[TI] Demons don't seem to work

Managed to get up to 10 Demons after today's Tunnel of Terror and after testing the Demon designs, I don't think they work, at least the damage of them doesn't.

I was messing around in a Goliath and swapping between Havoc and Demon and really couldn't tell the difference, in fact the highest damage I did with a rocket happened to be when I had the Havoc config on.

I can't tell if the cooldown reduction is being applied or not but it does seem like the bonus damage is missing. I also repeated the test with Hercules just encase Havoc were effecting rockets by accident, but the rocket damage was the same for all 3 designs.

How did u get 10 demon drones...

 

I think there are two different demon drone designs which could explain the issue:
The one you see in the shop that actually affects your rocket damage is named Silver Demon, whilst the one we get from the gate is named Demon Drone design epic (they also look different to me)
I'm not quite sure about this so if I'm wrong please don't be too rude xD

 

The epic ones are meant to get the bonus too, unless the descriptions are a mistake.

I was lucky, I got 5 Demons from yesterdays Tunnel of Terror and 6 from today's.

I'll take a look into this further. I have already tested the reload times (changed ship settings to be non-premium, no turbo cpu, no bio etc.) and everything appeared to be working fine in terms of reload times;

With Demons: ~3.9 seconds approx.
Without Demons: ~4.1 seconds approx.

Damage testing, just like with laser damage, is always a bit trickier to test due to the ranges of damages and more varying factors. However i shall edit my post once i have carried out those.

Edit: My tests do have the same outcome as your video, with no clear rocket damage bonus being received when the demon drones are equipped. I have reported this further to be looked into.

Thank you bringing this issue to our attention,

As mentioned above, Ddraig will be investigating this matter further.

As for how Okapi got the amount of Demon drone designs, he has completed the gate multiple times.

Only other question would be if the thread is closed, can there be a post to say when the damage is fixed on the demons? Just so we know when it's worth putting them on to see how good they are.

 

I was also testin em earlier yesterday and didnt see the difference.

 

some people said that they work in GE4, are they working or not?

 

i have 4 demons and only 4 drones. no change. is the bonus still not working, or is 4 drones not enough?

 

Its still messed up, i guess there will be official announcement when they will be fixed.

 

i also did a test with Demon Drone Epic , but according to the Halloween FAQ, both the Demon Drone Silver and The Demon Drone Epic
are supposed to give out the same bonuses, but could not tell any difference with or without the drones as far as DMG, or Cooldown.

Whilst we haven't had any official update, i do understand that they have been working on a fix for the demon drone designs and after testing them again today, i definitely saw a noticeable difference when i had a full set of demon drone designs equipped. Again, this is not official, however could you guys please check once more to see if you are also seeing increased damaged?

Yep seems to be working now, although after this recent test I think the bug was actually that demons on 1 config were effecting the other config as well.

The damage with demons has stayed the same for me, however the damage on the config without demon has gone down. So in Goliath with Havoc / Herc I was seeing 16k~ instead of close to 20k with I was seeing when I had demon on the other config, but then looking back on an old damage test this turns out to be the normal damage that I should have been doing. So seems there was a bug but it was giving us more damage instead of less ^^

The description in the Shop says,

"Silver Demon

This Demon drone design will give you 1% bonus to Rocket damage per drone. If all of your drones are equipped with Demon designs, you‘ll also get a 5% rocket cooldown reduction."

It doesn't discern between silver or epic demon design - seems like they are lumped together. Only the color of the drone is affected. Use the demon for a cooldown I guess. Funny the epic demon is not available in shop.
