its time that new and old players start posting about cheats on this game the people that are doing it and is big point going to sort it just posted all the kills of all the auto lockers that i have met so far .omg there is loads cm and mods turn a blind eye so i suspect they could be crooks too hopefully not .but there u go so this is it .all u people that pay money into darkorbit start posting all the cheats i dont no but the ceo of bigpoint might do something.this is gb1 server

  2. CMs and Mods cannot do anything about the cheats. They are not developers. If you see Someone cheating, record them and send the proof to support. Support are the only people who can do anything about these players.

    Hello,

Well, I don't think flooding forums on it will help in quite the way we might want when it comes to those who might be playing less than fairly. There's a number of threads that have cropped up on it recently that have touched on it, and it's a never-ending matter in chat. We see and hear what you're saying, but as VintageAion has said above, there isn't anything we as members of the moderating team can really do about those playing unfairly in these instances. It's not that we've turned a blind eye, or that we are in league with it, but members of the moderating team are players, just as you are.

Whatever exists in the realm of cheating is up to DarkOrbit to resolve so that those playing unfairly can be dealt with sufficiently, and I'll add that today that means accounts caught are terminated. It's not a staging system anymore to warn players off.

Unfortunately those who would play unfairly plague games so it's never just a once & done solution to put an end to it. That said, DarkOrbit does still continue to work against them, and we'll continue to pass along what we see & hear from you all about it the best that we can so they know this is still an ever going concern.

    Regards,

  4. In OILDAILY's defense, complaining to Dark Orbit support - even with honest proof - is not always productive nor is it an uplifting experience. So many times I've gone to them with information or questions on the problems (including proof or enough data for them to query on) only to be dismissed or treated as less than a valued customer.
You don't want it in the forums as it is customer facing....you don't want to discourage players who have a right to know about the exploits so they can prepare for them.
Even posts in Speakers Corner often get closed too quickly when the topic of cheats arises.
If we had confidence in Support and Dark Orbit's developers to quickly cope with problems, we might not feel the need to post here. One of my clan members reported to us a group of a particular MCC all of whose players in the hunting group were using the Training Area queue exploit - click to get into queue than run around attacking other players but cannot be attacked.
I would hope Dark Orbit would start permabanning repeat exploit users (and cheaters in general) which might stop nonsense like this.

A very prominent cheater, banned for account sharing, had his account restored. Explain that please. Many of us are skeptical that there is any true permabanning done. We've seen guys nailed on the first of the two-stage botting crackdown become chat mods. How is that enforcement? Lot of us are fed up. Lots left. More to come. No punishment for bug-using. I'll get cited for my comments or banned for them. But the game is not clean by any means. No one fears banishment because they know it's unlikely they will get caught or use bugs that DO is slow to respond to, even slower to enforce bans on.

    Hello,

I want to be clear about something first, and that is we don't allow cheaters as mods. Anyone caught cheating is disqualified entirely from becoming a mod in the future, and those on team who have been caught in the past were promptly removed and would be today still. We feel strongly about fair play and we care about the example we need to set as moderators in that regard. We ask for honesty from each other on the team, and we don't tolerate having people on team who behave in such an unbecoming way as to play the game dishonestly. This is something we care very much about, and support corroborates with us in that.

As for threads about cheating getting closed, (imo) it is a bit of a by-product of the cheating situation over the years if anything. Many are passionate about the subject, and rightfully so, but it also comes with a lot of flaming, accusations (because here in forums, and in chat as well, they are accusations) and in some cases people posting information about these things that really just supplies free advertisement of the programs in question. That doesn't mean being knowledgeable on the subject is necessarily a problem, but sometimes how we use the energy we spend being upset about it can be. So accusations and flaming continue to remain against the rules, and those who post program names or links will continue to receive appropriate bans (infractions here in forums), and when a thread is on it's way to falling off the deep end or just utterly rehashing what has been so many times before, it may very well end up closed.

As to those who get their accounts back from things like account sharing, there's not much that can be said specifically as we can't discuss what actions are or aren't taken against players with a third-party. However, I will say that while account sharing (buying/selling/etc etc) is against the Terms & Conditions and punished, it's not something that is currently treated the same as if they were caught botting - which is where the once & done comes into play.

Is it possible to be punished for abusing a glitch? Yes. Is it possible to lose an account after X number of offenses? Yes. But I don't think building fear over this would be the way to go. We all are here because of a game. I believe games should be fun for the player, and I don't believe instilling ban-fear is necessarily the way to go. However, I realize that awareness that these things can (and do) happen can do that regardless.

Anyway, I am not saying that everything is perfect or that there aren't things we all might have concerns about. Only time is going to tell what is coming to the game, and what is in store for those who are determined to continue playing the game in an unfair manner. A lot has changed over the years (I won't say that everything has), so I will hope that there is something this year that will allow for you and maybe others who feel similarly to feel more confident in how these things are addressed.

    Regards,

  8. Solid i some what disagree. You contradict yourself from your first post to your last post. In saying " Whatever exists in the realm of cheating is up to DarkOrbit to resolve so that those playing unfairly can be dealt with sufficiently, and I'll add that today that means accounts caught are terminated. It's not a staging system anymore to warn players off. " Whats the difference in a program flying your ship and someone other then the account holder flying the ship? There isnt any difference, the account holder in both cases are not flying the ship.

The only way to be heard is to speak. And not to long ago DO sent a mass email out saying bots and cheats were gone for good. Sure that was the fact for about a month and bam right back to where it was before. I personaly think you all jumped the gun in saying the bots were gone for good as every lock has a key so to speak. And the OP has a good point. Last time you all let the game go down hill before fixing this issue. It can go to much more down hill before it hits rock bottom.

In my humble opinion If you cheat in any way your account should be gone. By allowing tears and lvls you are allowing ppl to break the rules set to protect the players of the game. If you dont earn it honest its not worth having!
