[SC] Missing shields

  1. My shields have been low for weeks just wondering why and is it going to be fixed?..

    As Ddraig has posted in "shield strength decrease" BP are aware of the reason. However, it seems that although they have been aware of it for some time they have failed in doing anything about this. It's a pain for those of us who don't pay for ammo and boosters and therefore need this extra shield to stay alive in the face of the massive firepower now available.

    I would kindly ask BP to sort this urgently but their slow response is yet another example of misplacing their priorities.
     
  3. its not as simple as flicking a switch its down to coding and if they change something to fix the problem it may make another problem so it takes time to make sure the changes that are made don't effect anything els

    Totally get the fact it takes time.

    But their priorities seem to be misplaced. Instead of spending more and more time on developing ideas that personally I find pointless - see Okapi's posts on new "Frozen" designs lets get the basics right and allow people to have the abilities they already have.

    As far as I know the DO team consists of 30 or so people, for the 'frozen' designs it probably involves a couple of the artists to make the concepts and models then a couple of developers to get them in the game and create a new shader for them, so it is far from the whole team being focused on this.

    When it comes to bug reports typically the system with games is that the reports are given to the QA (Quality Assurance) team, who then have to recreate the bug and give a detailed report to the developers on what the bug is and how it's occurs, I think the mods also help out with giving detailed bug reports before they reach the QA team.

    Then then once it has been fixed they have to test it again and make sure no new issues have arisen. All whilst they are doing QA work for new updates, such as the crafting system or the equipment in-client, as well as investigating other bug reports they have received.
    I know you said you understand that these things takes time, but hopefully that gives a half-decent explanation of why they can take time x)

    Long way of saying that stuff like a few frozen ship designs aren't the focus of the team, overall their focus will be new content that keeps current players interested and then new content that makes the game better for newer players. Just as examples the Halloween event right now has kept a lot of current players very interested and then the crafting / assembly feature will make it easier for newer players to get equipment.

    Thank you as your post goes some way to filling the void between us players and what the DO team is doing. Although I do wonder how you find out all this information!

    However, we all know that there have been hundreds of BUGs that players have exploited and DO have acted with all speed and haste to solve these issues, and I commend them for doing so even if they did not punish the players for taking advantage. These included, jumping port and your uridium increasing, being able to reduce your Goli special ability cool down time immediately, ships that cannot be destroyed - video of Turner on GB1 killing everyone is still on youtube, and don't even mention how most players managed to get their full set of LF4s even though they never completed as many GGs as they had LF4s. These BUGs which are to the determent of DO were removed quickly - full server restart in the case of Turner, but this BUG which does not afford any loss to DO is apparently pushed to the bottom of the pile.

    Hopefully, I have explained my point enough that you can see my frustration.
