Bonus Tab

Is the bonus tab working now? Does anyone have any of the nostromo (diplomat, Envoy or Ambassador) designs?

 

Working in what sense?
I know that if you did the friend bonuses previously (for Ignite or Lance) then all your friends must still be active in order to receive the new bonuses.

I have seen a video of someone doing a damage test with the ambassador but that is it, never seen any of the bonus nostromo in-game.

 

I think he's talking about the persons that already had 25 friends, and got the ignite design , if they will get the new bonuses also

 

I actually thought the bonus tab didn't work since I've never even seen anyone with any special nostromo designs. Let's say someone has 25 friends invited and got his bonus from them, can another 25 people be invited and the bonuses be gotten from them if the previous 25 don't play anymore or didn't make it to level 10-12?

 

Has nobody seen a special nostromo design in the maps? (other then the razer one)

 

Asking this rhetorically, not accusing...Are these accounts real or like many people do, create fake accounts just to get bonuses? I know a lot of the former botters do this. Once a cheat, always a cheat. No answer needed. Maybe DO has a way of distinguishing the real versus cooked up accounts? Or DO quietly sunset this due to abuse? Thinking aloud here.

Just wondering if the bonuse are validated somehow. If the accounts you are gleaning from for bonuses were determined to be invalid for some reason, the may not be counting.

I have no use for this feature so just questioning if DO got smart about it (doubtful). Anytime DO cracks down on something, innocents get caught up in it too. Have heard talk in the past from some users they create accounts to get bonuses. The cheat community is a like a cockroach infestation, can never quite get rid of em. They always try new things.

Maybe your bonus buddies accounts got invalidated from an error by Support. I would email them and ask them. They are quite helpful.

All the accounts must come from a different IP, if just 1 of them ends up playing on the same IP any of the others that were invited or the person who invited them then the person doesn't get any rewards.

I think the fact that they are so incredibly rare is a good indication that is works and people can't just cheat to get it. If they do then good luck to them - 25 different proxies / vpns and drag all those accounts to lv12? That's a lot of time and effort lol.

 

Yeah but you and I both know there are players who would resort to that. The cheater community has no ethic other than screwing everyone else to get more for themselves.

 

There's bound to be someone who has done it - but it's obviously not a big problem, hence why most people have never seen the ships before. If it was a problem they would be everywhere.

What do you suppose they do for this half a dozen people who manage to get the nostromo designs? Have a full raid on their house to check their computers for proxy or vpn use when they were making the accounts and getting them to lv12? :s
The current methods obviously work fine.

 

Obviously it's not a huge priority...or a sign of laziness...cheaters dont like to do actual work...which is why they use workarounds. Probably the risk vs effort vs reward doesn't appeal to them. But I bet there are guys who have attempted it though..lol.
I just look around the maps these days at all the guys I saw botting who are still here, wondering what nonsense they are up this time...lol.
