[TEI] NEWSLETTER Mess Up

  1. Okay so today is D O's birthday. We get invited to log in TODAY and receive FIREWORKS to help celebrate. The Fireworks were issued yesterday and we get Hellstorm Rockets today. For those who GET the NEWSLETTERS and have not been playing it is going to be very upsetting as D O AGAIN has messed up, and falsely presented the game/reward for what you do.

    Funny, there is only 1 of my friends that get ALL the NEWSLETTERS and the other 3 (including me) only get them every once in a while. We WhiteListed the addresses as suggested, WE have NEWSLETTERS turned ON, 2 are direct Big Point generated, and 2 are using AFFILIATE (DirecTV) which they do not know how they did that, but the one that is getting ALL of the notices is with the AFFILIATE and when we brought it up SUPPORT blamed the AFFILIATE for the NEWSLETTERS not being received.

    D O/BigPoint please quit blaming your short falls on other companies as the affiliates (unless the email service is provided by them) has absolutely nothing to do with your emails. And when we used to get EVERY Newsletter, until just recently, says the problem is some change YOU made in the GENERATOR being used and the email addresses are not being assigned to the emails properly. Please research your side of the distribution, verify the email was addressed and sent to the registered address and then send a test email to the address and see what response is sent back to you as to why the email was not DELIVERABLE so you can send this to the player when he continues to not get the Newsletters, this way he can research from his end of what is happening to the NEWSLETTER. BUT FIRST he needs to know what the reason for the email not getting to him is NOT "Some affiliates prevent the newsletters from being received" because when the affiliates are contacted they say they "have nothing to do with you getting emails from anyone"

    The fireworks and Hellstorm are part of the advents daily login, a mix up in days for awards could have been a dev glitch rather than a news letter error. The fact is if you have logged on every day you would have received both fireworks and hellstorms. The daily advent bonus is supposed to be a suprise for logging in each day and it is not difficult to log in each day just to receive the daily rewards. If you are not getting the news letter in your E-mails then you should contact support because the mods can't fix such problems.

    As º¤»ĐЯΣΔΜ◊†◊ÐΣМΦИ«¤º & Sgt-Bilko suggested respectively, I haven't heard anything regarding a newsletter being sent out today up to this post. However, yesterday's advent calendar provided fireworks and today hellstorm rockets so I would have to believe that was what was intended. There's an extra bonus everyday, people just need to log in and get it.

    & as for your complaints of the newsletters and the advice you have received thus far, the newsletter issues are not an exact science. Every time newsletters come out, particularly if there are rewards attached, we hear from those who have experienced some sort of difficulty with the newsletters. We understand it's frustrating, especially if it happens repeatedly, but we are trying to work with support to help the game team stay informed and aware of any issues experienced so things might be better the next time around. Support and ourselves can only advise you with the best information we have available to us. If you are registered through a third party, then it is very possible that something relating to that is preventing the newsletters from coming through. That doesn't mean it's guaranteed, but if the third-party registration is not the underlying issue with your newsletter problem, that doesn't mean that is not the reason for others. I know with certainty that third-party registrations do prevent newsletters for some, so please do not insinuate that this is just something we have come up with just because we could.

  5. I in fact get one in my email also (The only reason i even logged in) and didnt get any fireworks as stated in the email. Here is the email in question!!

    I don't know how many fireworks might've been attached to it, or if it was intended to mean the advent calendar, so will have to ask around. For now the best we can do is press that there are still users not getting these

    The date I'm seeing on the one I've been sent is today, and fireworks were on the calendar for yesterday. It may have given some more fireworks, or at least intended. Will try to find out in any case

  9. Ty Solid, And pls tell them next time give something that can be used in the game like ammo or something fireworks is like a freebe that no one really wants if ya know what i mean. But it was a nice thought at least.

    You're welcome^ ^ I can't guarantee I have any sway with future freebies though lol :)

    I can't say for certain you would get one on each server if it's all tied to the same account (ie you just switch servers via the backpage rather than a separate log in). To be safe, you may want to check & make sure that you receive mails from DO's automated system (newsletters, email or password change confirmations). If you don't receive any of those and have whitelisted the emails, it may be worth checking with support to see if your email might be on the blacklist as sometimes can be the case as well.

As I stated 3 of 4 friends got the NEWSLETTER and the response from support told us to WhiteList as described in FORUMS and then it was the AFFILIATE we signed up with BLOCKING the emails but then there are two of us that used the same AFFILIATE (special login code to get a bonus) and one gets the NEWSLETTER and the other does not. But that is why I posted the information here hoping it would get to the correct people as SUPPORT does nothing with the information except that "the problem is the AFFILIATE is blocking the emails from being delivered" as the affiliate has nothing to do with my email I do not understand how they can say this?

    Thank you for posting it I am not knowledgeable enough as to how to post like that.

    But since this was sent out TODAY the DOOR being OPENED should have had the XL-Fireworks in it not the 500 Hellstorms we got. Oh well like I said originally, tease people back to the game and don't give what you say you are giving.

    As I said before, we work with support in trying to get the info on newsletter issues raised to the correct people. If the best information support has at the time suggests there is some issue with the affiliate, that is going to be the best advice they can offer you then at the time. That doesn't mean nothing is being passed on or done, just presently that seems to be the likely cause.

    We'll check with support again with this newsletter as we usually do, and try to pass on the issues that stem from it. Just please bear with us (and support) when we don't have something new. If something changes we will certainly go from there. Please believe me when I say that we all want the newsletters to work seamlessly just as much as you do.

Thank you, but with the amount of people not getting them and the continued failures it is difficult to have faith, especially when the issue has been going on for so long (6 months to do something as important as the newsletters seems like it is not that important to you), this confirmed when you pushed out the Kuiper Gate knowing there were issues with it instead of waiting the week mentioned in the release thread to make the corrections before they could be exploited like they were.

    I have found that part of the problem is with MICROSOFT and their newly changed email format. At the time they made the change from the individual (HotMail, Live, MSN, and such) to OUTLOOK dot COM is when the emails stopped being sent. I have found I can not change my IN GAME email address as the verification email is not being sent out to my original email address. ANYONE else using Microsoft's email system having the problems with the NEWSLETTERS? I would like to know as Microsoft's Tech Chat says my email is working fine just not receiving from MAIL@email.bigpoint.com or NEWSLETTER@news.bigpoint.com even though they are both whitelisted and in my SAFE Senders list.

    Is there a way to change the in-game email without going through the 3 step verification process? I get the emails generated through the support system and can communicate back and forth with them but do not know if that ticket I generated is going to get me anywhere.

    Any help is appreciated.

    You can ask support for assistance changing the email address. They will require certain information from you to do so, but they will provide you the information they need if/when you ask them for assistance to change the email.

    I posted basically, so if others not getting the NEWSLETTERS and are using MICROSOFT based email systems they know what the problem might be. I have created a ticket and made a special request to get a TEST email to see if the NEW Microsoft platform (OUTLOOK.COM) is going to work or if I have to create a completely NEW email account, using another provider.
     
  18. The e-mail still goes under @hotmail so there's never an issue for me, but this time i didn't get one, at least before today, haven't checked my e-mail today.

    How many NEWSLETTERS have you received recently? Since September 21 there have been 8 newsletters sent out;

    Killer PETS
    Halloween 2015
    MHH 3 times Nov 8, 15 and Dec 6
    Kuiper Gate
    Enemy Chill
    Birthday

    these are from the friend that also signed up via DIRECTV (according to support).

    There have been 2 NEWSLETTERS a month average since I stopped receiving them in September. My friends have been getting everyone of them and the only difference we have found is the provider. Where SUPPORT said it was the AFFILIATE stopping it one of the others getting ALL of the NEWSLETTERS are also using the same AFFILIATE as me but using GOOGLE for his email. So this contradicts what we were told when the MAJOR uprising came about over the large ammunition delivery from a NEWSLETTER, that not everyone got or went to an account they have not used for years.

    So I figured an announcement of the issue with the change to OUTLOOK.COM by Microsoft needed to be pointed out as being MY problem and could be others problems. Test this theory go into settings on main page, email, and send request to change email to current address (use caps to make it different if you want email is not case sensitive) and see if you get the first email verifying you requested the change, I have tried 4 times and got nothing.

  20. I got pet and halloween, know nothing about mhh newsletters, never heard of such things, and nothing since then.
