Based on the repeated concern of the auctions being overrun by insane bids for elite items that are being kept unobtainable to most.
I say make the auction have a refund cap.
Any bid of 40 million credits or less may be refunded if overbid happens, but bids of over 40 million should be lost when they are outbidded.

"say u bid 100 billion credits but lose, u only get up to 40 million credits back."

The spirit of the auction is for noob players to get the items that are out of reach for them, since I have yet to meet a noob with billions of credits at their disposal i think this idea should have been addressed long ago.

  2. Big no to this, eventually, things do settle down once the big players get their stuff :)
And 40 million is no biggie, the average noob can make that in an hour.

Probably one of the worst ideas i've heard in a long time think on what this would do to those trying to bid in weekly bids. lose a bill + credits. Someone fell and bumped their head people are frustrated as it is why put this on their list. I got my FE from the old auctions it was no fun alot of credits waisted bid 50 mill on an lf3 and lose it in them days that took a while.

Build skylab like everyone else and sell sell sell once in reach bid, if lose keep selling till you get high bid. Rinse and repeat

  4. I think my reasoning for disliking this has already been brought up so just a no from me will suffice :).

    Oh no u don't!!!
This idea is based on reasons all of you have openly and repeatedly raised in forum.
This addresses the problem at the root.
Am i to believe that none of you will employ this reason to down anymore ideas with this excuse?
You'll have to excuse my skepticism for all that say yes and prepare for me to drive the point.

I'm gonna back this thread as passionately as u have been using this idea as a weaponized forum excuse. TYVM!!!

I think it's a bad idea all that means is at -:15 I bid 39,999 on item and lock it. so how does that help the noobs, they have to bid over and now your way they loose there credits. as of now they get credits back so they can save more and bid

Most noobs can't come up with that much.
Anyone that can come up with 40 mill credits in less than 5 days time shouldn't be considered a noob. The players sitting on that amount of credits to overbid are the ones that can spare it the most when they lose it.

This will make it so that the credit billionaires can eliminate themselves more often than not and to open the doors for the ones that need the items just as bad that are without billions of credits to swim in. This should be plain for EVERYONE to see.

  8. If the game was still full-ish I would say yes but iris lf-3 and bo2 bids can easily hit 40 mil or more and would stave off noobs if they lost their hard earned ec (or not if they got from clan) and for that reason I say no, otherwise I would have said yes :) maybe make the cap higher, 100 mil perhaps cuz that's where noob stuff stops and the elite stuff begins?

This thread addresses the fact that 40 mill is too easily made by too many non-noobs. Considering the prices payed for normal and not even elite items peaking 50 to 200 million credits or more by the same group of players over and over again i'm certain that it would come to a screeching halt when they stop getting their creds back.

I say any bid higher than 100 mil that was overbid gets a 10% credit penalty. Maybe 5%

  11. Cept at that range it's doubtfull they'll be outbid anyways

Yes.....The high credit ppl would b eliminating themselves with their bids.

  13. Believe me, they won't.

Oh they will and u know it, besides if 40 mill is no biggie why fight it?
This will open the door for more ppl to get items when the credit rich become too intimidated by the loss of their bids to dominate the auction the way they do now.
Or it will thin them out battling among one another to b the first to get things like possibly LF-4's.....lol.

I can see a 10% penalty across on all bids lost. i can agree with that but to attack only the veteran players is ridicules:mad:.

    example-

100,000 bid gets outbid loses 10,000 penalty
1,000,000,000 bid gets outbid loses 100,000,000 penalty

No, and i'll tell u why.
The ability to come up with 1 billion credits so frequently that any person or group can dominate an auction for months "Yes Months!!!" on end has to be stopped in order for others to have a chance to also gain access to coveted items by the many that can't raise 1 billion credits as easily.

There is no other way to stop it......period.

  17. Dude, don't get so angry. You should realize that the auction used to work much like your idea would work, but all losing bids are lost , not a select amount or an arbitrary number above that. Yeah, it was almost what you say you want today, but game developers changed it to what we have today. Players asked for that change. I think you'll have a better chance of winning a Powerball jackpot than you will to get players and developers to agree with going back to what it was, or to what you're wanting.

So, being as I like the way the auction works now, no on this idea. Learn to deal with it, everybody else has.

Ok I see your sos on this, you can only see it one way , so instead of making an adjustment to your bad idea! You just shoot down anything that makes the game fair to all. I still believe DO will not just attack just the long time players without a reasonable idea. I'm sorry you've done nothing to improve or let any improvements in. so still -1

Oh by the way I gathered 65mil. credits in 3 hrs and i'm only FE not UFE YET!!!
