No thanks. You can easily give a friend your username and password when you are bored of the game, have them "hack your account", sell everything, then claim to have gotten hacked. If you spent over $301, then you already have made money off of this.

Do you not know how hacking works? They type in your username manually, then use a program to put every single word in the dictionary into the password bar. Most people don't secure their passwords enough, making it only a single, simple word. This allows people to get hacked more.

  7. But still that is the person's fault for not securing their passwords enough.

  8. that doesnt work on darkorbit, the way people get hacked on darkorbit which ive seen happen dozens of times is they share accounts and someone wasnt trustworthy and decided to take it for there own

Not all the time, I got my account hacked once and I never shared any information with anyone.

  11. if thats true then my account would never make it anywhere since all the hackers on our server hate my guts for exposing them all the time

This is horribly wrong. Just terrible misinformation.
It is very very possible to have your account stolen without any of those methods you listed above. Just one example- clicking on a website and picking up a key-loger is a great way to get any type of account stolen. There are many ways that people can get thier accounts stolen that are relatively hard to prevent unless you have a very good understanding of how data is stored and transferred. So please know your stuff before you start calling people liars and such.
Also people are able to hack into government and bank databases. Google "ethical hacker". What makes you think a Dark orbit account is so secure in comparison. Not saying it happens that way but it is very possible.

  13. As you quoted .. (not saying it could never happen)

What use is a DO account to a random hacker?
If some one steals an account this way, its
obviously going to be someone who plays and who has
picked you out for being gullible and someone who knows you !

This goes back to the :
A long as your have a secure Computer & Email
    and
DO NOT Download software from your so called friends.

Im sorry, but if someone is silly enough to be that irresponsible
and there knowledge and computer's security is that poor
    then they only have themselves
    to blame.

Dont remember calling anyone a Liar ?

  14. The main way people get hacked is when they try to use bots! This is because they have to input their username and password etc and most of the programs are not actually bots but people who want the account. The other way is people who dont play much anymore but want to stay up in the ranks so they share there account. Basically the main ways to get hacked in the first place is by breaking the rules.

A counter-proposal to Darkorbit insurance should be adding more security. Such as when deleting equipment such as lf4's etc you have to accept a confirmation email first before deleting it because to be honest no one in the right mind deletes there own LF4's and things.

  15. My account got stolen beacuse a person hacked in to my computer i have no idea how he maneged to get in my computer and remotely hack me . i have never give anyone my Password/email to anyone . my computer also has security .
''(no insurance would cover someone for being stupid)'' so how am i stupid ?

  16. Another well known game from blizzard have a keyring that the account holder buys for 10 pounds and it is then linked to that account, When you want to log in u press a button on the keyring and it gives u a random code that lasts for a couple of minutes, If it is not entered in time you simply press the button again and in the unlikely event that anyone could hack this device there is a 100% guarantee that your account will be returned in the same state it was in last time you logged in...

That is what Bigpoint should be aiming towards and not charging you for something you are already paying for.......Apart from a small fee for production costs of the keyring etc.

  17. I would pay for that twixabella Not exactly alot of money and it would ensure safety for all users, i dont see why bp dont do this. It would increase there reputation which they should be working towards. - Animal GB1
