R-IC3 Ruined PvP hunting

I'm sure Id prefer eat the Ice-cream, without the nuisance feature ... the game changes but without input the future may not suit enough players...

But yeah they "can be annoying" but you know whats worse? When your fighting an UFE with 3 people he popes two and he almost died but the he emps cloaks and craps out slow downs, that's makes me a lot more angrier then the ICE rockets. If your UFE and you cant get kills in a regular map then you either have zero skill or your not waiting for you enemy to get low enough on HP lol >;d

The rockets wont really effect pop or catching other UFE unless your in a group because they will EMP cloak an run, as for Semi fe and fe you should be able to grab the lock of an UFE and hit them with it before you pop but be careful they can also freeze you right after you freeze them and drop a slowdown on both of you for added effect.

 

For all those that HATE these things.......Do you also hate the regular DCR's? Yeah I know they do slightly different things, but basically same outcome. So why whine about the Icy's so much when no one cares about DCR's?? I really don't get it. Could someone who hates these so much, but doesn't mind DCR's, please explain the difference, and why these get you all mad but DCR's don't???

( I stated my theory above, that these are cheap/free....while you WW's paid for your DCR's) If it is something other than this please explain.

EDIT : Your reason can't be "we already have a slowdown, its not necessary...." that argument won't cut it, things change all the time, I want a REAL answer.

Okapi came closest when he mentioned the graphics on them don't work perfect...Now THAT is more like a real reason, I want ones like that...NOT stupid ones like my example.

 

I don't see those rockets as something bad but it makes the game even better, there is no fun about getting easy kills and those rockets make it harder to hunt so i like them.
My advice is to keep always those rockets on hotkey and to use vengance because you can get off the ice with Lightning Afterburner

 

Also as PIC stated these are kinda like DCR, but one more thing they DO miss their targets a bit often so it is not always 100% plus there are still ways to get away while getting hit with them (Unless your chased by a group)

 

Dcrs are annoying yes but not many players have the luxury of spending 500 uridium to slow someone down the problem is darkorbit gave every player that did the cold gate (wich almost every one did) 1000+ R-IC3 rockets wich means almost every player in the server is packed with 1000+ Rockets so if every player has these rockets then you most likely are going to get hit by these rockets while your trying to hunt or anything in general.

See if darkorbit just had these rockets for sale only it wouldnt be much of a problem because not that many people will be willing to waste 500 uridium on 1 rocket most people would rather waste there uridium on other things.

yeap .when I just fight with others .especially some top user players who are known for running through all the maps just so they don't die .they slow me with dclr . slow down .and freeze .and when they are in a group .they are still the ones that slow you. seriously .this game is done . no more pvp in it .cuz everybody just runs . pvp was one of the last reasons why I played this game .and since the stupid rockets have been introduced , I've hardly played ,gg bigpoing, we had enough stuff to slow us down . nvm the range .and emp cloak and run like hell with slow down mines ,and dclr rockets . but no u had to add this also .for free . seriously ,I sometimes wonder who makes those stupid decisions instead of focusing on something else

 

i hate those rocket iv got 4k myself i use them because everyone uses them against me. i hope they remove them from game or atleast make them so you can only use them for December or the winter months

 

idk why everyong hates them so much People ran befoe they was even introduced anyhow so only other option of you dont want poeple to run anymore is make ever map like the battle maps and let demizons on lat for 2 minutes at a time.

All have just 1 counter, the EMP. You have the ability to use 6 things in a single fight and you can only counter 1 of them before at least 2 of the others come back off cool down. The IC3 is a much better version of DCR and SL mines, it has a bigger firing range than lasers.

However that is not the most annoying part. I cannot begin to guess how many fights I have had, with UFE alone, where as soon as they realize they are going to lose the fight they use a IC3 and that's it. For just 20 uridium they are able to back away from a fight with another player who has the same equipment as them but I was the better fighter so they can just decide the fight is over and leave.

Sure, the get out of jail almost entirely free card is definitely no reason to hate them. They have ruined regular PvP. It is far, far easier to get out of a fight now with these rockets than it was when people only hit 20k damage max.

 

Ive been watching this thread with interest and I have to say that amongst other posts. this post by Okapi32 seems to sum it up for me... I repeat that I hope they run out and dont come back in a long time!!

But seriously I see where your coming from but the rockets save my weak ass , dumb dumb UFE's can't get an easy kill on me now lol. That's why the rockets will stay! I literally meant dumb dumb as in stupid players as well, although they catch me at bad times .

Have these rockets on hotkey to counter someone that uses one on you, drop a slow down on them if they get close instead or at the same time. Do a barrel roll and own them then.

I want the gates to come back so I can restock .

You have literally no idea how difficult it actually is to shoot a IC3 at the exact same time as your enemy shoots one at you.

It does not work 9/10 times. You like the rocket because it lets you get away from UFE who should kill you. You have to weaker ship and so you should be the one dying.
I hate the rockets because UFE run away from me. I play GE1, there is enough players on there where I can select only to hunt UFE and still have lots of people to fight. However it doesn't matter at all, I could shoot only UFE or I could shoot only barely FE golis, everyone single person who has a IC3 rocket can get away.

The IC3 rocket was the worst addition to the game in 2014, a single rocket changed solo PvP to "shoot your enemy until you know you are going to die then just run away". If I want to kill people I need to hunt with another person, not for their damage but just so they can shoot a rocket at someone if the enemy shoots one at me.

 

Hey bro I have had some OP ass people hit me with them soon as i catch them with it and if an UFE wants to run away even without this rockets by god he will run.

 

As people have mentioned there definitely needs to be more counters in the game in order to fight against all of the annoyances in the game. I'm all for fighting 6v1s but when I get hit by 6 ice rockets (1 by 1) it's reasonably annoying. Essentially you've managed to kill me by disabling me completely.

 

people shouldnt be able to evenr get away in 6 v 1 whole point of pack advantage -_-. Thats why so dam annoying fighter Ubers now. They fighting 6 noobs almost die emp cloak drop slowdown pet rep charg up kill 3 more.

 

Okapi, you make your points clearly, I like that. You are right about it being a little harder to finish someone off now.....But the mind is a beautiful thing, just come up with a strategy.

I say use the rocket in a fight as a pre-emptive move, or half way thru the battle. Either way, just use it before your target does.....then sit on the frozen player and drop a slow mine....Between the time for those two things, you can trap players.....Use these as a weapon, not as a reactionary tool, the kills are still there.

 

That's entirely assuming that they don't have insta shields or a shield not big enough to just tank through that damage while slowed or frozen. When I play DO my time is spend about 80% in PvP, without trying to sound massively big headed, I'm still fairly good at it and was 1st for ship kills on my old server for a good few months - I know a lot of little tricks people deploy in PvP to gain an advantage.

To put it this way. I am entirely confident that I could escape any 1v1 I was in if I had IC3 on my hotbar and that should not be the case.

 

The R-IC3 is a cheap DCR...what I hate most is the come back into the map feature.
