overestimated you.

If you'll all feel better, I agree with your suggestion:

Lets have everything for credits, lets delete uridium as a concept, ALL stuff should be bought for credits, except Lf-4, which should be won by chance as before, and booty keys should cost 1500000 creds each :D Yea, I'd love that, wouldn't everyone?

Unfortunately, I'm not so sure that BP would like your "uber-smart" suggestion, therefore I leave it to you to publish it and see for yourself ;)

Best of wishes to cooljak96 and Full_force and

    Marry X-mas, microbrains :D

You do understand that when you post something in the Idea section, you are going to get criticism. No matter how good you think your idea is, some people will always disagree with you (for whatever reason that believe). You should learn to take criticism from your ideas. If you can't then maybe you should't be putting your ideas into an online forum.

You are being rude. You are not going to get people to like your idea by insulting them. No one will come back to this thread if you insult them. I promise you, that once Full Force and I stop commenting on this thread, it will get lost with the rest of the posts in the idea section. No matter how good or bad they are.

You don't seem to be actually listening to what Full Force is saying. He is saying that if YOUR idea happened, there would be no difference between getting rid of uridium and having a 24/7 test server.

Well, at least you understood my opinion on your constructive "its a dumb idea" criticism, and you proved you have a few microns of a brain after all ;)

Now, if you'd just actually READ my whole idea and explanation next time, I might even thank you :)

PS: If I see what I consider a dumb idea or an idea I don't fully understand, I simply don't waste time to comment, since it saves alot of trouble for the author as well as myself!

Its 6 sentences long 8 if you count the rest of the post which is not the idea.

    What there to miss?

And if you don't want anyone posting that disagrees with your idea since you can not legitimacy back it up. You should have not posted.

Why don't you simply read it again, instead of wasting your time on photoshoping a pic of some kid and his laptop?

And if you do, TRY to understand the idea before saying its dumb and suggesting something even dumber ;)

    like this, for eg.
