[UI] Space Ball

  1. So an issue we have on our sever is Eic and Vru work together to dominate spaceball, its a good strategy one company shoots the ball while the other sits at port and protects against enemies basically just MMO and collects the boxes and then they switch off. But it is something that should not be going on in a PVP game.

    My solution, make it were the only company that can collect the boxes is the company that scores the goal.

    Now there are some down sides to that, for players who like to fly in cloaked and steal the boxes from the sides that aren't shooting the ball.

    But the up side is if the two companies that have decided to work together cant share the boxes, so they will have to decide who is gonna benefit more from space ball.

    I do believe that would make space ball an even playing field again. If everyone had to fight for the ball to benefit from it

    I actually like this idea, it seems it'll make it all a little more fair, but the problem is, if they do that, there is not going to be a spaceball, there will just be a lot of players flying around and killing everyone and no one would even have time to score a goal.

Stealing resources from enemy is a tactic of war, and certain companies, or clans in spaceball wouldn`t be playing the way they are if everybody was involved in the event instead of avoiding an pvp as much as possible....its a pvp game which needs each company committed to doing these events.

  4. I agree the companies are supposed to be at war not mouth feeding each other. But I will miss building kappas from my enemies laziness :(
     
  5. The reason this update will never happen is because if first 3 months of the year mmo has more active hunters so is more likely to control SB,then for 4 months eic has more active hunters and controls the ball.Then for a few months vru may have more active hunters.

    So 'GunStar_The_Legend', as you explained mmo would be least likely to ever see cargo as the active hunters are in eic and vru, so with your idea they would just take turns scoring goals and continue to orchestrate who gets cargo and mmo would be stuck getting nothing when the option to steal cargo is removed.

  6. I believe it called an 'alliance.' Depending on your server there may be a few multi-company clans and they get together.

    If you want fairness, give the little ones boosters while they shoot SB. Because they allways get popped, i know what i'm talking bout. I see like 20 - 30 People camping at the Port and nobody bats an eyelash, but if a little one just goes afk for a single minute he'll be destroyed immediately. That's not really fair, is it?

    EIC and VRU are definately not working together on Spaceball, in fact, EIC and MMO just picks out the noobs and popps them to get kills and don't tell me that's not true, it would be a lie! I've done SB a few times and i've allways been popped just because i'm low, even tho i was shooting the ball. Same on Hitac, noobs are allways popped.

    It would be better, if you give 3 Spaceballs and each one goes a different direction, like EIC one goes to EIC Portal etc, so every faction has it's distance from each other and while 1 faction is at the lead the get more from the cargo Boxes, while other get less. That way it would be an actual "race" for who can get the ball to his portal the fastest way and People can and will still battle on the starting point of the ball, so you won't miss any PVP.
     
  8. 3 spaceballs would defeat the purpose of the 1 ball, thats to fight over the ball....And not every server has the same company or companies controlling the server.And if you have trouble getting popped, get cloak and save uri for emp so you can steal cargo from enemy.The skill part is learning to escape death when your smaller than the group your up against, weather your barely FE or UFE fighting in a map with 30 ships after you.

    Its up to you to prepare your ship for spaceball and other events you participate in.

  9. Not necessarily but I do agree. 3 balls would be part orbit while the goal is the uridium boost. Make it a race. But I don't like that. Anyways CLOAK doesn't help, people with locking skills worth anything or emp mines or just amps that very often go off you die anyways. Just get in a big clan, they touch you and you have backup. Anyways I think it should be determined by who shoots ball. Make it so if you see cargo you have to hit the ball for at least 50k damage. Easy for any class.
     
  10. Like any npcs you hit you are rewarded for the total amount of damage you inflict. This should be introduced to SB. The more you hit the ball the more rewards you get and you get them directly. (Maybe even if the ball is not scored in your goal). I am not saying that people would start getting silly amounts of uri or spins but rewards that are within reason. Lets forget about cargo. That way more people would shoot the ball, less people would port hog and more importantly everyone gets something. Rather than shooting the ball for hours and missing out every time. People who are cloaked and want to steal boxes they would lose out but its a PVP game so get a group together and get shooting lol.

  12. Not if the noobs are in the same company of the ufes that are shooting the ball. The noobs will get rewards as well. Then if other companies ufe and noobs alike want the rewards they would need to get together a fighting force and win the ball. Thus making SB more interesting.

  14. this idea would simply nerf spaceball and reduce rewards to every player doing it.
     
  15. I like it... take it a step further and make it so only those individuals shooting the ball can get cargo. On US2 West, 8 people shoot the ball while there are 40 sitting on port collecting cargo (along with other companies stealing them). Would make the game a lot more fair & epic battles for control would return.

  16. Thats interesting you say that, I have played this game for a long time and I have never gained galaxy gate spins from an npc in an "Invasion Gate" or euros or ammo for that matter. I must be playing a different game to you. :)

    If a player shoots the ball from the start to the goal they get what they would get now. but instead of having to pick up cargo they get rewards directly. So its the "same" rewards to "more" players. I think more people would play it and from all three companies, they would all want a piece of that pie. If a player uses x1 they get the same rewards as they do now. If they use other ammo the ball will just move quicker allowing for more goals to be scored = more rewards
