[UI] New Group GG

  1. Due to the known popularity of Hades gate, whether it be because of it's cheap price to construct, the fun element of all the emperors or the fact that we can do it in an outfit of 4-8, the community love it. And we NEED another one.

    I had the idea, while doing the survey. To make this new group gate, with a set of NPCs that could rival the ones already in Hades. There aren't really any other strong NPCs, in terms of Ubers that already exist...So it would require new ones being made, specifically for this gate. I also had a long and tough time, thinking of the Emperor's abilities, so any constructive criticism will be useful!

    I decided with it being Pirate themed.

    Wave 1:
    - Interceptors x100
    -(Boss) Interceptors x40
    -(Uber) Interceptors x12
    Though that may seem alot of NPCs, Interceptors are particularly weak, and so their Boss/Uber forms, would not be made to be overly powerful either.
    - Emperor Interceptor
    It's powerup, could be that once popped, it splits into 2(each of the halves being half the HP, Shields and Damage output, of the solo one), and upon those dying, they again split into 2, each - creating 4 more. These 4 would be half strength, hp and shields again...So you're effectively killing this Emperor 8 times.

    Wave 2:
    - Barracudas x60
    -(Boss) Barracudas x24
    -(Uber) Barracudas x8
    These NPCs would need to have their Kami ability, revoked inside the gate. This would be because if all the players kami them with their pets, the whole outfit may suicide due to the mass damage from the Barras blowing up.
    - Emperor Barracuda
    This boss NPC could "mark" targets (like the + - feature from Hades) and fire low HP, kamikazi Barracuda bombs, at those marked ships. This would obviously need a cooldown or a limit to how many "bombs" are fired per target switch.

    Wave 3:
    - Saboteurs x30 & Annihilators x20
    -(Boss) Saboteurs x15 & Annihilators x10
    -(Uber) Saboteurs x6 & Annihilators x3
    I think that these NPCs should keep their special ability (sab slows and anni hellstorms) to make the final wave a little harder. The Uber sabs could Ice rocket, instead of slow rocket, to make the wave more painful!
    - Emperor Battle-Ray
    At HP milestones (75%, 50% and 25% HP remaining), it would go crazy and spawn 2 regular BRays, which heal the Emperor over the time that they're alive. This would add an aspect of skill to the final wave, because if more than 2 targets hit the BRays, then they go crazy and stay for longer, meaning the Emp may fully heal over the duration.

    This then leads to the possibility of an extra reward...Like the LF-4 chance from Hades. Here, I had a number of ideas;

    //It could give it's own, new, drone design. All things on D.O come in 3 colours, blue...red...and green. BOOTIES, SHIP DESIGNS, LASERS...But where is the green drone design? This could be a drone design, solely for the NPCers/or players pushing for rank. It could work like Hercules designs, giving 2% bonus EP rewards, per design equipped, but once a player is full designs, it would give a 15% bonus to Honor rewards too?
    //I also thought, since it is a pirate inspired gate, that it would be cool if it rewarded us with 5 blue booty keys, and 5 red booty keys upon completeion...Sticking to the theme!
    //The final idea, was that we received a number of Upgrade tokens(e.g. between 1-3 each time). These would work by allowing the player, free uses of Upgrades in that section of the game. This means that alot of players who are UFE, but still need upgrades, would have a useful gate to spam.

    Obviously, these ideas would need to be low chance/low rewards because it could push the effective completion reward of the gate over the top.

    This idea is UNFINISHED. Any help to develop/change my original ideas would be useful. My numbers of NPCs and rewards, were based/balanced mainly through Hades, but also some of the other gates and their difficulty, had a knock on effect to my idea here.

    I STILL NEED A NAME FOR THIS GATE!! Get thinking.

  4. Maybe do a group gate for the noobs, with not so good rewards for the higher level players, but for the players that have just started they would be good rewards, like 5000 uri, 1 mill creds, 5000 honour and a chance for lf3/bo2.

One of the problems this gate would have during wave 1 is the ints would pop with 2 kamis meaning any prem player could just sit in 1 spot and kami ints twice and get the 100 int rewards... likewise the bosses as a general rule are 3-4 times stronger than reg npc with ubers 3-4 times stronger than the bosses. so the int stage could be solo kami'd by a single player in theory... but barracudas would then negate this as they kami the player dealing 50k damage. the first wave seems a little easy but the second wave balances this with it's unecesarry difficulty. the 3rd wave seems like it could fit though; perhaps a stronger type of interceptor for the first wave and a nerfed barracuda for the second to make it a decent all 'round gate?
     
  6. It would be pointless mate, because you can buy BO2s/LF-3s for uridium, so why pump alot of uri into a gate when it's easier to just buy them?

    And yeah, the first wave is designed to be easier, and getting progressively harder...Then that's alot of decent rewards for the group to start, but then the 1st wave can literally just be kami'd in a group, like Hades. But yeah, I see what you're saying mate :)
