  1. hello,mi ig is ASURAPRIEST, i play on usa east 1, i have been playing dark orbit since ....04-05-2008, and i am not a wallet warrior like almost everyone, its ok but, i stopped playing for the constant kills while trying to get better at space, my score was to kill kristallons without getting exploded thing that i can do now, but when i try something bigger like a boss or an ubber, i got killed at space,im sure thats the reason low lvl players stop playing the game, and ofc dont spend money so my idea is:

a forth company, neutral company or a game mode that is safe, i mean, you cant atack any ANY other players, but they cant atack you neither, you can activate or deactivate this mode, maybe with uridium if you want (money everywhere), but maybe on quests or just a simple button, or maybe if you get killed 4 or 3 times in a row, you get some kind of" neutrality" that goes for certain time or until you shot someone or enter certain maps, or maybe some free from pvp daily hours, or maybe a guardian on every portal that you need to kill in order to enter the map, or maybe a simple but problematic because the number of players: a pvp map, i would say 2 o 3 4-5-like maps, there you go, a lot of ideas being my favorite one the neutral company or the neutral mode easy button.

you might think: wow i would have no low nubs to kill, but you will kill your same-size enemies, and people can get bored pve only and switch whenever they feel prepared to pvp
"but guy, this game is pvp ..."
well, you always have the ultimate pvp arena button onscreen if you want to test and prove you are the best and you have a big wallet

"dude, the guys on pvp mode would not know the exitement on pvp DO,they will never come to pvp mode..."

never know the pvp? lets think, if i am a new user, and somehow i manage to get a goli or big boy and i am happily killing a hard devolarium, and suddenly i see a big ship shoting cool rsb lasers with a pet and bombs and 3 guys atacking him and the sounds and bang bang omg! i will said what whas that? oh i see , pvp, i will try...oh no i got killed in half a second, well, i will continue killing aliens till i think im prepared again, i can also spend when i like this game more, real money, because i dont get killed 5 times in less than 10 minutes, trying to kill a devolarium for my quest, by the always dominant eic , and i didnt stop playing the game because that

thats all, thank you, the company can be neutral or poor or something like that XD

All we need is a PVP Flag system and that is all we need. World of Warcraft PVP flag system is 2nd to none. Take note BP and stop all the "bait n switch" scheme you run constantly.

Kill DO? or just some egos?

  6. Do, the game was based on a PVP system and technically a player could buy the stuff he needs before he gets a large level.

Depending on how its done a flag system would make hunting point and instead of taking a month for a 750 vengi missions it might end up being years.

  7. so....just change the 750 vengies quest to 150, or test your luck at pvp maps or the ultimate pvp arena, also a lot of people will remain pvp you know that

  8. I say instead of neutral zone make it so that no one can pop a player tht is 5 levels below thers so a lvl 20 player cannot pop a lvl 14 and below unless they shoot on them like in x-1 map this will make the game harder yes but more balance so you dont have the UFE gunning down the little guys so often

this would be terrible. best part of dark orbit is that you are never safe, and there's nothing you can do about it. if you're a little fish, you have to learn this complexity. take this away and you have the worst grinding game ever made (ok maybe not the worst, but yeah).

btw i'm still a little fish, play for free, not ego.

  11. I believe it's called darkorbit, not botorbit. No. Find good friends a good clan and PvP will become a minimal if not negated threat.

another thought to clarify. if this were in effect, no new players would choose pvp in their right mind. they would bypass the difficulty given the option and not deal with it. but what's worse, they would never know why they're not having much fun, endlessly circling aliens and never experiencing any adrenaline. they would just get bored and play something else.

this game is based on the challenge of other players, and playing tag isn't fun if nobody chases each other.

basically nothing bad happens to you when you die. the drone damage is negligible, only there to encourage people to not try to die over and over. despite this, dark orbit feels as dangerous as any perma death game. at any time you might have to battle organic intelligence. there's something scary and unpredictable about that. like it's not just a game. find your solutions and have fun!

  13. Like wise it is not My Ego, the game is depicted by Big Point itself as a PvP game not a PvE game if you want to PvE all day there are better games for farm simulation. As someone esle suggested stick with friends and find a good clan and stack in numbers and if anything people who looking to pvp wont get far. PvP became the basis of Dark orbit when Big Point acquired it. As such The game is not choose if you want to PvP but to force you to PvP win or loose.

i get what you're saying, but think it through. the whole point of dark orbit is to work your way up in the middle of a war zone. it doesn't rely on complex AI to make the game fun, it relies on the players to provide that. take it away and only then would you realize how boring invulnerability would be. you'd fly around maps, without any fear or challenge. it'd remove the soul of the game, and be cheating.

being defeated by another human being in general might be too humiliating for the psychology of some people, and this might just be the wrong game for them to play. you're asking for a free ride to the top, but then why even have a game to get there? or you want a pve dark orbit, but the AI to make that fun doesn't exist, and for that matter, other people are better than any algorithm.

something that wouldn't ruin the game might be: 10 hour ambassador status, maybe given out once or twice by some low level quests; 10 hours of non pvp, maybe combined with a quest to check out the uppers, and maybe another with a quest to check out the pirate maps.

  17. This already exists and it's called noob protection, or a cloak/spearhead.

i'm thinking back to a few times i could have progressed but didn't. it took me a long time to discover the upper maps back when i knew nothing, because the first time i went into a battle map there was 15 goliaths sitting on port, instantly killing anything that came through. i assumed it was always like that. was a long time before i knew what i was missing up there.

it'd be nice to give someone new an opportunity to check it out and try killing a few things without having to worry, just as an introduction. it probably also doesn't matter a whole lot.
