Drone Formation Feedback Thread

The Dome and the X formations got actually improved.

When we first talked about the formations it became clear that the Ring Formation was considered overpowered in several situations.
Learning this, we took your feedback to heart and decided to tweak the formation. We have re balanced it to have few less shield boost and give it more laser damage while keeping the value.

We believe that this, comparatively small change, will make players less dependent on a certain ship/drone/skill build and swing the pendulum back into the direction of player skill.

So we don’t think that a general reimbursement is called for because the formations have not been revised dramatically. We only took the edge off.

I personally think, that it's stupid to try fix ring with decreasing speed, because of two reason.
1. it makes it easier target, since you can't run anymore.
2. it wont make it any harder to destroy cbs with group using ring if speed is reduced.

Only positive side is that you cant be caught up so easily, if your opponent wears ring, but that wont matter if you just want to run, since you cant use ring for running. Current update just makes ring almost useless, and makes wheel more popular, since it's now only formation among new ones, witch gives chance to run.

I would suggest to reduce ring's damage input more rather than touch its speed. that way it wouldn't be so easy to destroy cbs with group using it.

Given what it does I think it's perfectly needed. After all, this is a PvP game not a running game and if you need to catch up to your opponent switch out of ring and into a different one or wheel

 

People who have bought ring formation clearly bought it because of the 180% shield and full speed just for the reason to tank and escape, but after the recent update shield now is 120% with 5% reduced speed which totally destroys the reason for which we bought the ring formation...ok you reduced the shields but the speed is totally nuts, the formation is useless now since we can't escape UFE's dmging 150k+...neither you gave the option to return the item and get our uri back or compensate us by giving us 50% uri back since this wasn't our fault but a mistake by your darkorbit side. We earn we pay we play but this kind of attitude levitates our interest in the game...

 

Exactly! There are TO MANY many players in this game that DO NOT put in the work to get stronger and just complain about everything.
It took me YEARS....YEARS!! to get where i am in this game, UFE and top 15, and it's extremely annoying to see a player that has played only a few months complaining about the stronger people. yes.. It takes years but all you have to do is put in the work. I started the game before you got credits back in auction, before booty boxes, before there were gates that gave you log disks and lf4s and drone designs, before there were beginner quests that gave you lf3's and Bo2's and even drones. Back then we started with a liberator and an mp1, now you start with bo2s, speed gens, and lf3's and you LOST all your credits in auction if you didnt win an item. They have made it a lot easier for newbies in this game and yet they all still complain because they dont want to put in the work to get stronger they just want to start out the game ufe... You dont walk into a company and become a manager in a day. you have to work your way up, and thats exactly what these players AREN'T doing. If you think Darkorbit takes to long to get UFE (which is only a year or 2 if you put in the work.) I play another game where it takes over 30 YEARS!!... YES 30 YEARS to train all of your skills for the game... and your complaining about building your ship up for 1 year. If all of you spent as much time building your ships as you have complaining to support and on forums about how "that guy" has more equipment then you, you would be UFE. SO dont you even dare go post another thread about how some guy just killed you and its unfair or about some guy that always outbids you in auction because he has more creds then you.... GO DO SOME MISSIONS AND GET UFE ALREADY!

 

It isn´t good access. I don´t mean amiss, but...
What will do players who bought ring formation before that and they don´t want it now. Will it stay thus? I know game is develops, but this isn´t fair.
In my opinion, players shall get uridium back and lost this formation. And then they can decide, if they buy ring formation again.

 

Before this formations , a lot of players bought heart , diamond or barrage . Now ring is better than heart in a lot of situations , doom doesn't have diamond limit of shield and it's better for those who have over 1 million shield ( ufe one's ) in several situations . However , the worst case is barrage formation which has an equal at 300k credits . At the same with bat one because we have now drill which is a lot better . The same with pincer and we remain with moth , crab and chevron from the old ones ..
What i am trying to say is that now if someone could start buying again with the uri he has used already , he won't buy some of the old formations again .
To restart all player formations and restore the uri would be too much , but at least for ring .

 

thanks for the reply i was just asking, as many things get are subject to change kami for the pet the cooldown stop abuse of the pet but from that change i did not want my uri back as it plays a big part in the game and i have mad 5000 fold of uri for what i payed for the gear but it would be nice when you bring something you could add to that item (subject to change)

 

Are you srsly kidding me. So I buy a ring formation because of the shields and now you are going to decrase it after you put it in game? After so many ppl bought it? SRSLY?! Yeah, great, so one player can jump out of cloack hit you with 300k DMG and you lower our chances to defend ourselves? GOOD WORK BP, you did it again. You again showed us how backstabbing are. This is not the first time, bp put something in the game and after a while, almost everybody bought it, they totally change it!

If you change some formations then change every new formations!

Sell me something and then nerf it a month later. Did you not test your products before release?

Like Rossi said above, this is not the first time you have pulled this tactic. You wonder why people are leaving this game - this is a prime example.

 

Ring is useless now , give us back our 150k ur for that formation !

 

good, i hated fighting aegis with ring anyways. The rocket reload time should be 50% increase tho, or 80% damage decrease but still 180% shield and full speed.

 

Ring is now stronger IMO, I'd take 120% shield and -25% dmg any day over 180% shield - 40% dmg.

 

This reminds me of the upgrades when they first came out, we all spend a fortune upgrading lf3's, and b02's only to have every single weapon, and shield decreased and throttled back. I have to agree with the multitude on this one. These products are surely tested before release. You wouldn't sell an advertised v10 sports car, then recall it and slap a 4 cylinder in it and think the customer would be happy about it...would you? That is a perfect comparison to the "take backs" you keep doing chronically with products in the game! At least offer a kick back for it. Icy's for a week straight or something for petes sakes. I was really impressed with the drone formations prior to the change.

P.S. "Ring Formation": How is reducing the speed on a formation that had no speed reduction..not a dramatic change...lol...that formation was perfect for tactical retreat and you reduce its shield power, and deduct speed! Come on now, that is pretty dramatic!

The one and only solution to this is remove ring formation from the players who have bought it and return their URI and pop up a message saying that ring formation has been removed and URI has been returned...then those who still like it can buy it else 95% of darkorbit players will be happy with their URI returned.

 

Agreed.. I can deal with the shield and damage modifications, but the speed reduction makes it a useless formation. Going from 540 to 513 is ridiculous.. even with 1.5 Mill shields enemies can just run you down (especially in BMaps where its needed most).

 

I don't mind the majority of the changes that were made, however i am like many of the people above who are annoyed at the reduced speed the ring now has, and in general i am getting annoyed at all these new changes in speed. The pusat, surgeon (still not available to all players), wheel and now ring are all annoying enough as it is, but when you combine it was slow down mines, slow down rockets and icy rockets, it just becomes one big pile of frustration trying to fight somebody or trying to escape from somebody.

I can understand the formation being nerfed due to claims it was overpowered, but nobody asked for a speed reduction to be included in the change. Speed was never affected beforehand (when i and many purchased it), hence i am extremely frustrated that my speed is now affected.

540 to 513 speed is a dramatic change in speed, i don't care whatever anybody else says regarding that.

Annoyed and frustrated are probably an understatements to be honest.

 

If you don't give us back normal speed in ring formation, I want my uridium back and I will rather invest it in something else. Now It's just a useless formation.
I bought it because of it's shields. Now it's just some extra shield for nonfunctional ship. What's the point of having a hields, when you can't run away from anyone?

 

I would prefer a refund for ring... dont want it, its now useless!
