Potential Changes that could be done..

  1. Morning all,

    This post will include all the changes i could see being introduced on the game, whether you agree or disagree please reply lets try and actually get the DO brainiacs, if thats what they are, to notice this post.

    First off id like to see the Ammo and Mine limiter removed, with GG spins easily taking you past the ammo amount on your ship its hard to have ammo room, same goes with mines. Also i understand why the limiter was introduced in the first place to stop the box botters earning ridiculous amounts whilst not even present at thier computers, however after DO finally successfully shut down the botters i would of thought the limiter would be removed, i speak for many boxers when i say the constant, "You cannot gather laser ammo because your cargo is full." is beyond annoying. Also if you removed this limiter youd probably get more people buying the box doubler.

    Second idea i want to see happen is the removal of all forms of Jump CPU, both the advanced jump cpu and the x1 jump cpu. The reason being is that the jump CPU completely killed off the battle maps on a already dieing server, recently the domination event breathed some life back into the battle maps for which we havent seen in years. If you remove all jump cpus players will once again have to fly through 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4 to get from uppers to lowers or vice versa. With luck this might bring back the old days of active battle maps, remember the days of being escorted to uppers? ahh fun times!, tbh you could even keep the advanced jump cpu but edit it so you can only jump from uppers to uppers or lowers to lowers, food for thought.

    Third idea is regarding the Crazy Cube Event. Im sorry but 70% of the players on GB1 struggle to grasp the idea of crazy cubes and havent a braincell among them, they run about popping the 4 cubes in each x-6 map like its just standard cubing. My idea would implement cubes spread out over 4-4 map, maybe 8 or so over the map would be sufficient, meaning the amount of people doing CC's would be spread out and maybe just maybe some of us might actually be able to do the event properly and earn a decent amount.

    Another idea i wanna see is some more big npc quests, this is because i like doing them, for example the 2000 uber saimon quest was damn tedious ill admit but it kept me occupied, id like to see a 1500 bk quest, or 2500 sk quest, 2000 bsk quest, 500 cube quest, you know real big ones for level 21's and up. Gives players an incentive to reach 21 to get those levels unlocked and will keep them busy for a while.

    Great post, one thing i would also like to see is the amount of npcs in x7 maps dramaticly increased too, currently the x6 maps are always the map of choice for players due to the earning potential of cubes. An increase of npc numbers in x7 maps would increase the allure of the map thus increasing the numbers of players to use this map. It is just an idea but I'd happily do anything to remove the allure of pally and get the players back on the bks like in the old days.

  3. I agrred with all of these point to be fair, and all of the reasoning. GB1 is dying out, and we need some ways of putting life back into it. I can fly around in the battle maps freely and not get attacked or see anyone. its simply not a battle map anymore.

    as for the ammo, I aggree with the limiter being removed but potentially only on some ammo forms, such as mines, and x2. x3. But maybe leave it on for UCB-100 ammo (x4) because as for the original reasoning of the limiter, people with that much x4 ammunition just ruin the game for newer players because they can not advance, so our server does not get any new players who stay more than a week or month at most.

    as for quests i aggree. I stopped using my account before the quest system changed back in february i believe it was changed. But the quests are too easy. The hardest one i have found so far (im level 19) is a few uber lordakias. Maybe siblenits.

    Basically I aggree and would like all of these changes to be made as it may well put life back into GB1 and other dying servers

Would keep the home jump chip is a good tool in battle and only takes you to x 1 map if you are vengy anyway or a spear at least it is good and doesn't bypass the b maps can see people wanting to get rid of the advance jump chip though. Moving the cubes to say 4 4 wouldn't help just cause more chaos specially having more enemies to deal with and still won't change the fact people still will kill the cube off fast as they can. And ya dunno why they didn't put a 1500 bk quest when they have what 400 ubk 400 lil ubk quest stuff like that

    bigpoint should adrees the problem of program users such as autolock etc than people would use battle map more

  6. Point 1, I agree because it is useless now as ammo from galaxy gates is always kept anyway.

    Point 2, I disagree. The jump cpus are so convenient when you are needed in a hurry. also with them gone pushing would easily occur here with people "camping" at 4-4 waiting for people to try and come through and kill them. Then, with the person trying to go to uppers/lowers desperately, they will keep trying to go through, hoping to get lucky and ofc this would be handing the campers free kills.

    Point 3, I very much agree but this would not occur as we'd make more uri and bigpoint wouldn't want that because less people would buy uri or people would buy less uri.

    Point 4, I agree... as the next quests are rubbish and too ambitious. uber saimon are so hard to find so they're forcing you to buy pet locator which is an idiot move. So quests that are about the more standard npcs like kristallons, kristallin, lordakium etc would be much better. Also, i think we need big hunting quests too, like the 1k goli quests
     
  7. I agree all of these points, but i want to add just one point that is missing here.

    That is ship warp system, witch allows you to change your location between any map, where you have added your other ship.

    Therefore removal of jump CPU's would put new players even worse situation.

  8. Some good idea's except for the jump CPu removal and your new version of the Crazy Cube's event which would probably be even more of a mess and laggy.

    My input as a noob i like being able to jump to the uppers when x2 x3 x4 are hunted by the dominate co. they don't hunt noobs in the uppers there that often as ufes run around and would kill them easily. and in 4 months no one has helped me much as for escort that game is gone; noobs are left pretty much up to themselves!

    ammo cap should be lifted or at least mines have their own category i have tons and don't know how to use them(noob)
     
  10. A BIG BIIIIIIG NONO to this.
    I remember very clearly how when you go to uppers and lowers through the PvP maps, there will
    ALWAYS be people that just sit at the ports an camp there, waiting for noobs to jump through. It's always going to be unfair to them since they won't be able to get access to get up into the upper maps until it's cleared.

    The ammo cap being removed has been considered by BP for a very long time now, they are planning to implement this back soon.

You see thats what im saying, people who hunt never run into anyone in the bmaps anymore, so what if people camp in bmps, then you just fly round, or get escorted up to uppers, when i was a noob i always got popped jumping into bmps to head uppers, didnt cry about it part of the game, the Jump chip definatly needs to be removed or editted. If you dont like being shot at youre on the wrong game.

    This wont be happening, because we have warp system, and all new cool stuff, witch all make your idea futile try.
    BP. wont be implementing this, since if they do, very many will leave this game.

    Only solution witch could help with PVP maps is to put access to new map there, where you cant jump with chip.
    But we still have warp system, witch messes things up.
     
  13. I agree with everything except number 2. I sincerely doubt that the jump chip has destroyed the game. If you are in a pvp, and are being attacked, you are unable to jump chip or jump portal. Secondly, Jump chip is also part of strategy that you have to acknowledge. If you are in enemy maps and completing a quest, and are out gunned, moving to a safe location and jumping is strategic. And also, if what you are saying is that people stop flying through pvp maps in order to get to other maps, then I can see your point, but you can access all lower maps through ports without use of pvp maps, only issue i see here is that folks skipping pvp maps in order to get to uppers. That I can agree, but I have been playing for more than 4 years, and pvp maps havent always been filled with flyers so much. In upper maps, you can access enemy uppers via 4-5. SO removing jump chip for the purpose of PVP is a bit unfair.

    BUt I like the other ideas, especially the removal of ammo limits. I think we shouldnt have a limit on ammo. HOnestly, the only ammo you cannot buy is whites, and we can get an unlimited amount of that. SO why not remove the cap?

    As far as crazy cubes, 8 would not be right,. the servers or atleast players computers lag badly when the event takes place and you are in that map. Perhaps, as suggested in a diffrent post, make 2 of the cube virtually indestructible and the other 2 reg crazy cubes. The only catch, is you dont know which cube is indesrtuctible because it appears to be losing life but in reality it isnt. BUt your ideas are great with that one exception.
     
  14. Looool, that's not gonna work with the UFEs now.
    Back then they were FEs, they would be easier to escort through or escape.
    But now the UFEs deal so much damage, that noobs won't get a chance.
     
  15. I have three ships in 3 maps...none of it will help your concept. If I poof I just leave and I come back later (respawn). I stay in various maps all the time same ships there - all have their needs. You are just running one ship all over the place.

    The BM will be a disaster like the x-3 and x-4 maps.

Well removing any of the jump cpus would be a terrible idea,As survival is the main focus of the game and I will not let my self be destroyed because some guy has 100% accurate locking abilities and tags me as if I was never using emps...some times the only option is to hit em with dcr, and slowmines and jump chip out when you can.

You clearly didnt play in the old days then, Jump chip made people lazier, yes more convienient perhaps but lazier, old days you had to fly up, you had no choice, thats what made BMP's so fun, since the jump chip came in bmps died out. Now i understand why the weaker players would want to keep jump chips but i personally dont see the point.

    and regarding CC event, the extra cubes would not be in x-6 maps, the server already causes majoy lag at 4 cubes in x-6 maps, my idea was to spread some extra cubes out over 4-4, you would think more cubes would equal more lag, not neccesarily, lag isnt helped by a lot of players in the same vicinity, so throw in crazys on top of that, as many here have experiance the lag can be terrible. if theres more cubes it means less people on 1 cube, meaning, with luck, a little less lag.

    but again these are my opinions, thankyou to all those who've gave thier input so far.
     
  18. indeed ships and power are more advanced, but the idea would be that UFE's would help the noobs get to uppers, with luck anyways!

  20. I have to disagree there, i dont think the aim of the game is to survive, id probably say the opposite, the aim is to shoot players and npcs, level up, get stronger. And regarding what youre saying about autolocking, im not sure if people still use that do they? after they put thier foots down about botters i thought people went back to playing legit. Well i personally cant remember the last time i jumped port and someone had lock on me from middle of the map.. maybe some still use it i dont know, but thats up to DO to stop.
