Why do you play?

So, as seen in the speakers corner and in the update and idea pool, everyone complains and complains about how bad the game is, and how it needs alot of things to make it better and blah blah blah. (Myself included). But what keeps you coming back? There is something that this game is offering you if you are still coming back to play. SO what is your reason to still play? Just curious

 

You make a good point...Honestly this however terrible-- is the only game that has entertained me for hours on and yes, I have searched and searched for other games but honestly as much as I hate bigpoint at this moment I trust them, they haven't send a virus and its a browser game which on most ive played ive gotten a virus from. also at this moment I got time to just hang out and do nothing so this takes up time so if someone recommended me to a good game hey im all in to try it but im not skrewing up another PC to play a game ill go back to console

 

to hunt .that's all .the only reason why I still play is to hunt ,and since even that's boring now cuz everybody runs and there are not many people , I'm about done as well, ( ps , no I don't shoot noobs , if that's what u were thinking , its pointless to shoot them . no fun )

 

i comeback to play because i like to see how everyone is getting on in my server gb2 its a small server but i think it the most active for chat which i like iv gave up on my hercs but still chasing my havovs its hard being a part timer lol

 

Oh I forgot to add before I made this current acc and my old one got banned the only reason i played was the players ( I played on east coast 2) I was willing to quit but these guys kept me going D.O. is truly a amazing community of great players, I probably spent 200+ hour in 3 months just chillin with one guy - If only D.O. had something to make it worth playing anymore

 

I play because I have made friends on the game, and seem to keep making new friends weekly. The cons- lag, chat not working, can't log on at times, but the pros, the friends made, accomplishing things, getting stronger, lots of things to do, keep making more friends so doing even more things. And I can do it all from home without having to serve drinks. LOL, I have played so much, one server I don't even chat on but seem to get grouped in with players and doing things with them. I have chat off on that server because I don't speak the language and for some odd reason, I still have fun. Simply put, I know I will be attacked, so it has actually gotten to be a game, no pun, to see how much I can do even though I am being stalked. Its just one of those things, you know...

 

I enjoy the game mostly, from it's beginning. I have some good friends in game, and we play on regular daily basis almost every single day. We either box or hunt NPC (sometimes players too ) together. When you have friends around this game becomes more enjoyable. I think that the key why most players give up easily is because they can't make friends around. If you find a good clan/good friends this game will be come a hundred times better than you knew it. The problem here is that it seems to too many players that the game is "One man army"; no it's not.

Naah.. the game is pretty boring, but I am still playing because I am thinking at the "Glory Years" of this game and I still like it.. with bugs, without them, Is the game that we all love I think. And my only problems in the game are botters.. I hate that BP doesn't do anything, because we spend time, we spend money.. they spend money too(less) but they have all the time to do things that they like(real life).. soo.

 

I do have an answer and im not going to take this thread off on a tangent but i'd rather not give an answer. The way BP is operating at the moment is disgusting, rank/chat and pet are all not working as of today and not 1 person has an answer for any of us, so i cannot justify a positive comment right now.

 

If you guys want a good positive answer then you found one! The reason why we keep playing DO is because we get on to see our lovely fellows and chat (broken) with our teammates. We hunt others (too much lag DO cant fix) and its a pretty Easy/competitive game (costs 1000$+ to be competitive and JP doesn't function alot)

Honestly BP charges and provides non-maintainable servers.
Other players you are playing with provides your service.

lol, I still come back because there is the occasional challenge. There are several players in usa east 2 that always provide a good battle. I also come back because of the players. Its an escape from the howling reality of work lol. But mostly I enjoy watching the drama unfold in chat (which is now broken)

 

Because this game is quite addictive. It's propably the most challenging and difficult game I've played; I'm playing from 2009 with quite a few breaks on the way. But I always return, simply because I've not completed my job here. There's an x-factor that attracts me back.

Darkorbit is a GOOD game. But it's governed by brainless, selfish, illogical & greedy people.
If I parallel it with a book or a series; I'd say the premise is great but the execution is t e r r i b l e.

 

i still play ..played so long its like smoking hard to quit without help .... so whens the next DA meeting (Darkorbit-Abuse) lol

 

LMAO yes, it is hard to just give it up cold turkey. We take breaks here and there but eventually return.

 

I started 1000 hours ago. I was popped so many times that I asked in chat I asked what satisfaction someone could have killing a noob. The answer the CM gave me they are on a mission. And I said that was OK then.

And started to build up my ship bought a leo great then bought a vengi next day sold the vengi and bought a leo.
Kept building my ship until a vengi would hit as hard as my leo rebought a vengi ( still my favorite ship also own a goli but changing everything over is a pain ) now building that up.

That what I like the slow gains after so much hard work. It's very rewarding!
Also when I say hey all on chat someone always says hey back been invited to one clan, but it was in a different CO.

The game is also very relaxing after a hard day; npcs, watching your back for hunters finding hunters i can kill in space oh what fun i love space ships and killing aliens.
