  1. I suppose a good question would be why are some of them so long. I get the longest ones from the Germany Server, 15 min to 3 hours, then Great Britain, running 3 min to an hour. I am also on all 4 US servers but have not seen anything topping 15 min there. With a good deal of players stopping in probably once just to get the daily login out of the way, why give such long start ads? I let them play as I do find a number of them giving good information. And if I spoke German, I may even get more from one of the 2 hour ones on the German Server, man I miss that country. But really so long? The bad thing is the DO marketing group "may not" be getting into this discussion. I do not doubt that they are trying to create revenue, but they should look at it from the " is this what they want to view" stand point. As Raijin pointed out, there is a Skip Ad button. I do not doubt that the majority of players click it with intensity. What needs to be asked of marketing is what about these ads would be found interesting to the players. During the month of December where we have more special events then the rest of the year, a player, neither noob, nor ufe, is really in the mood to watch the 3 hour marathon ad for a new whatever when they are already under the gun to finish that quest they started and had to finish within a 24 hour period. I am just glad I don't sit down to the game blindly. I know there are the start videos and click them on like I was turning on a computer from the 90's. Start it up, see the time for it, fix a snack, eat it, maybe go take a shower, play with my son, come back, OH GAME IS READY. LOL At anyrate, let marketing know we like the added uri, but keep the time down. Some kids are only allowed on the computer for 30 min sometimes, and some of us older folks only have that long before we have to go to work or take the kids to an event. Skip button, they have another name for that. Its called the power button. Its what more people will use or the change game idea that pops up in the players head. A lot will just think, forget it, and just go to bed early. Be interested in those ads or the skip button, players take weeks or months to figure out how to play. That video is just met with blankity blank blank. They started out of no where and with no heads up, like most things. I log on daily so mods don't try to say different, I would know. Also, telling of the skip button does not answer anything either. He is wondering why they are that long in the first place. To paraphrase an answer from a similar thread, the ads come from a 3rd party source. However then the lie came saying DO was not responsible for them, when it is DO's company, so there should be someone in the company that has the time length for each ad that plays, not to mention knows about the content. Why am I not just in the game playing right now, oh yeah, got on a roll. The game ads should be more like TV ads, in length. Normal TV ads, not info-mercials. Normal ads are informative, catchy, and not as frustrating. Sure people use them as potty break time, but really? So I ask, do we have a real answer we can give about it, or are we going to just stay with the legal department approved responses? o_O

This paragraph hurt my eyes! :p

To that last bit, the longest ads I've ever seen are those (quite stupid) new product selling ads, like those vacuum cleaner, hybrid leaf blower/vacuum, blender ads that run every now and then ( Shark steam mops, The Work Trivac, Nutribullet, Provita, Dyson Ball, whatnot). They are 30 mins at max.

To OP, did my "advice" fix your problem? :p

  4. My favorites are the ones for extra energies that don't work....like the DO satisfaction survey I just took... no gg spin for me...lol. No I'm not contacting support just to get the cookie cutter answer of the day. Waste of time.

  5. Enjoy the game.

Closing as lack of response from OP.
