[SC] East 1 server dead/dying

  1. Returning after several years I find that my main accounts (into which I have invested ALOT of money) server US East 1 is practically empty. Passing through the lowers I find there aren't any new players trying to work their way up. This is a shame as we are not allowed to move our ships to different servers in order to find a more populated server.

    uppers is populated enough to be satisfactory. EMpty servers make it easier to pally play spaceball and box or even npc so I like empty server.

    Don't tell me you are FE or UFE and raiding lowers looking for weaker ships to kill. If so, then you can see why players are not working their way up. If you have played several years then do the lower players a favor and stay in bmps - at least there will be a skill challenge for you. That way you will be helping the weaker players on your server to progress and someday they will be able to offer you a fair fight.

Guys remember they created more servers to reduce the lag generated by too many people on the servers then changed the game so everyone quit the game so now they are going to merge servers to create lag again because they keep chasing players away from the game. Why not make the game ENJOYABLE for ALL levels of player and keep the servers active instead of deleting the servers because you have alienated the noobs and they quit your game, but then there are a ton of upper (top 1000 users) levels who have become inactive as they have gotten bored with the game also.
     
  8. you can combine all the zones into one server and still not come close to users online during dead time in the old days. ησσвι¢ι∂є[ŁŐŪ1] and i remember jumping into battle maps and you hope your company is holding it at the moment because if not there is about 50 + and thats a low # enemys sitting in the battle map. When enemys invaded the lowers the big guns in your company came calling to run them off protecting the noobs ment something back then. i had a low end computer back then and had no lag compared to what you see today changes yes made alot quit, no real bot controle by DO when 1000s of bots were on every server that made more quit. then came the big UFE update and thats when the game crashed to the level you see today. every step of the way DO agitated the old school players with updates that impacted the game untill to see what we got. hell something as little as the jump cpu ruined the game

    so really DOs only chance to bring a little of the old game back is to get population in the servers. how they do that well they sure are not going to get noobs here to be bait for years while they build there ship
     
  9. The biggest problem with the UFE is the noobs do not see any way if getting there without worrying about being banned for being a botter. In the OLD DAYS as long as you were shooting things while BOXING you were never selected as a BOTTER, now I understand you BOX for 6 hours or more and you are in the sights of being selected as a BOTTER. Also the fact that D O allows names that are similar just by changing case of letters or adding "." to a name really upsets me. A friend of mine, started 2010, goes by AlienHunter with special characters in the front middle and end of his name and there are at least 2 others on our server and one has been seen/recorded as a BOTTER so when it is brought up in chat all 3 of them are a BOTTER, yet my friend is doing quests while his PET boxes the only time he boxes is while he is looking for targets needed for his Quests.

    OLD SCHOOL players saw they could get as strong as the FE players and there was a light at the end of the tunnel. NOW the light for UFE is so dim that they lose faith that they can ever be on EQUAL GROUND as the UFE, and YES I know it just takes time and you could be UFE as a FREE player, but compare a UFE to an FE, I was FE strength in 6 months without spending a dime on the game, Trying to become UFE I have spent a year (job took me away from game for a while) and over $1000 and am no closer to being UFE than I was before spending the money (buying the BK's to get Zeus parts and LF-4's and not getting these on the special days). I have received more Apis Parts (built one and have 39 additional parts), LF-3, BO-2, CBS Modules, and boosters than the coveted UFE gear (9 LF-4 and 3 Zeus parts I average 1 item per $100 spent) I guess I should have spent the money on EE to build gates maybe I would have more LF-4's but then that still has me missing the Zeus drone. But at the rate I am able to build a gate, about 1 a month, it is going to be 10 years before I become UFE strength and I won't play that long being cannon fodder and D O will make another equipment change to make a XFE (XtremeFE) or even a XUFE in that time which then makes it even harder for the game to keep new players.

    There have been several threads created asking for some balance in the maps to protect the FE minus from being attacked by the UFE Hunter and these all seem to be ignored. As long as the noobs can not get protection while doing HOME map LOWER Missions from the UFE Hunter they are not going to stay. Having 2 or more lock on a noob and 2 shot them to death every time they leave port is not going to keep that person active in the game. Changes need to be made to the game to equalize out the PvP portion of the game, Yes I know we had strong players in the OLD SCHOOL game MatchBox, General Cave, theChurchofBob, these names when heard in a map sent everyone scurrying for the portals, they had earned the respect of the others in the game and were known to be strong enough to take a 5v1 assault and still fly away from the fight, but you knew if you saw them you were going to die. The NEW killers are chickens as they wait for you to be engaged with a LARGE NPC they lock you while they are cloaked watching your fight and when they see you are weakened then they decide to start their attack with their x-4 and freeze rockets and whatever else they have and next thing you know you are dead.

    I used to be one of those players on the US East 1 server. Imagine my dismay when I returned to the game after several years and was insta popped by a lone pilot as soon as I jumped into the bmaps. UFE is a fantasy only the life dedicated players achieve. Well sorry Bigpoint I have a life. I work and am a father of 2. I dont have the time nor assets ($1000's) to make this.

    Totally agree, its a big problem which could be easily solved by upping the URI in the game so newbs can quickly get some rsb and x4 going. a UFE is not going to last long against 2-3 FE's when they are blasting rsb and x4 combos and are boosted as well. on GA3 server before I quit, SF clan plays 24/7 switching ships, all ships have weeks of boosters in all categories and 45 lf4s minimum. You are literally talking about a 3x damage output with easy escapes and 49 UFE friends to gang up at anytime. The essence of the game is a level playing field and honor effects. if 2-3 FE pop a UFE they should get 5-7k honor where the UFE gets 500 honor. that way FE's will band together to hunt the big prize. If they kill a general they should get a huge reward, URI, special ammo and big boosts. If a general kills a newb they should get next to nothing, they should only get rewards when they kill the opposing company general. its a simple idea that would breathe life back into the game.
     
  12. Merging servers WILL NOT WORK AND IS NOT THE SOLUTION. One of the main reasons is that there are many people with 1 account that has multiple UFE ships on different servers. Merging servers will arise the question, "What will happen to my ships if the servers get merged?" Meaning, if USA 1-2-3-4 got merged and someone had an account with all of those servers active on it with ufe ships, then would said person be able to keep all of those ships or not? One could argue and say that they worked hard for those ships and that it would not be fair to have them taken away or deleted. On the other hand, people would say that it would not be fair because there would be a lot of people with multiple UFE ships on 1 server... that is just one of many issues, so merging servers is NOT the fix for this problem.

    I will post a thread with an idea ive been working on about this within the next couple of days.
     
  13. This game has had one problem since it started, players decide the life of each server.Its player choice to buy all best gear and hunt only smaller ships, player choice to defend against it,same for noobs that continuously hunt 5-3 for easy kills.

    I have tried to spread the truth of farming kills destroys games.I have seen it over and over, altho I teach my clan this rule and urge them to help keep balance in the game not many people even care to consider this truth....So DO is now forced to fix this as we see players can not be trusted with such a task to maintain health of each server and its community.The current mind set is "If I can do it i`ll continue to do so till DO changes it"

    Right now the balance between Newbies and Elites is real off set since everybody feels the need to pick on weaker players over and over.
    Starting out you need a group of people to defend you, teach you which events to do and which to not, best places to spend uri and when,best time to collect booty boxes, and informs others that you double your time or $ spent getting zeus when you buy apis first.Key points of the game are barely supported by anybody anymore.
     
  14. The balance of the game failed when they created the LF-4 and made it only available to those willing to spend money on the game. The CHANCES of a P4F player collecting them and becoming UFE are slim to none and even though some have paid to get them have failed to collect what they thought they would for the money spent. The protector of the noobs went away when they added the Advanced Jump Chip and lack of being able to protect maps at the Portal, and now the ones that were protecting are doing Galaxy Gates instead of playing in the regular maps. I am confused about the Zues statement as a friend built the Apis drone and then tried to collect the Zeus parts on Zeus days but has received 39 Apis to 3 Zeus parts and has been told you need to NOT build the Apis and it forces the system to give you the Zeus parts. When I have tried to help a noob understand the principals of the game and proper methods of getting stronger, I am told that is too slow and I want it faster, the only way faster is to be a wallet and buy everything but payment does not teach etiquette or technique, so they become OUTLAWS and do not understand why every one is attacking them all the time.

Like I mentioned not as many players go into detail why certain options are better than others, my zeus statement is just as you explained it with less words.I don`t only tell my members which options are better I show them why, of course what they do is up to them I just provide all the needed info to make a better decision and hopefully keep them playing.A nother issue is people wanting to pay to play but not knowing where to spend their money...And if their first attempts don`t help their advancement normally people see it as a bad investment and walk away.

    Best way to get ufe is plan ahead of what to buy and when, and participate in events that give a load of uri and gg spins.And thats why I defend 5-3 because I know if I don`t, who will? And over time more people are encouraged to join me on my mission to stabilize the game.Granted DO released items a little sooner than we wanted which did make people leave, change companies and join clans who seemed to spend alot in the game.But then alot of people over looked our freedom of choice in game and abused it.

    DO messed up by letting players have too much choice in the game as to how its played and now they have to implement a system to better protect new players because we all know all anybody cares about anymore is another kill.

  16. I feel your pain in my opinion if the only way to merge servers was to sacrafice honor and exp I think its worth it if it will make the game fun again they could also reset it later on so everyone gets there exp and honor back its 100% able to be done with time.
     
  17. What new players? I've been playing East 1 for 3000+ hours and still feel like an idiot for wasting all this time thinking I could box my way to atleast holding my own against UFEs. There are never any new players, that I can find, in lowers. Occasionally, you'll see one that is still under protection cause they just started. They don't stick around though when they realize the futility of playing a game that is completely stacked against new players. East 1 is nothing short of a uber fraternity where three or four uber clans keep changing names and hunting p4f players. DO is obviously making some money off the wallet warriors or they would've shut down the server moons ago. But their business model is cancerous and will only survive until the number of UFEs spending drops below the expected ROI for server maintenance and programmer payroll. There will be a small cry of foul when they close the server and UFE wallet warriors complain to deaf ears about their imagined investment in digital assets, but ultimately they'll lose all of their money. Good hunting.
     
  18. Well if you are seeing the occasional protected player then you need to take them under your wing and help them to understand the game and guide them to becoming a FE/UFE player. The biggest reason NEW players do not stick with the game is no one wants to take the time to help them anymore. My first account 5 years ago I had people help me understand what was needed and how to get there along with calling for help and getting half a dozen invites into groups, now you can ask for a group for hours and not get anything (unless it is to do a HADES Gate). Call out an enemy in a map and you might get asked "where?" but you can't answer that because you have been popped and have no idea where they are now. But again this is only MIGHT, even when I am trying to do TIMED quests (need a PET with locator to solo) and ask for help it was impossible to get anyone to help me. I have found clans to be useless unless you are UFE and then it is just to hunt noobs in the lowers instead of doing quests to help players with quests they can not do. At level 15 I find I am not strong enough to stay in the Uber Maps long enough to complete a quest or kill fast enough to keep the trash off of me. I can kill a Uber Kristallin IF I can keep the rest of the NPC's off of me. My friends (level 19 and 20) still can not solo a Uber Kristallon and keep asking for assistance but the only people wanting to help can't fight themselves out of a paper bag and add little help to them as once they have to pull away to heal the helpers are popped with a single hit from the UBK.

    As for the wallets and their investment, IF the servers do get merged/closed I am sure they will cry so hard that D O will attempt to satisfy their requests as they are the ONLY thing keeping the game alive, the P4F players can come and go all they want but to lose a WALLET is not acceptable to D O, I have a friend that was buying on MHH and since he stopped spending his money (found it to be a waste of good resources) he gets Newsletters about the "MHH happening soon" to try to coerce him to open the wallet again. But he had a problem getting a Newsletter giving a Major amount of "Gifts" and event was over by the time they resolved the issue, and decided then D O did not care about his money and ended the purchase of anything (he might buy Premium again when his annual runs out he does like the Kami of the PET), but that is about all he will get now.
     
  19. i got no problem helping people out ۷ᵉᵑᵒᶬКᶥᶫᶻᶳ on east 1 i cant say i can fight everyone off but ill make them feel it. unless there is magic involved i hate magic but if im on im usually looking for something to do got to kill 250 UBKs and about 150 more uber lords so im all for it i can solo a UBK but they a pain with 2 people hardly any damage so a group is cake walk
     
  20. I was referring to flying through enemy maps. Using this as an indicator that new players are not starting the game. As for helping, I always do, even if it's helping pop what ever they are on when passing by.

    Reality is that no new player will ever stand a chance against the UFE wallets, and I'm not even bringing the whole clan war junk into this discussion. Until DO makes it impossible to kill a friendly company member, there will always be a jack-wagon that will hunt noobs in their own company because their 12 years old and can't fight the enemy. My point is that in this current bigpoint business model, the rate of attrition will out weigh the existing wallet warriors. Eventually, it will not make business sense to keep the game alive. IMHO.
