Kuiper event launch feedback

There is a lot of greed showing through about the bonus box's, I think we all knew that a base value of 25 spins on the live server was way to high and the moans about buying doubler packs are unjustified. some simple maths a doulbler cost 1.99 euro this is what 5k uri costs at base value with out HH and MHH so to equal the value of the doubler in spins you need 5 box's with a base value of 5 spins this would take less than 20 mins to collect with out a pet now also take into account the uri, ammo , rockets and mines so after 20 mins your already in profit. A doubler lasts for a week and if you buy one you use it to its full and that is 7 days of solid box farming this is a win win situation. Now the box's have been balanced the maps have also been rebalanced and the newbies now also have a chance of a little of the share because untill the update the X-1 maps were flooded with enemy farming all the box's and the newbies were left with a big zero. The gate itself needs some changes because of the ammo needed maybe 20 to 25k uri for compleating the gate the luck factor for ship desighns should stay and ammo drops and some ammo for finishg the gate should be given.

 

Usually I'd agree with you USS-Aries, a lot of the posts on this forum makes me think that a lot of the players are greedy and just arrogant. However this time it is very different.

In this case the DO team, at least the Facebook team, promised that the event and everything relating to it would be the same as it would during the test server. (The post was linked somewhere in this thread already.) While I do agree that 30-35 energy per box is overboard, the fact that they made a promise saying that it will remain that way but then changed their mind one day after the event started just screams as a desperate attempt to trick players into buying a boxing doubler for the week.
As for the fact that the gate seemed to give out a reward 100% of the time, I can completely understand this issue needed to be fixed and think that it is justified that they changed it.

However, at the end of the day this all boils down to three real possibilities. Either:

1) The DO team is not paying nearly as much attention to the test server as they should. Otherwise they probably should have noticed that the boxes were giving out huge rewards and that they gate was always awarding a design/uri

2) The DO team was sloppy/rushed when implementing/creating this event. This event seems to have a lot more issues than most (Gate rewards, Box contents, Daily login not giving parts)

3) This is just a money grab attempt where they should all the pretty new features and trick players into thinking that it's going to remain for a week just to get them to buy a doubler package. And as soon as the majority of the players who were going to buy one do, (probably after a day) they change it back to what they intended it to be like.

At the end of the day each possibility is not too much worse than any other. I was excited for this event and was equally excited for the future of DO in general, but after the amount of distrust this event has given to me for DO I don't really know what to think anymore. I really do hope that they come out with an extremely good explanation or apology, the one they posted doesn't explain much and just leaves more questions to be asked.. But i'm done ranting for now..

 

Well i have to agree i wish i did the gate the first day cause everyone i know that did the gate all got 200k uri and know i just finished it for the first time and got the big 0. Ok i mean i got 50k uri but spent over 100 to build it plus had to use energies i picked up and all for 50k uri wow i could have just saved my uri and been further ahead. Also the only reason i bought box doubler is cause of all the energies i was getting now wish i would have just saved my money again. Feel a bit taken by the event now. If i knew what i know i would have never built the gate.

 

I dont know that much about that topic, but is that kind of acting legal ?
Like promising and confirming a statement, even testing them several times, waiting for a day and then reducing the amount of content of the boxes ?
It's pretty much obvious that it was done on purpose, like, they should have known about that even before they released that event on a test server.

 

Darkorbit just 1 question You going to give us the good amount of gg spins in boxes or you going to refund our money ?
There are like thousand of people in Darkorbit chat , Forum , Facebook page asking you the same thing.
We only invested money because of that 28-35 gg spins boxes.
If this time you don't take decision in players favor i am not gonna play this game anymore.

Darkorbit We will have a launch event with exactly this feature. Check also the FAQ section in the forum later today which should provide more detailed information on it.

Please keep in mind your own personal privacy with the images you are sharing. You may be ok posting your real name etc in the forums within a picture (even still, we ask you do not share your personal information for safety!), but other users, your family and friends might not be ok with that. I called several players told them about the boxs and gate reward . Some came on and bought box doublers . Today there mad about both. And stopped playing all over . Thanks for getting are hopes up players were coming back then taking it away.

 

I obviously cant speak for the all us, but im sure most of us agree with the nerf, and definitely the gate nerf, maybe not the gate base rewards, but whatever, i can say there's 2 big questions we need answers for..

1. Whats with the facebook reply? Is your facebook page run by someones whos not a part of the team? Or yeah..
2. Why did it take so long to "fix" it? It cant be more than a line of code, if it takes any more than that to change the amount of a reward, you have more than a broken code.

What im trying to say is, were not upset with the update, were upset with the approach, there were posts on the forums about these energies, and as shown previously, posts on facebook, I did look at all that before buying a doubler, to find out if its a glitch or not, but thinking that since they release a test server and someone directly posts about the energies, and that they haven't been nerfed for ~12 hours, i would be fine getting one..

 

Its so obvious that bp is messing with us and they are just making their money.

Someone who is in charge of their Facebook account just posted information he thought was true which it was not. Boss of BP did not want so much energy to be given out but the Facebook team did not know it. There is nothing more to it stop being so arrogant fools. Why on earth do you think that BP would scam us, do you seriously think they are so stupid that they would not see the [removed] they would get from it? BP just messed up big time but [removed] kids shut the [removed] up about they scamming us from our 2 euros they did not.

BP handled this situation extremely poorly though. They released content in which people could get hundreds of euros worth of uridium for free and then they just nerfed it. Where is the compensation for people who did not play yesterday? Do you guys at BP understand this? The silence you are making is horrible again, why is there no comments to this manner? You just wait people to build conspiracy theories and not do a single thing to prevent this -> people think they are true and your reputation as a company is being destroyed. How about just making an official statement saying that you made a horrible mistake and your fix to the mistake was even more worse? And you are going to fix everything.

Problem: some people got millions of uri for free and others feel very bad about it, many paying people included. Why would anyone spend money anymore when their friends got 300€ worth of stuff for free?
Fix: That is your problem to think *psst, give us back the broken boxes for 48 hours*

The situation is entirely your fault. Don't blame the players for this. You should have not implemented the thing without testing it properly. You should have not fixed it like that even though economy was getting unbalanced. Unbalance was entirely your fault and you should have suffered the consequences. In a long run you "fix" will be a lot more harmful than having "broken" boxes would have been. There is no easy way out of this. Just start kicking out people who are in charge please, you need to make changes there. It is not enough anymore that someone just says "oops sorry won't happen again" and have a laugh about it. You need to seriously do something.

 

I would think a proper fix, that would still be quite op, but wouldnt make it too op for the botters/people who have too much free time, is bringing the boxes back and limiting it for example to 10k energies per day, after youve reached the amount you can only get the 2 energies you get normally, that way people who cant afford to play a lot can reach this threshold.

 

Anyone who completed this gate with the bug should have all rewards removed. People have made millions of uridium by exploiting a bug. Same as cheating. The guys that did it knew and continued to build as much uridium as possible before it was shut down. Just as people exploit benefits system in real life once they have been caught all has to be given back. Do the same here. Punish those who exploited bug.

If for first 15 hours botters/macroers or zombies(no-life players) boxed over 80k spins, i can just imagine what would happen in next 6 days 9 hours - people would have over milion spins and im pretty sure about that ! With that 200k feature people would have 15 mil uridium and so - so i really understand why did they nerf it - its understandable. But, youve put out wrong informations and people that bought doubler for that feel offended. Dont say it was a bug - it wasnt , you really put them out. I dont like that KrisKelvin told lie that it was bug and we drew attention. Thats just not possible. Or you arent even testing your implements ? Thats wrong mistake !!!
I am happy they removed OP boxes and 200k thingy. And dont be against me - i also bought doubler.
That would really change ballances...

But what are you going to do with those that already collected tons of spins ? Its pretty unfair that not ALL players were able get their boxes and this thing is going to change ballance in DO. I just saw RPs grew by 70k by a day so guess it will just continue.
If you going to put this feature out, put it for everyone for atleast 24 hours. Or dont even think about that.

Boxes are still very nice and if they were reduced 6* you can just collect for 6 days what did u collect for 12 hours. (I hope)
Id buy doubler anyways even if they would give 5 spins and not 20 or 100, ddms and emps are quite nice too.

To be honest, I think it is appauling. You tell us it was an error? Yet we were receiving 30 gg spins from the test server too? I think this is a scam in my eyes... You say you want your game to do well? Put the boxes back up to 30 gg spins. No wonder why players are leaving dark orbit....

 

Would be an idea to include the event boxes in battle maps now, removing them from the battle maps from 11pm until 8am would also prevent botters from gaining an unfair advantage as they would be subject to players hunting them down. I would however add that it would be better to detect and remove said botters as prevention is always better than a cure for any malady.

 

Why and how would it really change the balances? Think about it, smaller players can build up their ships and what are ufes gaining just loads of ammo? 3/4 of them can't even 1v1 so I think it draws more of a balance to the game PVP side of things and with the gate we were still promised (AND BOXES). I don't think "next time rather give us 7 days non-stop spaceball instead of those boxes." People wouldn't agree with this since the event usually goes 1 way company (In this case on our server MMO). So doing this would be a bad idea and wouldn't benefit anyone.

 

I'd would rather prefer what we were promised. Especially since they lied. I say Bring the rewards back and Kuiper gate needs a little work too make it more fair amongst lower geared players (chances to build up their accounts).

Who cares about ranks? I'm more of a person that would rather just have a built up buffed account. Ranks are completely Irrelevant to what this event was supposed to do. So don't even say that.
