Pet Honor Loss Needs Re-thinking

That was a horrible update, im annoyed now, this is just a total issue. I have lost 800k honor because of miss locking pets, and the honor loss stays up because of my own company attacking me then i lose honor for self defense, this games broken and that update is making things worse.

 

I am sorry that you are not happy with the update and the honor loss for killing same company pets. Please know that you cannot kill a pet of a player that is in your outfit. Also self defense would mean that you are fighting a player not a PET.

I know that these things can cause a bit of frustration, however a skilled pilot like yourself should be able to adapt to the new changes and over come any adversary that presents themselves to you.

Well i have been losing honor for others shooting me then i pop them for it. One of my clan members kept shooting me the other night, i finally popped him while he sat there shooting me. i lost 8k. The other day i killed an EIC and a VRU who was with the EIC, shot me, so i popped him, lost 200k, that same night, i accidentally double tapped while boxing (i do it, sort of a twitch) and there was a cloaked pet on it, lost 400k to 1 shotting a pet on accident. Yesterday, a player kept making the deadly battle ray i was on enrage, so i popped him knowing i would lose 200k, but i was annoyed, and he had enough warnings. An hour or so later, i was on a battle ray and too many interceptors spawned, so i went to lock one with the double click, and the guy who was shooting the BR next to me brought his pet out and it went into my lock causing me to lose 400k again. I don't go around just shooting pets or players. I don't even know how i got to the 200ks for kills cause the last time i lost honor it was like 18k then the next day i lost 100k for defending a clan member. The whole system is broken. I pretty close to leaving DO again because i keep losing all my honor. I have 1.9mil honor left. I should be well over 70mil if i never lost any, i have switched companies 16 times, and was victim to a honor loss bug DO didn't admit to until 3 months after i lost all my honor from 2 people glitching against me. I'm tired of it.

 

I have to agree, the whole minus honor for killing friendly pets is stupid, most people have no HP on their pet for kami reasons so they are a 1 shot pop anyway, so in a busy situation i.e. killing nme cbs or defending friendly cbs, it is too easy to lock friendly pets.

Unlike misslocking a friendly ship, you have no chance to cancel fire on friendly pet until it is too late.

 

Exactly, the whole idea needs to be re thought. I liked it for the reasons of people get out of hand with it, like seriously i miss locked my own pet trying to lock a war on the box my pet was getting, surprised i didn't lose 850k honor.

The honor deduction system is in place so that players cannot go around destroying their own company without any repercussions. I certainly don't think it would be fair if we were able to destroy a friendly PET with no repercussions (what if the owner doesn't has premium and has to pay to repair?)

However i totally accept your point on how the system may be unfair and how it can have a detrimental affect if you were to destroy a friendly player (i.e. the accumulative affect). Therefore i will report this as feedback since this isn't a bug or game issue by technicality.

All i'm saying is, there are bugs in the company kill part. If a player shoots me, and i am beating them, they slow mine run off and rep up then come back, but my lasers hit first. I lose honor... A player emps and cloaks then shoots me again and i shoot, i lose honor. Most of the time i just lose honor for self defense. That part is a bug. As for pet, i get the people with no premium thing, this doesn't stop people from using mines to kill pets. And 90% of players do not repair pets, so accidental kills will happen too often.

 

take off the dbl click then if its that much troubles

 

Double click makes it easier to get cloakers. And not like Double click will always be the problem, just clicking and shooting out of habit when you think you got an npc locked but its some dopes pet under it getting locked, you get screwed either way.

System is broken, i am now down to 1.3mil honor. 2 out of 3 times he attacked me, i lost honor.

Down to 1.3mil almost miss locked some dudes pet too trying to click a vengie 20 mins ago. Scared half to death to even play the game because im gonna be hitting outlaw at this rate.

 

sounds like another update that hinders you from defending your own maps very easy to pop a same company pet while trying to attack an enemy that's being shot at by some other players from your company.

 

Simple fix, make it so same company players can't shoot each others pets. Voila...

 

I seriously don't see why this isn't a thing.. We should only be able to shoot wars, - honor is too much of a hassle when the game is so broken.

 

Aye I completely agree. However this would make cubing more interesting. Most probably wouldn't do it anymore cuz anyone could shoot and not be reprimanded lol

 

It could just be temporary XD i get people to shoot others off my cubes sometimes lol. But DO is broken in so many ways, this is just making things worse. I had such an honor loss build up.. Last night i miss locked the same cloaked goliath under a group of enemies twice apparently, i killed him once, then got killed by the group i was against, as i was dead, and hit repair on port, i got his kill again... I'm now down to 157k honor.

 

Don't play for a certain amount of time until the Company killing honor - resets to 100 or you will be outlaw in no time
and if you are boxing just cloak and dont hit anyone (take your hands off the hotkeys to be safe lol)

 

if it is just that player, you might think about sending war if in a clan. On that note, talk to that clan's leadership about the player. It looks like the player would shoot you and quit before you start shooting. its a ploy bored players have. They get under your skin knowing that they are not loosing honor. Some players don't know how to go do their own thing.
