CBS Defense Idea

  1. Yeh thats why I like small servers with a fewer amount of people :p Wow 30+ people all hitting x4 at like 40-50k that CBS will last 2 seconds with all them hitting the hull :p
     
  2. lol yeah its a pain, we have seen 100+ before, so bad lag gets terrible lol a crowded server and 150 people all in one spot gets nasty lol.
     
  3. Wow 100+ players :/ my Computer would crash probably xD 50+ players that attack a CBS can easy pop all the modules without using much ammo

  5. Lol yeah I play west with you so I would know lmao. My clan lost a base to vru uncloaking on the center, a lot of vru died though lol. On GA1 it's just out of hand.
     
  6. The CBS does need some sort of protection or redirect, like an ISH. Maybe it should have double the hitpoints or something, as it stands now it is far to easy to just target the hull and bypass the other modules of the CBS.
     
  7. Even though I am not strong enough to be of any significant use to CBS defense, I agree with this idea. If a CBS can be popped simply by just destroying the main structure while ignoring the modules, what is the point of the modules?

    I think for each shield/laser module up there, it should be an extra layer that people have to get through. Give the laser modules more oomph. Have their hits actually mean something. Make the shield modules be more useful and have them mitigate the damage going in to such an extent that only about 5% gets through and a percentage gets completely absorbed if shot.

    I think someone mentioned the Hitac scenarios where hitting the superstructure without hitting the drones was a pointless endeavor. Use that as a basis for helping out those CBSs. Give the CBS the same kind of protection there.

    I think the CBS should be at least more powerful than a Cube seeing as most of the people who are able to build them and maintain them can pretty much solo cubes.
     
  8. I'm not sure that an additional insta-shield would be a solution (isn't that kind of the point of the Deflector in the first place?), but I agree that some sort of extra defence would be worthwhile.
    Perhaps a 10% damage reduction to the Hull Module for each of the other Modules remaining? So if all of the 8 outer Modules are still intact, then you would be doing 80% less damage when attacking the Hull directly.

No. deflector only work on the whole thing, the point is, when a cbs is being defended people just uncloaked and shoot the center, why should we waste uri upgrading rockets and laser mods if they wont do anything? then they die from the center being destroyed and we still have to pay to repair them.
     
  10. I understand the problem which was raised. My point is that I think an alternative to yet-another-shield would be a better option. I think having immunity from attacks is a little over-powered, so a way to just take less damage might be more suitable.
     
  11. In no way is it over powered compared to 50+ players uncloaking and only shooting the center. you fail to realized the meaning behind this idea.

  13. Deidara_artist has proposed that the centre Module should have an insta-shield until the surrounding Modules have all been destroyed. This is to prevent players from simply targeting the Hull immediately and destroying the base outright without needing to deal with the other Modules first. I do understand the problem and solution they have raised, I just think that complete immunity from attacks seems overpowered. You're welcome to disagree - I'm simply offering an alternative.

    However, I don't have any objections to the idea raised by the OP. Any extra longevity to help the CBS survive would be worthwhile, considering the expense needed to rebuild it.
     
  14. I don't see how you find it overpowered. Come play GA1 watch how quick an eic base goes down to the 50+ vru un-cloaking on it, bad enough they all botted to get their power, now they use it with numbers to destroy bases instantly and waste thousands of uri. When I played west, 1 member in our clan had all lvl16 parts, she always repaired and used them, but enemies just hit the center didn't bother with the modules, it ruins the idea of the modules even being there, and wastes our time and uridium.
