Hitac Real life Prize Discussion

  1. Hello all forum staff and participants,

    Id like to start this thread to see if i have a leg to stand on for an issue i have and look to receive support for it to see if anything can be done for me.

    Last March's Hitac event i participated putting money into it for capsules and every day i sweated out the Hitac and its minion's. I recently come to find that I had won a prize of a value of over £1000 in my email.

    Now I did the Hitac event and was contacted with this email a fair time after the event to which i then started a job straight after the event working away for a prolonged period of time in a country that does not have internet access, therefore giving me no clue that i had won this prize.

    I contacted support having a chilled and fair approach in my words and got told i could not receive this prize, so ... I asked if there was any way of compensating this to me in or out of game at a way lesser value to help me out as this was a life changing prize to me as i worked for charitable companies and volunteer work in that time period i worked away, again i was told "no" in that tone.

    All I'm looking for in this thread is support to see if I "deserve" anything in return or if i have a case of being compensated in or out of game as in game stuffs is a click of a button and doesn't incur Big Point any loss of earnings anywhere or to anyone.

    Any feedback from Admins, Developers, Producers and Owners alike would be much appreciated and discussed accordingly and fairly in an adult manor.

  2. They gave you the prize so you should recieve the prize or if not something that reaches the same value. If not then its rubbish cos they're just giving you false hope and basically scamming you. No doubt this would be one of dark orbits money saving tactics
     
  3. i totally agree with shock, they shud give u the prize u won or summit of equal value. you put the hard work n cash in for it. so they shud cough up n pay out x

    I will present this thread with a mere observation. If I am not mistaken the prize was given to BigPoint by Razer and even if it wasn't given then the company bought this product in the attempt of hosting a competition in game. The company have done everything they said they would do; they hosted it, they set up the capsules and they emailed a player to receive the prize. Realistically how long would you wait before considering another player for the prize? I would be willing to bet that they waited for awhile and seeing as they hadn't heard back from Rat, they did the next logical thing which was passing the prize on to someone.

    I do in a way feel bad for playing Devil's advocate but why would you keep a product that will in time lose value when you have heard nothing back from one player? I understand that without internet access it was impossible to see but I also fail to see just why this is supports issue, how are they supposed to know?
     
  5. 1) How is rat meant to know?
    2) They are supposed to deliver the prize to the rightful owner, there was no expiry date on the prize so they can't just take it back. and if they start doing this they're just gonna scam their players.
    3) What about the in game prizes? What if someone got the lf4s but didnt notice till they came back after a long break? would dark orbit take THEIR rewards? No they wouldn't because this person now posses the reward.
    I cant help but thinking that you're only arguing against him simply because you don't like him.

    Yeah, there was.
    Players had to respond within a couple of weeks after the emails were sent out so DO could get the info of where to ship the prize to. If the player didn't respond then it got given to someone else.

    It's a shame but DO isn't really at fault here, they did what they said they would do.

    Much as I would say you should get what you won, there was a deadline to reply to the mail(s) sent by the team afterall and if there was no response, the dice was rolled again for another winner.

    You can't really blame them. Sucks to hear that that happened to you though.

    Unfortunately this is not something that we can help with i'm afraid. There is only one place where you will receive the relevant answers and that is from support. We cannot debate what support have told you, if they have told you something then that is the case.

    I'm sorry but this is simply not an issue that can be dealt with in the forums, and for that reason i will have to close the thread to prevent further spam.
